QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 20, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) I'm not so much concerned about "packing on muscle" as much as providing enough protein to my body as necessary due to the increased strain/damage to my muscles as a result of entering the phase of the workout that focuses more on strength building. So ultimately, I'm looking at two things; looking for ways to add some protein intake, but also looking to change some of the sources of my protein intake. Sounds like a combination of protein powders and vegetable-based proteins might do the job. Here are a few options I use. The ultimate: 3.5 pounds, zero sugar, 30g of protein, but pricey http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-Pl...+Whey+Chocolate Step down: 5 pounds, small sugar, 24g of protein http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-St...d+Standard+Whey

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) Speaking of, he's actually having a really good season in the California League this year. Still only 22. Had to laugh, 100 K's to 9 BB's. 9 walks in almost 460 plate appearances, that's some serious swinging.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) I never wasnt. Why cant OSU players sell their own memorabilia? It makes no sense. I can see both sides. If you let players sell their own memorabilia, then you will have big boosters paying players through memorabilia "sales". I'm not naive enough to think payments don't already happen, but if you make it legal, then suddenly Oregon, Oklahoma State, Arkansas etc are going to line up top 10 classes every single season. -
I'm a little surprised nobody has Semien as our #1. He gets better at each level and is seemingly a five tool player. Garcia's lack of walks really temper my high hopes for him. He's still doing great in AAA at barely 22, I just don't know sustainable it is in his future.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 10:34 AM) If Sox do get number 2 pick, and the Astros take Rondon. Who do you want the Sox to take? I'd like Tyler Beede Jacob Gatewood would be my choice at the moment.

Who was the last Sox prospect to finish with more walks than k's? Jeremy Reed almost a decade ago?

Trey Burke to Portland in a trade? Say what?

I don't even care much about this draft, but it is hilariously absurd. Noel and McLemore are the two best players in this draft, and still available.

Aww, somehow I created my bracket without joining the group.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) That may or may not be true. But its one thing to knock a kid for going to Kentucky, its another to knock someone going to Duke, Stanford, etc. Those top notch schools and it would make total sense for a kid like Jabari to actually care about education. Duke basketball is league average in the ACC academically. They aren't anywhere close to Stanford. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) It was more that Tubs hated Lubbock. He was well on his way to being fired after ending the bowl streak last year. Best for both sides that he departed now. He needed 8+ wins next season just to keep his job. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) As much as I dislike IU, I think they should win this game pretty handily. I'd be surprised if it was within single digits. UNC plays extremely uptempo and plays pretty poor defense. I just can't see them hanging with the Hoosiers. And I just looked up the line. IU -9. Sounds about right and I still think they cover. I'm expecting a close game until the last few minutes, and I think IU will pull away by about 10. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 10:11 AM) Clemson, FSU, and Virginia Tech all just got guaranteed home-and-home series with Notre Dame at a minimum of two out of every six years. That's not insignificant when considering their decisions to leave the ACC. It's not that significant. The teams would have home and home games with Oklahoma and Texas in the Big 12 and Alabama, LSU, etc in the SEC. Not to mention the future TV deals of the 4 superconferences. Each of the 64 teams would seemingly be guaranteed 30M a year, minimum. -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 09:57 AM) I'd love to see FSU in the SEC - but Florida and Georgia would never allow it Same with South Carolina and Clemson. But the SEC's next choices would be Virginia Tech and ?? (NC State?) UNC and UVA would make sense for the Big 10. FSU, Miami, Clemson, Louisville, Cincinatti, and ?? (Georgia Tech?) would be options for the Big 12. -

Georgetown and St. Johns as non-football members is a possibility for the ACC. That would seemingly push Clemson, FSU, Virginia Tech, etc to enhance their desires to leave. This might officially start the chain reaction of creating the 4 16 team superconferences, and the ACC would be the power conference left out. I tried to add my ideas on how it would shake out, and my head almost exploded. -

I used to listen to games, read all the scouting reports, research all the draft picks etc. I spent many years from whitesox.com, to FanHome.com, then Scout.com, and Soxtalk.com talking prospects with you guys. From Whitesox.com, I got to know Sean Lowes sister really well. It was crazy times. I remember when this site almost merged with Scout.com, but they wanted to force Jason to offer pay-for-access information as well and he wouldn't do it. Now I'm relegated to reading the box scores, and seeing what you guys think.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread

NBA Draft measurements, http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-...ine&sort=12 Harrison Barnes really helped himself disproving the notion he's not an elite athlete. He still out thinks himself on the court and is tentative. Kendall Marshall has a 37 inch vertical, never would have guessed it was over 32 inches. Miles Plumlee with a 40 inch vertical leap at 7'. Meyers Leonard did well for himself. Sullinger and Henson didn't show well. -

Shabazz to UCLA, not a shocker considering... "Asia Muhammad, Bazz's sister, is ranked No. 386 on the WTA Tour and has an adidas deal. UCLA is also an adidas school." -
QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) Are there rumors he might head there? He's not going anywhere. He's getting NBA money to coach NBA talent at UK. At this point he doesn't even have to buy talent anymore. He has become the NBA factory. Kids know they can show up, not worry about going to class, and be on TV every game. I am amazed at how hard he gets these kids to play. Coach K and Calipari are the only two elite coaches I can say that about.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 09:07 AM) Averaging 10 assists a game in college basketball is almost impossible. Add in the fact IU plays in the Big 10 with a lot of quality defenses, and I would say it would be impossible for Ferrell to average 10 assists a game. Kendall Marshall is one of the best passers I've ever seen in college basketball, and he averaged 9.7 assists per game for a run and gun offense with NBA quality players around him. As for the McDonald's game last night, the talent level continues to dwindle it seems. Shabazz was pretty impressive, but after that, the talent level quickly faded. Never seen so many missed dunks by players simply not elevating high enough. Scouts absolutely ripped on this class all week, saying they've never seen so few potential pros on the McD roster. You aren't kidding, this is easily the worst class I have seen in the last decade. Add in the massive NBA defections this season, and college basketball will be even more watered down next season. Good ole Roy is about to lose 5 guys(Marshall, Henson, Barnes, Zeller and likely McAdoo). Paypal Cal is going to purchase another insane class and own college basketball until the NCAA steps in. The NBA either needs a 2 year minimum, or get rid of the rule altogether.
