Here it is folks. I have here all of the songs that you Soxtalker’s have chosen as your 2 favorite classic rock songs. There are 4 sections, each containing 10 songs and 5 matches. Choose the song that you like the best by bolding it. Section 1. I was one of the many that thought the Steelers wouldn’t go deep into the playoffs and now I’m here bidding $30 on them to win. It’s going to be a good one.
-
Wow Rex, that’s a pretty good list, but I was only asking for two. Is it possible for you to choose two songs out of that list?
-
Submissions for songs to this tournament will end tomorrow at 3pm CT. After that, I will start Round 1 by posting songs against each other and then the voting will begin.

My friend at work was telling me about this just this morning. We came to the subject that I posted on message boards, but not on chat rooms. It amazed me just how sick these perverts are to go and look for a certain address and then get busted.

Cub fan or no Cub fan, that is f***ed up. But of course, if it were Wrigley than it would make sense as to why the guy did such a thing.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 02:46 AM) Nice. I seriously thought he died till I read that he was working out, having sex, fighting three ninjas, etc. BTW, nice sig.

Come on, let’s get some more nominations in . . . .

Congrats. to the winners! You guys have showed that your intellectual posting has made a positive impact here at Soxtalk, and for that you are rewarded.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) I agree. They fail to end a joke on a high note so many times because of that. That's my biggest knock on Family Guy. But other than that, Family Guy is good. It might be cruel and repulsive most of the time, but that’s what makes the show what it is. Some good laughs here and there. You get many more laughs out of Family Guy than the Simpsons.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Good buyer and received payment very quickly. Would do business with.

I read, sometime ago, that the writers will stop making new episodes till the motion picture came out, which should be in a couple of years. Probably 3yrs. at the most. And I do agree that its been a while since the last decent Simpsons episode. The last episode that I remember liking in this decade is the one with the Rolling Stones. Everything else is garbage.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) What do you classify as "classic rock"? For me, any rock song that is recognizable or something from the 60’s & 70’s. That’s just me though.
-
I’m starting a tournament on Soxtalk’s favorite classic rock songs. All you have to do is post your 2 fav. songs and only 2. Once there’s enough nominations I will match certain songs against each other and then you, the posters, will pick the song you like the most. I’ll start off by choosing mine: Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles Echoes - Pink Floyd

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) If Halloween III were completely detached from the series it wouldn't be bashed nearly to level it currently is. From horror movie standards, the plot is rather innovative. I'm convinced bashing this sequel is an art casual horror fans have developed. Problem for Carpenter, and supporters of the film, is the hatred for Halloween III has transcended generations. Understand when this movie first came out in theaters there was no information available to explain how far the series would progress. Promotional spots featured on television didn't make it clear whether Michael Myers were included or not. Very deceptive marketing. Thus, when fans viewed the film and realized they've been subjected to a completely original storyline, they forever damned the movie. Similar to how Jake Gyllenhal fans have damned "Bubble Boy." I remember how Svengoolie used to show Halloween III every Halloween. Like you said, if you take the film as if it weren’t attached to the Michael Myers series, than the movie isn’t all that bad.

Da Steelers

There are only a couple of movies in there that would grab my attention. True Lies 2, Jurassic Park IV, Mad Max: Fury Road, and King Conan: Crown of Iron. And did I see a sequel for Mrs. Doubtfire? One of my favorite comedy movies.

Super Bowl XL: Steelers vs. Seahawks
Yoda replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I’m tired of picking against Pittsburgh. A 6th seed team that is hot and has won on the road. This team proved all of those people (including me) that chose the Colts to beat them, WRONG. It will be a very close game as it is a strong match up. -
Wow. . . what the hell was Jalen Rose doing all that time? 81 freakin' points! Mercy...

QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) WYWH could have been a good EP but made it an exceptionally long listen for what it was(album). Inconsistent means it has 2 good songs and three ones that i'd consider "b-sides" or "not to be taken seriously in their catalogue" Well, that’s you. For me, I feel like all five songs are A songs. Everyone has a different perspective on something and I respect that.
-
QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Wish you were here? That album was so inconsistant and ran long. Now granted i'm not a fan of later pink floyd but i think you'd still have to go with the generic (in terms of always mentioned) dark side. How did it run long? There’s only five songs to the album and it all totals to about 45mins. WYWH was a very good follow up to DSOTM. All five songs are good pieces of composition. And I’m not quite sure what you mean by inconsistent?

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) You guys didn't nominate him, and even if he was, he's not a poster here anymore. Whaaaa......?

I probably missed it, but can someone please tell me why Anthrax isn’t in there?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) Here is my prediction on this... Z and the Cubs already have a basic idea in mind for a long term deal. They will announce a 4-5 year deal worth over $50-60 million at about 12 million per year before Z has his arbit hearing. I don’t understand why anyone would want to sign a long-term deal with the Cubs. The team is not getting any better and the organization can’t put together a team that can be a threat come October.
