  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 05:02 PM) Headcase More and more kids like Murray and Baker Mayfield have insane helicopter parents that have to be involved in everything and get their way.
  2. Had to join this conversation, it was blowing me away. 1. Greg, why in the WORLD would you be friends with this guy? He's doing terrible things to his wife and kids, and using you as an excuse for this garbage. You need to cut ties with this crap as soon as possible. The wife knows what's going on, the husband knows what's going on, so the kids know something is wrong whether the parents want to see it or not. Tensions are undoubtedly building with the wife, and it has a great chance of blowing up in an emotional, traumatic experience for the kids. Do the kids, wife, and yourself a favor, and cut ties. Tell your friend that as long as he's doing stupid s***, and hurting his family, you won't support that. 2. I get the feeling that Greg is a social experiment based on trolling message boards.
  3. I've been meaning to ask, what happened to Kap and Scenario? I used to work with Kap on websites a long time ago, and Scenario was my moderator on the Scout White Sox site before coming here. I miss seeing them around.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) The Stoops coaching tree doesn't exactly measure up to Hayden Fry's. His brother, Brett Venables, Spurrier's son, Leach, Mark Mangino, Chuck Long.... Compared to Ferentz, Bill Snyder, the Stoops brothers, Jay Norvell, Bielema, Barry Avarez, Jim Leavitt, Dan McCarney, etc. Depends if you want to include the Leach coaching tree. Art Briles, Baylor Dana Holgorson, WVU Kliff Kingsbury, TTU Sonny Dykes, Cal Ruffin McNeil, ECU Others like Lincoln Riley, Sonny Combie, Seth Littrell, etc are OC's at BCS schools (OU, TCU, UNC) and will get head coaching opportunities soon.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) If TCU had played an FBS team, even a mediocre one, instead of Samford they would have jumped OSU without the 13th game. Outside of their 9 game Big 12 schedule, they played a good Minnesota team in OOC. The had one of the tougher schedules in the nation. Baylor on the other hand never schedules teams with a pulse in OOC.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 05:32 PM) Baylor Would be shocked if Baylor isnt playing Ohio State at the end. Briles is dirty as hell, but he can coach and has several first round talents on offense and defense.
  7. I guess I missed the issues. Article wasn't anything overly detailed, but gets the point across to Sox fans that aren't inclined to follow the minors.
  8. Micah Johnson 0-5 5 k's. Ouch.
  9. Yency Almonte is streaking his way up our rankings.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) Which is why I voted Fulmer, personally. I just can't see that argument. Anderson, 22, hitting .309 in his 453 AA at-bats with improving defense. Fulmer, 21, 4.50 era in very limited innings at high A/rookie. IF Fulmer impresses at high A and then continues success at AA next year and sticks as a starter, Anderson will likely be with the Sox already. Fulmer is only 6 months younger and well behind in production at higher levels. But, very nice list overall, very few disagreements here.
  11. Anderson 3-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Anderson/May is a fantastic 1-2.
  12. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:09 PM) For??? Hopefully just a high five.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) Supposedly it's Norris, Alford, and Matt Boyd. That's crazy for a rental. No way Price stays there in offseason. Yuck, this deal is about as bad as it gets for Sox fans.
  14. Yeah, I'm just referring to big time flameout relievers from my youth. LoBar was the biggest I can remember. I was sure he was going to be our lockdown closer for a decade.
  15. Don't forget good ole Lorenzo Barcelo.
  16. Top 10 guess 1. Anderson 2. Fulmer 3. Adams 4. Montas 5. Danish 6. Micah 7. Michalczewski 8. Hawkins 9. May 10. Adolfo
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 08:29 AM) Recap posted. Name getting my attention lately: Danny Dopico. Dopico and Lassiter need to be given a shot at Kannapolis.
  18. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) Anderson four hits and three stolen bases in two seven inning games. I still can't figure out what the Sox have with Anderson.
  19. Chris Sale to the Cubs for Schwarber, Javier Baez, CJ Edwards, Corey Black, and Gleyber Torres. Cubs would still be loaded and have arguably the best pitcher in the game locked up. Would the Cubs be giving up enough? You have a 26 year old that is arguably the best pitcher in baseball and happens to be locked up long-term at great value, how would you ever get his true value? Sox would get a potential all-star catcher, 2 guys rotation ready, a 2B/SS/CF with very good power, and a very good SS prospect for the future. I got through this whole post and became sick to my stomach at the thought of trading Sale. I feel like Quintana wouldn't get the right return since he's not a big name per se, and Shark being a rental wouldn't return a lot.
  20. How do you leave Danish out of the top 6? A 20 year old in AA that has posted a 2.83 ERA in July's 19 IP. Yes, he may just be Jon Garland, but he's going to pitch in the majors for a long time as a #3-4 starter. I like Jacob May for instance, but I don't see how you can put him above Danish.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:54 PM) http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23872...or-15-16-Season Unbelievable but not shocking, I guess. Greg Oden v2 unfortunately.
  22. Hoffman for Samardzija makes a lot of sense for both sides. Hoffman isn't a can't miss prospect, but the Sox loved him in the draft and he still has the potential to be a #4-#5 starter in a year or so and could eventually reach his #2 starter potential again. His numbers are starting to improve, as he has 14 K's in his last 15.2 IP with 4 BB's and only 3 ER.
  23. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 07:47 PM) Er, strike that. Fulmer just said he'll be reporting to Arizona on the 10th. Weird. Rodon did the same thing. They go there for evaluation and to fix any minor adjustments the coaches see. Fulmer should be in Kanny soon.
  24. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) Passan is suggesting Benintendi for Boston. Though he's a bit less connected then others for draft stuff. Everyone is putting him with Boston.
  25. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) Twins taking Cameron according to BA Heyman says Tyler Jay
