Goblet of Fire Burns Up Box Office
November 18-20 1.) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire $101,425,000 2.) Walk the Line $22,400,000 3.) Chicken Little $14,769,000 4.) Derailed $6,526,000 5.) Zathura $5,100,000 Pre-teen wizards conjured up amazing box office magic as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film in the wildly popular fantasy series, exploded in its opening weekend generating the largest debut ever for the franchise. The Johnny Cash film Walk the Line also enjoyed a solid launch while most holdovers in the top ten suffered heavy declines with most tumbling by more than 50% each. Overall, the marketplace delivered the second biggest weekend of the year behind only the Memorial Day holiday frame.

"My Humps"
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) Ugly? No. Do I find other women (yes, my wife included) to being MUCH more attractive? Yes. Since you’re bragging about your wife, why not show a pic. of her?

Harry Potter
I own the 1st and 2nd movies. Haven’t even seen the 3rd one. Only way that I’ll see Goblet of Fire is if I rent or buy the 3rd film.

"My Humps"
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) I had "my lumps" up there as the worst song going right now till I heard the song "laffy taffy" once you hear this one, which should be sooner rather than later you may literally throw your stereo out your car window. I have no idea who or what sings this song which no doubt compares the female form to a piece of candy but it is bad beyond belief. D4L sings it. That is if you want to call it singing. How do I know this you may ask? Because it is one of the top downloaded songs on iPod. As well as the ringtone for it. FWIW, a dozen of freshman girls were walking down the halls today singing “My Humps.” I’ve heard the song only once (and not all of it) but it seems like wherever I go this damn song is there. The weight training room, Circuit City, Cable TV, EVERYWHERE! :banghead

What the hell is wrong with Ryan Dempster?
Judging by what I’ve heard and seen from him, he’s a pretty funny guy.

Blum Returns to Padres
Thank You Geoff Blum for that Game 3 swing. You were worth trading for. BTW, here are two things that I’ll never forget about Blum: Game 3 swing and that crazy hair of his.

"My Humps"
What the hell? Seriously! I heard that song while I was in my brother’s car yesterday and I couldn’t help but change the station. I’ve heard of tons and tons of bad music, but this is just vile.

The Godfather Thread...
The Godfather, to me, is the best trilogy ever! Well, not really because there is another trilogy out there that I enjoy more. I’ll leave you wondering what trilogy I’m talking about... The Godfather II is better than the 1st. DeNiro, IMO, is very under appreciated for his performance. Without him the film would not be the same. As for Godfather III... I agree with FlaSoxx. Sucked major donkey balls.

Catch-All Anything Thread
GEEZ... it is cold out there! I went outside just to get the mail and that was more than enough. My friends and I were talking about going to the park tomorrow and play some football but if the weather is going to be like this, then screw football.

Matsui agrees to contract
Not bad for Matsui but definitely not good for us. I just don’t see Pauly coming back. I love the guy and seeing him back in the Southside will be the biggest signing of the off season for us. But its been real quiet lately and it just seems like Konerko won’t be back.

Pujols named NL MVP
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) and Jones doesn't play excellent defense? Jones has been a magnificent CF since he came up. What he did this season for the Braves was incredible. When Chipper Jones and the rest of the crew were on the DL he carried the team and helped the team go on to the playoffs for the 14th season in a roll. Jones is also still young and I wouldn’t have had any problem if he were the MVP.

Pujols named NL MVP
That’s horrible. Imagine how many RBI’s Jones would have had if he had hit better with RISP. Congrats. to Pujols! He plays excellent defense and the offensive production that he brings to the team, since he came up, has been nothing short of excellent.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
Wow. I just found out about this when I saw this thread. He was one of my favorite wrestlers. I liked him because he made me laugh. Though I do remember him being very big. Its sad to see him pass away. RIP EDDIE.

Bulls @ warriors.
I’ll be tuning in to this game and the Cowboys @ Eagles.

A-Rod AL MVP
Like many, I don’t like A-Rod but I also don’t hate the man. He deserves the award and I congratulate him. BTW, Pujols for NL MVP!

Thanksgiving dinner plans?
I’m not sure where my family and I will be having Thanksgiving or what we’ll have that day. The last time we had a Thanksgiving dinner in our house was about four years ago so we may celebrate the feast in my house this year.

Chicken Little Holds Onto #1 Spot
November 11 - 13 1.) Chicken Little $32,026,000 2.) Zathura $14,000,000 3.) Derailed $12,800,000 4.) Get Rich or Dye Tryin' $12,500,000 5.) Jarhead $12,264,000 Despite a handful of new films hitting the box office, Disney's animated hit Chicken Little remained the top choice for moviegoers this weekend spending its second consecutive weekend at number one. Targeting specific audience segments and displaying respectable debuts were the frame's three new pics - the sci-fi adventure Zathura, the Jennifer Aniston thriller Derailed, and the 50 Cent drama Get Rich or Die Tryin'. The period piece Pride & Prejudice also made a stellar bow in the top ten despite opening in limited release. For the sixth straight weekend, ticket sales were down compared to last year. But the marketplace did show impressive breadth this weekend as five films grossed over $10M a piece and for the first time all year, five films in the top ten generated averages of more than $5,000 each.
