QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) And if not the Sox game for starters, golf is usually a pretty decent starter.... Seems doubtful that even half of those forty have picked up a golf club outside of miniature golf.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) Ok Tim Roth... I do agree though. A person would never send that out if they really made that in a serious way...unless it was Steve... As for the intelligence debate...it seems fairly obvious which animal is more trainable and capable, as one has been domesticated to do all sorts of jobs and tasks for humans while another is employed basically as a rat/mouse repellent... Pretty cool... Towser... the mouser. There really is no debate though, dogs are vastly superior in the smarts department. Countless studies have been done... dating as far back as centuries ago... the answer is always the same. Cats have the heads up in the sensory department.. but in no way should better hearing/smelling be associated with greater intelligence. Purring may ever be beneficial to a cats health... but once more... in no way should it be associated with intelligence... they are just utilizing an action they are capable of making.

Hopefully the power follows shortly. His slugging doesn't cut it for any position other than pitcher. Once morel can get past juan pierre's career slugging mark... or starts taking walks at a respectable rate i will start getting a tad more excited. I'm not even greedy asking for both to click at once... but until then he is worthless offensively. For whatever it is worth, i have less faith in him growing into some solid power than i do him learning how to take a walk. I can't see him even sniffing crede's numbers, and if he does, it will likely be years down the road.

Why not? The official "Alex Rios Sucks" Thread

QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:26 AM) If people are using one incident like this, along with rumors, and observed body language to judge a man, to believe they know what his mindset is, they might want to take a look at the reasons they judge other people. Hell i don't agree with it (i agree with your side) but it was bound to be posted if i didn't. So i just beat someone else to the punch. -
Why has it taken so long to ban real? Stupidity is clearly not enough, evidently, considering there are a few (a few... lolz) still roaming around the place. Even them, i can deal with, if we must. Real? He tops most in that category, and is troll to boot. Please can the guttersnipe before it's too late.

QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 01:22 AM) I really think some of you guys go way too far. Does anyone really know that he is a lazy, terrible human being with a bad attitude? I haven't read anything like that. If there is anything like that, please post it. I just see him struggle at the plate and get extremely frustrated. Yes, he is awful right now. He knows it, and he is pissed about it. Why all the lazy and "he doesn't care" comments? Seems like he is beating himself up over it, to me, if anything. -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Who? The guy who wrote the article.

After a spurt like that... it would be beyond demoralizing to lose this for the mavericks. ... and nowitzki is good.

Thomas "had a lot of teammates involved" in steroids
qwerty replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Clearly randy williams was enhanced during his tenure with the white sox big league club. How else could one put up numbers that big like his 2010? Riddle me this. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) Supposedly in Cuba he was better in CF than SS. He never looked THAT good in CF here, but who knows. In the time he played he seemed to have been adequate. His play in center (though extremely some sample) reminded me of when jose valentin was out there. I may be the only one that sensed the similarities.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 03:39 AM) thanks alot A.J. so you think i dont have the mental capacity to process obscure movies? I wouldn't even classify the man from earth as obscure. Now if you truly wanted to know about some obscure movies... you have asked the right guy.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:51 AM) Mary and Max was really good. Its an Australian claymation style animated film. You can watch it instantly on Netflix. Quite the sad little story. There is another film touching the same subject that i watched the same day... a bit different for the romance genre. Completely off topic... but more people need to see the man from earth... just curious what people have to say. I don't personally know a person who has disliked the film. Milkman or sqwert, i'm looking at you.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2011 -> 11:23 PM) I think he can pitch to a 3.5 ERA or so. Year in, year out?

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 27, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Anyone here seen Buried yet? The entire movie is Ryan Reynolds inside a wooden coffin. Pretty creepy movie...not sure how I feel about it yet even...but definitely dark. I love how it took him half (if not slightly more) of the movie to search the entire coffin for items. I mean come on. Buried was most definitely a flawed film in several aspects. With that said... i believe it was just about as good of a film that it could be given the circumstance. A 95 minute movie solely in a coffin? That is simply an incredible task at hand for anyone. I'll personally be giving rodrigo cortés (the director) another chance(s) in the future.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 27, 2011 -> 08:32 AM) I stay logged in 24/7, so even at 3,4 or 5 in the morning, I'm technically here, Qwerty. Well as do i, and i'm sure many others. Point being, is you nor knightni show up under the active users list, or via last click, 24 hours a day. Only way to show up at either of those two spots is you would need to refresh... once 15 minutes goes by... it's like you were never on. Years ago the only ''member'' that showed up at the bottom almost 24 hours a day was the google.com bot.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ May 27, 2011 -> 02:50 AM) I'm always around. So you are saying you are on soxtalk 24 hours a day... and that what i stated is not true? For instance you are not on right now... so ''always'' in inaccurate. No reason for that unsure smiley.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 27, 2011 -> 12:23 AM) As always... just lurking, waiting for no one to post at this time of night I have been on this board hundreds of time... just me... no users... no guests... eerie in a way. Generally this in the case between 3:45 and 5:15am. Shortly there after things start getting back into motion. Pale hose talk has got to be one of the very worst little sections in all of the internet. If it's not on a list currently... well it should be. All it seems i read over there is one vacuous thought after another. I couldn't think up these harebrained thoughts if i tried. Unreal. Though i must say the nba thread, as per usual, is still the same laughing stock it has nearly always been. Pretty certain most post in there without knowledge of what a basketball is... let alone the game of basketball. I very well could be entirely wrong, and if that is somehow the case, boy have i been fooled. However, this seems doubtful. Now i may sound bitter, and that is indeed factual. Reason being? I want to talk some white sox dammit, and i'm rarely given the chance to. Heads need to roll.
-
This was pretty monumental for the sport... and most definitely myself also. I don't know where i would be today without witnessing this in person. Talk about exhilarating. I was just a casual fan before this play, but ever since, i have had this unreal sort of connection with the sport.

Battle of the Bottom Dwellers: Twins vs. Sox @ 7:10
qwerty replied to The Ginger Kid's topic in 2011 Season in Review
It's been nearly 20 years since the white sox were last no hit... they are due. Would love to see a nice quick 1-2-3 here. -
The soxtalk savior kalapse is waiting for all of his disciples to follow. Come on in he says. Well he would say it here... but he is too shy. http://www.soxtalk.com/chat/chatroom.html

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) You saw Hudson pitch twice last year. That's 2 starts. And you're sure he's going to turn it around. Yet, Adam Dunn has hit 358 homers in 10 years, and he's chopped liver. Oy vey. Problem is dunn is on the white sox... and hudson is not. Btw, you are on a roll today, i love it.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Post of the Year. Quite clever. At least try to have some style, like Bob Dylan employed incisively. Maybe you can just send a private text message between each other, Caulfield : LOL BFF Please. You are the one with the completely nonsensical response to the topic at hand. Rather than being worried with what i had to say, you very well could have tried to explain the link between the two. Let's not act like i was the only who didn't get it. As i stated, and i fully believe it, i'm sure in your head (lolzomglolzhehe)... there is a link. Whatever the link was... i'm more than willing to bet you were grasping at straws. Don't you worry, you carry on caulfield, we are all very familiar with your style. Just like greg775... it is what it is... you both are simply set in your ways. Keep on fighting the good fight!
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) What the heck do this post, and that news article, even have to do with the subject of this thread? It all makes sense in the brain of caulfield. Which is disturbing.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) wite, how did you end up with this opportunity? What exactly are you doing -- just driving him around? Also, what are his "presentations" about? We all know how these things work. Wite is probably f***ing his way into the entertainment business. Seriously.
