I put this here because i figured it would get answered faster... Well about an hour ago i put more ram in my computer and now all the threads look like that. Just shows up as the first post and then it has it where you have to click on each individual post that a person makes... would take me forever to have to click on each one. None of my soxtalk settings have been changed... and i even cleared my cache for just for s***s and giggles...

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) They wouldnt want to stunt his growth that much... max the devil rays would give is a handful. Stunt his growth? He has been ready for a while now. Five, ten, twenty, or fourty games will not matter in the grand scheme of things.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) Jeff Francouer is hitting .184/.203/.316 so far this season, and he's hitting just .220/.264/.360 for his last 220 ABs. There was a ton of love for this guy around here last July. "Where is our Francouer?" To which, Keith and I both said he was in for some real trouble ahead due to his non-existent control of the strikezone. Looks like the league has figured him out. Funny you mentioned this... After i went through the braves boxscore right now i was about to mention how i said at the end of last season... and the off-season that he will be lucky to crack .260 this season. I have a feeling that is a safe bet...

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) He didn't really deserve the cy young last year though. And 2004 he wasnt anywhere near dominant, and he was horrible his entire career before that. I'm not sold that 2005 was the real Carpenter, he still strikes me as a 10-15 win high 3 low 4 era type pitcher. Three s*** years and three above average years before he came to the national league does not qualify as horrible. His era+ in that time frame was 98... slightly below league average.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) lol..you should quit why you're ahead. His pitching is an adventure for the fielders, hitters, coaching staff and fans. It's all fun and games in a game like today but other than that we might as well just let Uribe finish the game. Uribe throws harder and is more accurate... 3y3 would rather have uribe.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) Off-topic, but has anyone ever had an e-mail read by Hawk and DJ? I send them one every so often, and I've never gotten a response, or heard it read on the air. Well ss2k had one...and hawk mentioned/slaughtered soxtalk.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) ha. 30 posts and already known as the worst poster in soxtalk history. Not even close to the worst ever. Not even the worst this past week.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) what would it take to get him? when is he freed up? Well he has a 12 million dollar option for next year which the twins will not be picking up... unless of course they have a deal worked out ahead of time with a big time spending team. I personally see him going to free agency.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) Are you saying you think Buehrle is likely to start doing drugs, and that that's a likely scenario -- that Buehrle might become a drug addict? I was just mocking him... the comment amused me. QUOTE(Walker2Baines @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Yeah Gooden's lack of work ethic and his drug problems didn't have anything to do with it? Gooden came into the league as a 19 year old. He could basically not work out and still be in shape. Then his body matured and he had to work out but didn't. He also started his drug issues after 85. They came to light after the Mets won the WS. Coaches and management f***ing with everything you do... after you have proven to be the best pitcher in the game likely had a bigger impact than either his liqour addiction of cocaine. Players through out the ages gave been addicted to drugs/ liqour and went on to have hall of fame/extremely good careers. How about from the 1950's and previous? They drank before... during... and after games... yet could still produce. People closest to the organization truly believe if they left him alone he would have went on to have a hall of fame career, addictions or not. His work ethic was also praised his first two years in the league. Once they f***ed with him though...

Omar infante should never bat third.

QUOTE(bulokis @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) I was at the game also and it was a great atmosphere. SOX fans finally are smiling since winning the world series. Dye started the offense up and even though Freddy was pitching soooo slow, he didnt give up a big inning. Torii Hunter is still a pain in the ass. Whatever happened to Luis Castillo? He is out with a hurtful right knee... he legs have been going for a while now.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 01:43 AM) I agree that the 2-6 hitters won't keep up the current pace, but none of them are going completely out of the norm like Chris Shelton. That bodes well for when the 8-9-1 hitters come around. Chris shelton was a career .332 hitter in the minors with a .967 ops... he had also shown very good plate discipline. I don't think it is impossible for him to end up with as high as .950 ops... though i think he will settle into the low .900 range. Afterall he did have a .870 ops in over 400 plate appearances last year. I do love the fact he is doing this with only 285 at-bats in doube and triple a combined though.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 02:53 AM) I think the main argument is that Mark has a good chance to become a 300 winner and HOFer with his current stats as long as he can sustain that rate for the rest of his career. Which is not an easy task by no means, but he has shown nothing to lead us to believe that he won't do it. Dude, nobody is above becoming a drug addict.

QUOTE(Walker2Baines @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) Did you ever see Gooden in 84-85? He was a poster boy for great mechanics. Know what the hell you're talking about before talk. His motion/mechanics got considerably worse after those two seasons. Gooden's first two years in the league he has sensational mechanics... then it was a continues down hill roller coaster for him... he began tipping his pitches and his delivery started becoming awkward compared to before... was clearly not as fluid. His delievery and motion (his first two years in the league) have been thought of as one of the smoothest ever in baseball. It's believe that the mets coaches at the time really f***ed up with him (that and cocaine/liqour). Buehrle is yet to have any sort of hiccups with his delivery. Personally i do not see any reason for buehrle to start changing anything in what will be his sixth full season in the majors this year. He has looked nearly identical out there since day one. This article basically explains how they f***ed him up... http://www.thesportscritics.com/listingsEn...pt=Jeff+Kallman

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 02:36 AM) Think they'd trade us Olivo for Widge straight up? I'd much rather have him as a backup catcher... Laffs...

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) I bet you all of those players outhit Anderson this year... Well if Harris hits the majors that is... At least you are bold.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) DBaho, R44, Heads -- I hope you realize your fighting an endless battle. Jeckle, what happened to the head-banging-on-keyboard avatar? I really thought it fit you nicely... Jeckle completely lives in a fantasy land... it's just useless. He has yet to grasp common concepts @ baseball.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) Ohh and as for the DL you could of said the same thing about Dye 2 years ago... You never know with injuries... Dye had something happen to him that can be considered a freak injury... his injury is hard for some players to over come. Erstad on the other hand is basically an injury waiting to happen. Even when erstad is ''healthy'' he is never at 100%.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) I'm not so sure about that... their only 2 wins so far were against us. We also had a moron is left field (not talking about podsednik for once) and another as the starting pitcher for one of those games.
-
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) Actually I was thinking more along the lines of Darin Erstad... Solid lefty stick... Above average defensive CF... Veteran with World Series experience... and I bet he could be had for a couple of less then top propects... Hell even from in Owens in you want... You do realize he will end up on the dl a couple times with a full season in center (awful idea) and he is due nearly nine million this season. Darin erstad is basically living off one career year... and living quite comfy.
