  1. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 11:16 AM) Lets kick some Ray ass. I bet CQ isn't back until the next series. FAIL.
  2. On the bright side... TCQ IS BACK!!!!!
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) i'd say more like 1.000 with that pic. I'll give you .667, how about that.
  4. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) Yeah, because you know teams would be lining up to claim Wise off of waivers. Like I said...it ain't a good reason. Also, Wise "bats" left handed. If that's what you call it.
  5. It's not a good reason, but it's a reason...Anderson has options left, Wise doesn't.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) Since when does Jermaine Dye have a poor arm? Scott Podsednik and Dwayne Wise have poor arms. JD does not. Not to derail the thread, but Dye's arm isn't as good as it was when he was first here. Still above average, but not nearly as good. Pods has surprised me...he's not as much of a noodle arm as he was.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) He's been in LF most games. I thought he hasn't played the field in back-to-back games...am I wrong?
  8. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) If you don't need to physically condition in order to perform, then it's not a sport. How about golf or auto racing? You CAN physically condition, but you don't HAVE to. Just curious as to what you think.
  9. Any event that is judged by a third party to determine the winner is not a sport. This includes diving, gymnastics and figure skating. They are athletic events, I do enjoy watching diving, but they are not sports and should not be included in the Olympics. Also WSF1986...those ARE unpopular opinions!!!
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:46 AM) LINK Whew.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) Oh...my...god......................
  12. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) Batting .333.
  13. Caddyshack, Fletch, The American President, The Hudsucker Proxy, Field of Dreams, any one of the Mel Brooks movies between Young Frankenstein and Spaceballs. I have no idea how many times, but those are the ones I can think of that I've seen the most. EDIT: Oh, and Animal House and Star Wars.
  14. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) agreed, i think if scott rides the year out healthy with the sox we sign him to a 1 year deal to keep CF warm for Jordan; Danks going into next year will be one sports hernia away from starting for the sox and backing his brother up. I seriously doubt KW will make the following moves but that is why I'm a fan. Teahen would be a great asset for this team, his ability to produce across the diamond and stationing him at 3B, until Dayan or Morel are ready is perfect, it gives us time to not rush either of them and see what we truly have in both; and it puts beckham in more natural position where is bat his All star caliber. Hermida just gives us more insurance and a 25 year old with previous Major league success in a vast ball park that is in need of a change of scenery that still has a lot of upside and could slot into LF/RF if Quentin or dye go down, and going into next year gives us some youth in the outfield. Snell is killing it in the minors and a great buy low candidate, hes stated he doesn't want to pitch for the pirates and his GM has gone on record saying his contract was a mistake. Maybe Teahen will come cheaply(i can hope) if the price isn't what ive stated go out and get him and move Beckham to 2B then will have a quality bat across the whole diamond. Hermida for Dotel Teahen for Fields + Egbert/Omogrosso/Link/Nunez? Snell for Getz (they're going to need a 2B after they trade Sanchez) doing all this puts some questions on our roster to bed. I bet they don't trade Freddy Sanchez. They've already got enough bad press. And they are supposedly talking about extensions for he and Jack Wilson. I do like your idea to trade for Snell though.
  15. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 03:58 PM) Woohoo! It's cold as hell here today, it's 95 out right now! Wear a sweater.
  16. Per ESPN: Lugo DFA'd. No need to trade for him now DBAHO.
  17. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) Thanx CanofCorn, I pretty much feel it is going to really take some team getting fleeced for Ricciardi to pull the trigger. On some Jays boards I have seen fans say get the haul they want and then once Halladay becomes a FA sign him back to Toronto. Wild huh?? I would bet my left nut that Halladay will only go back to Toronto as an opposing pitcher. And you are very welcome.

    QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 09:36 AM) Not a lot... Yummy.
  19. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) Oh you are so not cool. Either are any of you...it's JEMAINE! Yis.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 01:16 PM) I'll do it for free. Just give me a 6 pack of Sam Adams. What time do you want me to show up in my 1976 conversion van? Did you get the inside re-carpeted yet?
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) Now you just take the first letter of the person's first name and stick the first syllable of their last name on it. Damn straight, M-Del.
  22. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) Hi all, not much going on. ON MLBTR they reference a new article from ESPN Insider (I know I know) saying how KW will at least make a bid. Not much else going on. Really slow week. Anyone have the Insider account? Just looking to see what they say in a paraphrase. Basically say that KW is "under the radar." But they mentioned a package of Richard, Poreda, Flowers and Viciedo, but then go on to say that won't get it done and that the Sox don't have what the Jays would want considering Slayer is untouchable. So, really...they are saying nothing.
  23. It's amazing how far their production values have come. Amazing.
  24. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 09:36 AM) I believe Albert Pujols takes PEDs, and I can't understand how the national media has so quickly signed off on his numbers as legit. Didn't we just go through this with ARod? Sure, he's a nice guy, but he's putting up power numbers that have rarely been seen in baseball history. I thought I heard on some radio show (although take this with a grain of salt) that Pujols has taken 6 drug tests this year and passed them all. Of course, that doesn't mean he doesn't take something that can't be detected or has some sort of masking drug, but he hasn't ballooned like Bonds did. He hasn't had the typical injuries, that I can remember. I no believe.
  25. And I say, do you really think ALL of those people involved could keep a secret like that for ALL of those years? I don't think so.
