  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) have a finally my prediction is rounding into shape about him being a bust. ...He's a freshman who hasn't played in an even an exhibition.
  2. Just got back from Saw 6. Even though it lacked a great surprise ending like most of the other ones, I loved this movie. Nice rebound. Consistent through out, though there's still many questions to be answered. Guess we're looking at a 7?
  3. This whole year has been year of the umps, postseason just magnifying that. And wow, nice power from Morales.
  4. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 12:47 AM) Doesnt he have a teamate who is better than him? Brandon Pullman, but he's no where near the prospect Randle is.
  5. Randle is a stud. He's going to be a star in college, little doubt in my mind. He's definitely the best player I've seen of the Illinois 2011 kids thus far.
  6. Twins have been playing some awfully dumb baseball.
  7. As bad as the NL is, the top 3 teams in there can take anyone in the AL. I guess what I'm getting at is that it sucks to see the Cards go 3 and out this season, since they were pretty damn good.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) I would keep Dotel over Linebrink at this point. That's not really a choice.
  9. QUOTE (Ken Harrelson @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 07:19 PM) I've talked to a few scouts about Jake Peavy, and the first thing all of them said about him was "This guy is a competitor." Awesome.
  10. How could you root for the Twins? They are our rivals.
  11. QUOTE (qwerty @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 06:15 AM) Hitting coaches have not been around the game of baseball for as long as they have because they serve no purpose. This likely will never be instilled as i have to mention it every couple weeks just to have it skipped right on by. Pitching coaches, hitting coaches, and even bullpen coaches all serve absolutely vital roles, far deeper than anyone here is willing to put the time in to comprehend. Post 56 was by far the most well thought out arguement i have ever seen on this subject since, well, since ever. Am I misreading your post? Or is that a typo? Hitting coaches "serve no purpose" but "serve a vital role" is what I'm referring to.
  12. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) Lemme ask the Walker followers, is there ever a way to tell how a manager/coaching change/gm change/etc will affect a ball club? If not, which is what you're essentially arguing, why fire any manager? Why not keep Jerry Manuel after '03? Bing bing bing. I mean, is anyone really genuinely happy with Walker holding his spot down? Please answer this.
  13. And once again the only defense of Walker is that we can't get any worse. The defenders need something else here, no doubt.
  14. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) I guess it's a reminder that this planet hasn't run out of stupid fans. Not to be a jr mod, but I'd take the personal attacks elsewhere.
  15. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 10:50 PM) I suddenly hate Jordan4life. No one's going to touch this?
  16. JD has pretty much established himself as a White Sox great.
  17. So hooking up with a "taken" girl is not a good idea. Boyfriend is pissed, girlfriend never told me anything about it (and felt the guilty need to tell him about us), but apparently it's my fault so I'm in some trouble here.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) That cut was just nasty. Why the f*** they didn't stop the fight is beyond me.
  19. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 07:46 AM) 1st all-nighter of the semester... It's good to be back in school, haha. I'm joining you.
  20. When do we sue and get our money back?
  21. something something was it over when the germans bombed pearl harbor something something this.team.is.dead. something something are you in or out something something Good to see the final stage completed.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) So, we play two East teams then? That's not really a rotation, in my view. But I guess its semantics. I'd just rather see something like: play the Cubs once a year (alternate parks), and play 4 other series interleague each year, rotating divisions. I'd rather keep the Cubs twice, but I agree with everything else. As for the Mets, we've only had the opportunity to play them 4 times ('02, '04, '07, '10), so it's not that big of a travesty that we've missed them since I believe we've hit all the other 15 franchises.
