  1. He wasn't mocking his substitution patterns. Bert and Beamer both said as much. Beamer intentionally was using fake fair catch signals on kickoffs and Bielema took exception to that since it's a good way to get players hurt Beamer: "I think he was upset about something that we did on the kickoff return in regards to Juju on the throwback to Nyck Harbor. I would say he needs to check the rule book, because that's something that we cleared with the officials before the game." Bert: "Kickoff return is the highest percentage of injury in the sport, so one of the things that coaches began to do was everybody out of respect started T-barring. It's not an official sign. They didn't do anything illegal, but it put us in a position that we now -- the ethics of what that is got evaporated there, because our kids stopped. " Beamers reaction was insane and over the top regardless.
  2. Illinois had their best player on each side of the ball out too. Beamer is a tool though. Can't believe that tantrum
  3. Fletcher looked like an incredible defensive RF so begs the question how he looked so bad in CF. The potential is there defensively, I would think. Needs to prove he can play CF to have some value overall.
  4. @greg775 Brother Rice #1 basketball team in the state right now. https://www.maxpreps.com/il/basketball/rankings/1/?mobile=1
  5. Liked him as a flip candidate since he's a name with pedigree and still just 28, but never signing anyone that expensive.
  6. Why though? That should go to literally anyone else at this point. Even me. God knows I've been to more Sox games than Eloy has.
  7. I think they just "need" a veteran starter regardless.
  8. "Ben Badler at Baseball America said the “arrow was pointing up” on Fajardo before the season, and the $400,000 signing out of Venezuela proved it over the course of the season. The 3.91 ERA doesn’t stand out due to a few rough outings, but he also threw five shutout innings on three different occasions, and he struck out 64 batters 50⅔ innings while only walking eight. When considering age for level, it’s probably the best performance by a White Sox international pitcher in the Marco Paddy era." from sox machine. Yeah I dont know.
  9. Well deleted the tweet. We know that burner reads soxtalk.
  10. If that's true that's a lot more than I'd expect. Not that it's a haul but not sure why we're giving up a top 30 prospect here. Figured it was 40 man churn for the Red Sox.
  11. Think I'd much rather have Naylor at 14 million than Santana at 12.
  12. He going to re-take up the mantle as the Cuban Othani again then?
  13. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43093698/yankees-1b-paul-goldschmidt-reach-125m-deal-sources-say
  14. I think i would take the over. An even remotely competent bullpen, which can be assembled by pure luck, will beat it.
  15. When he's comparing himself to a slave, yeah that's questionable. And also pulled a yerminator threatening to retire. And that was all just publicly. Who knows what he's like behind the scenes.
  16. Prepping for Acuna's free agency in 2029 apparently.
