  1. Except for occasionally cutting in front of the corner outfielders to make a catch, especially when they are flat-footed, I couldn't agree more.
  2. The next half an hour plus is gonna be a butt-squeezer. "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon....!"
  3. I like it the way it is...and about Padilla, that's why Ozzie was so pissed off at Tracey. The pitchers don't bat, so you HAVE to hit someone on the other team. I'm not condoning bean ball...but I understand the point.
  4. 1 poster that gives the lightbulb a pithy nickname...like "dark" bulb.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Haha, I was actually thinking of saying that when I originally replied. Great minds think alike Yes...yes they do.
  6. It's on their Insider site, so I don't want to post, but it basically has the White Sox interested in Ken Griffey, Jr. again. Why, oh why, would we want Junior now. we would have him for another two-and-a-half years, and have BA, Sweeney and Owens on the way. What is the point? I know we've wanted him in the past, but let it go.
  7. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) FREDDY LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GONNA GET FINGERED AGAIN BUT SETTLED DOWN AND HAD A GOOD OUTING!!! Ew. HELLS YEAH!!!
  8. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) No. But it'll seem faster.
  9. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Sure, I mean what 3-year old wouldn't want his birthday party theme to be "The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer"?? make sure to watch the video too. http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_167094324.html Errr...uhhhh...yeah.
  10. A post a day relating to the amount of lightbulbs at any one time. "Well, on Mondays there are only 20 lightbulbs on the shelves while on Saturday, there are 100. Should I be worried?"
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) El Duque 06? the 5.51 ERA? The whopping 4 starts for the Mets thus far? Huh? sorry, I meant the El duque that shut down the Red Sox in the playoffs. So, when we meet the Red Sox again, riske will pull an El Duque. And it's good to see you again, Mr. Sarcasm.
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:36 PM) I've learned to complete ignore any harsh sentiments coming out of Boston or New York. If you remember the Loaiza trade, you would have thought the Yankess acquired a right-handed Warren Spahn. They'll talk up Lopez as if he was one of the game's better prospects, Gammons will enlighten the country on the trade, and, before you know it, the Red Sox fleeced the White Sox. Things are par for the course. Good. Let everyone think that...and when Riske pulls an El Duque '06, who'll be laughing then?
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) So, the one thing I will note is that the Sons of Sam Horn, and Boston's media in general, appear to have soured rather quickly on Riske. He's been described thus far as inconsistent, among other things. But we have Coop!!! That should straighten him out right quick!
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) I'm not mourning Lopez, by any means. I'm just saying that Riske's injuries this year make me a little less than enthusiastic about him staying healthy for the year. If he can, then by all means it's great, and if he can't, we certainly haven't lost much, but I'm not too excited until he's played a few games with us and stayed healthy for us. C'mon, man, we've got the best trainer in the game in Herm Schneider. Don't go by the back injuries our players have because Herm's back is a total mess and Crede had herniated disks, which a trainer can't do much about during the season. PLUS, look at the "injury risks" the Sox have picked up over the last couple of years: Jim Thome and Jermaine Dye. I think they are doing pretty well for themselves and haven't been injured. *knocks very hard on wood*

  16. Not bad for a 57 year old!!! Let's keep it going, Count!
  17. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) Yesterday, the Weather Channel said that Alberto would unlikely reach hurricane strength and it would probably weaken today. Oops. It's too bad, because if it became a category 5...then we could have called it Alberto VO 5. *dodging rotten vegetables*
  18. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) sadly...this is my generations martin luther king...bahhhhhhhhhhhh I certainly hope you aren't talking about Kenan Thompson...
  19. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) Nuke agrees with Balta and the ACLU! The end is nigh people! I think I'm going to be sick... :puke . Yep, there it goes!
  20. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) its amazing how people don't understand what the courts actually ruled. It isn't our right, its that the government doesn't have the right. There is a difference. Everything we are allowed to do isn't because the government allows us to. Its the opposite. Everything the government does its becasue WE THE PEOPLE allow them to. And that's the way it should be. The Government has no right to tell my wife what to do with her body. What really pisses me off is when people say, "Yeah, well you're pro-abortion!" Actually, no I'm not, I'm pro choice, which is a completely different thing. I think you can be pro choice and pro life at the same time...here's how: When it affects YOUR life, then you say, not a chance in hell, I don't support it and I won't condone it. When if affects EVERYONE ELSE'S life, then you say, I wouldn't do it, but it's not up to me. See how easy that is? PS...bmags, this wasn't directed at you...
  21. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) i would probably get thrown in prison if i didn't pay my federal income tax, even though i would love to not pay it due to the fact i think the government wastes most of it. Well that's a whole other can of worms, mr_genius. Legislating marriage is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. Hey Republicans, I thought you were supposed to leave that sort of thing to the states? Isn't that how it works?
  22. Hmmm...Grimsley asks to be released...forcibly retired because no one will touch him...I KNOW!!! 50 game suspension!!! BRILLIANT!!!
  23. And you certainly can't blame Walker for BA! I mean, Anderson is pressing so hard he could make diamonds out of coal. Although, I must say, he looked better yesterday. Hopefully, now that Ozzie said he's not going to send him down, maybe he'll relax and just swing free. I think BA should spend some time with Thome! Talk about a beautiful swing!
  24. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) LOUD NOISES!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M YELLING ABOUT!!! Awesome game SOX!!!! Keep beatin' the AL Central down!
