Merry Christmas Duke.
-
Committee should be ashamed of the path they gave Duke. Cal is an embarrassingly bad team. There's 6-7 NIT teams better than Cal.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 01:11 AM) If New Mexico being a #3 seed wasn't the biggest seeding joke I've ever seen, Villanova being a #2 was. St. Mary's still has a very good team though, and I think they have a legit shot at winning this region and pulling a George Mason. Saint Mary's hasn't had anyone that could match up with Samhan and Ben Allen. However, Baylor's Josh Lomers is 7' 280 is playing very well right now. Udoh will also cause problems inside. I think Samhan will be neutralized inside to an extent, but St. Mary's shooters could cause big problems for Baylor's 2-3 zone.

Well Chas tried to start a fight, but Demarcus didn't give in.

My bracket is officially DONE. But I love it. Now Kentucky and Duke need to go down and I will LOVE this tourney.

Odds on a Cousins-McFarland fight tonight? 2-1? 3-1?

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) UNC Miss St was as good a game as you will see. I just never could figure out why MSU's offense ignored Varnardo all season long, he actually has some nice moves to compliment his dominant defense. If I had a pick somewhere 12-20 in the draft he would be an ideal choice for me.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) I'm sick of mediocrity with our basketball program. Leonard Hamilton will never amount to anything more than what we have right now. He brings in the talent, but can't coach them. There's a problem when everyone says you are one of the most talented teams in the country, yet you can't score more than 20 points in the first half of a NCAA tournament basketball game. It would be scary to think what this team could be if we actually had a coach. Too bad our athletic department could give two s***s about basketball. I don't know much about FSU basketball, but aren't you guys having more success right now than you have had since the Sura, Ward, Alien head days? FSU clearly has the talent to be a Sweet 16 type team, but Hamilton just needs to hire a great X's and O's coach on the bench. Most of the black head coaches of today are in the same boat. But that's another story. -
Hewitt might have just caused GT to lose with that timeout. Brilliant.
-
Gary Johnson choked that one away for UT.
-
Pretty amazing how entitled the Longhorns players think they are, both in football and now in basketball. They just feel that if they show up to the game, they have done their part.
-
I've never seen a team not even hit rim on layup after layup attempt. Dan Geriot out is big, but this is absurd for Richmond.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) St. Mary's really is fun to watch. 31 rebounds for St. Mary's to 9 for Richmond. It's hilarious to watch.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 07:34 AM) Just makes me sad to think if only DePaul had a wee bit of recruiting capabilities.... Chicago Area players in NCAA Tournament Just use the Oklahoma recruiting strategy, pay players. OU cheating yet again. -
Seton Hall's uh "player" Herb Pope just punched Texas Tech's Darko Cohadaravic in the nuts for absolutely no reason, this was after punching him at the other end of the court on a rebound and no call.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Those kind of things don't happen internally. Its the people who don't like you who turn you in. Rick Barnes and most of the Big 12 coaches despise Drew. Drew is a big time negative recruiter. If Barnes had something on Baylor, he would have turned them in by now.

Fathom where have you heard Udoh is coming back? Everything I have heard is that Udoh is going to seriously test the waters along with Dunn. Baylor loses the only PG on their roster in Tweety Carter as well, I wouldn't be shocked if Drew leaves. Perry Jones isn't really an instant impact like a Durant or Beasley even though he's ranked similarly. He's very similar to John Henson at UNC this year, he will struggle offensively, but can contribute in other ways as the season progresses. Baylor could be in the NIT again next year with the PG questions. We know Carter and Lomers will be gone as seniors, but I'm also expecting Udoh to leave and be a late lotto pick. I think Dunn sticks around another year, but you never know.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) I figure worse case, Iowa hires Keno Davis. Former Hawkeye, young, pretty charasmatic, and has done a solid job. Not an exciting hire though so I'm hoping they can hit it big. I'm also a realist and our program isn't what it was a few years ago. They do have a new practice facility being built though and they are 4th in big ten spend on basketball which should be enticing to plenty of coaches. Iowa might as well make a run at Scott Drew and see if he's interested.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 07:56 AM) I think that is your reason. Plus, everyone who remotely follows college basketball knows Nova. They know they are very much like the team that went to the Final Four last year and everyone knows Scottie Reynolds. Also, Villanova has no bad losses; you could argue Baylor has a couple. That being said, I have Nova advancing out of that region. I just love their guards and if they are on their game, which they havent been at all times lately, I just dont see them losing until Indianapolis. Colorado and Alabama aren't good losses, but they are both around .500 teams and those were the first two losses of the season for Baylor. Even comparing Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fischer to Tweety Carter and LaceDarius Dunn is interesting. Nova two: 32.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 7.3 apg, 2.8 spg, 4.7 topg Baylor two: 35.1 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 7.9 apg, 2.6 spg, 5.2 topg Then you throw in Ekpe Udoh for Baylor, the best defensive big man in the nation, and I just don't see Nova's advantage this year. Nova clearly has the tourney experience and coaching advantage it seems, but we will see how far it gets them.

I just don't see how Villanova is viewed in a better light than Baylor. Baylor, 25-7, losses Colorado, Alabama, Kansas, KSU X 2, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M. No losses by more than 7 points. Wins over Xavier, Arizona State, Morgan State, Jackson State, Texas Tech X 2, Oklahoma State, Texas X 3, Mizzou, and Texas A&M. Villanova, 24-7, losses Temple, Georgetown, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, West Virginia, Marquette. 18 point loss, 13 point loss, and 10 point loss. Wins over Dayton, Mississippi, Maryland, Marquette X 2, Louisville, Georgetown, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Seton Hall, South Florida, Cincinatti Baylor, 9 NCAA wins, 3 NIT wins, 7 losses by 39 points total Nova, 7 NCAA wins, 5 NIT wins, 7 losses by 61 points total Baylor has legit 1-5 starters. Nova's guards won't intimidate Tweety Carter, Lacedarius Dunn, and Quincy Acy, and Baylor clearly has the edge down low with Udoh and Lomers. I don't think people realize just how good Baylor is and just how much talent they have accumulated.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) I'm surprised to see this from a Big 12 fan. I feel like this 'what if Texas flicks on the switch?' argument is nullified by the fact that there is no switch to flick on. They haven't played a single good game since conference play started. 1. My hatred of Kentucky supersedes my disbelief in Rick Barnes coaching job this year. 2. This is the first time all year that Kentucky will be matched up with just about equal talent on the court.
-
Kansas, Syracuse, West Virginia, Baylor Kansas vs. West Virginia Kansas winning it all. I have Kentucky losing to Texas in the second round.

I'm loving Undercover Boss that comes on after the Amazing Race every week. Great stuff. I watched the Real World when I was young, but managed to skip the rest of the reality TV world until I started watching the Amazing Race and now Undercover Boss.
