    Now when fop gets back in three years from the army soxtalk will finally be back to full strength.
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) I know that. But it's not like KW is afraid to give up talent to fill holes and the payroll has expanded. I just don't see KW adding a luxury guy like Cintron that we really didn't need and then not even filling a known hole in the bullpen. It was just what jphat said yesterday...
  4. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) KW just traded for a backup infielder which he even called a luxury pickup. Why wouldn't he trade for a reliever if one of our current guys looks injured and it's affecting his pitching? Afterall, our bullpen will have more of an impact on our season than Alex Cintron will. Because the sox may have to give talent/money/or take money on... in return for a player.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Why was that hard to understand?
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) Green I hope? Do you know of any game that was won 0-0? That actually made me say '' what the f***'' when i saw it.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Can you read? I gave him credit for getting us back in the game and carrying us in the 4th. But I guess I should be like all the other Ben jock riders and give him some sort of free pass for throwing the ball to the other team with 10 seconds left in a 1 point game. I gave ben gordon this link on aim...
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) That was like 12 hours ago but I believe he was talking about Borchard, that entire discussion was based around Gload and Borch. Thankfully. Was gonna say... ozuna is a f***ing butcher.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) It's been said repeatedly by our management folks that JT will play 1b once or twice a week this year, with Konerko either DHing or getting the day off. That's 2 first basemen. I don't want Thome there full time obviously, but the extra rest for Konerko will probably do wonders for him. Sure helped when he got offdays last year. I seriously doubt thome plays first that often. One it will risk injury and for two if they want to keep konerko happy ( they did just give him 78349689346 dollars after all) they better be playing him at first. Konerko doesn't like off days and likes it even less when he is not playing first. As do most first baseman...
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) Yes, lets let a guy make the team base on something that may happen once all season. Good idea. Or we could take a player who could actually fill in once in a series and play good defense at a position where he is needed. I usually try to read through a whole thread before posting something but this was too funny. You were not really talking about ozuna i hope?
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Like I said, no way Ozuna is going anywhere. Story on Cintron and Roster situation Actions speak louder than words. I will wait and see in three weeks... carrying three players that all do the same exact thing (ozuna is by far the worst out of cintron and mackowiak). He went over a week last year that he did not get the ball out of the infield... and his defense is just acceptable. Ideally this team still needs a power hitting right handed bat off the bench. Btw balta, how can you say gload is behind two first baseman this year?
  12. How come grease ball never hits it out of the infield during the regular season?
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) werent you just saying he was average at best? Sarcasm is a wonderful thing.
  14. Sweeney makes a sliding catch... he is a great fielder.
  15. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Gload cut it off or was it Redding? Gload... unless redding switched his glove over to his right hand.
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) I think many people on here are caught in fantasy world. There are basically no prospects that will be major league quality after less than a full season in the minors. That is true... but he is suppose to run through the minors very quickly.
  17. QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) what is the criteria? Those are all the people and the amount of posts they have in this thread.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) If he gets 500 ABs you may be right, but he will probably not get enough ABs to overtake Dye or Konerko. Thome should have the K title wrapped up by Aug.1. Iguchi had the most strikeouts last year in the least amount of bats.... do not forget him.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) Who's going to be first? Thome? I see it going thome, anderson, iguchi, konerko, dye... all with 100 strike outs... dye might be not strike out 100 times but the 90's in very likely.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) his swing does appear kinda long. But he is pretty decent at making contact. Anderson is gonna be second on the team in strikeouts barring injury or if he gets benched for an extended period of time.
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) I would like to hear BHAMBARONS weigh in on Sweeney's defense. I believe that poster goes to a ton of Barons games or something like that. Probally has talked about it in the future sox board at some point... but the search still sucks ( it's awful on google).

  23. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Who is kirk heinrich?. I loved the choice of Kirk, but never expected he would take off like this. He never was able to play the point because of Miles, and KU always ran. Really wish his shooting would take off. Such a great shooter in college and in the nba he is pretty pathetic... and it is certainly not because of his lack of wide open shots. Those are actually his favorite to miss.
  24. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) You should just shut up because you're not a real fan. 3y3 s0rrY $1r~!
  25. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) Have you been watching Barons games or something? Ever read mailbags or baseball america... how about baseball think facory? I remember there was a pretty good conversation about him there. His defense is not anything to write home about... but on the other hand it's not something to worry about. To be honest... he does not have many things he does extremely well. Anyone who says otherwise is just saying so to say so. Great swing... plus arm... what else? He is not very fast... have read his reads could be better... and i am not sure about his base running. He has a decent eye... about a .60 differential... but unless he developes serious power int he near future ( next couple years) i cannot see him as our starting right fielder in 2008. It's not that he just hasn't had homerun power... it is also gap power.
