  1. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) competition Nope, sorry. Illinois has been in the top 25 in adjusted D in every year Weber has been coach. This isn't some anomaly.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) Anyone play little big world yet? It's the media's game of the year pick for a reason (and mine too). It's really, really good. Imagine Youtube in video game form and you have Little Big Planet. Extremely innovative.
  3. I don't know if it can get better than 2008 for Sony, but their line-up for 2009 is looking to give it a run. Killzone 2, The Agency, Mass Action Game, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 2, Final Fantasy Versus, Rachet and Clank 2, God of War 3, Infamous, and DC Universe. Wow, that is actually an amazing exclusive line-up, and should actually be able to top what Sony did in 2008. The problem with the 360 is that they can't rely on major first party titles the way Nintendo and Sony can. With all of their few 1st parties out of the way, I think it might get a little rough for them.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) They haven't released Zelda yet - that was a GC port. Jumping into the Wii debate - I'm very disappointed in how they set up their schedule of releases. Basically there's been nothing since Kart, Mario and Wii Fit that has been worth buying, and there doesn't seem to be anything in the near future (a new Zelda "sometime") The 3rd party line-up for 2009 is probably Nintendo's best since the SNES era. If Nintendo can make anything decent themselves, Wii should easily be the winner in 2009 in terms of exclusives IMO. As for Zelda, I don't doubt a second Wii edition, I'm just sure it's at least 2+ years off.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:23 AM) Yes, but what is it? I would have tried to explain it, but, as kyyle proved, it's something you're better off looking into for yourself.
  6. Pikmin was Nintendo's biggest critical success on the GameCube with two iterations that have scored a 89 and 90 on metacritic. They are remaking the first one on Wii due out next month and then the true sequel is also in development I think.
  7. The Wii had a terrible holiday line-up in 2008 so I will blame it for that. Granted, Nintendo has released it's big 5 (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash and Kart) since the Wii's launch so it is hard to blame them. The ball is now in the 3rd parties court and their effort is so far looking good for 2009. I also want to see what Nintendo has in store for their other AAA franchise like F-Zero, Pikmin, and Kirby and Star Fox too.
  8. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) After getting Quantum of solace for Christmas I am now seeing how absolutely awful the Wii is. Don't blame the Wii for that, blame terrible development. Is that water? My god. There were better water effects in 1993. Quite literally.
  9. It's funny. The teacher just seems to be having a little fun. Who hasn't had sports discussion in their grade school class? Or that teacher who loved that one team?
  10. Don't buy your games from GameStop. They sell their old games as "new".
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) The 360's heyday has already come and gone with Halo 3 and both Gears of War games. I don't see any future exclusives that will make it "the" system to own, and it's soon going to be a thing of the past. This is a big one. Microsoft has extremely few key exclusive 1st party titles, especially when compared to Nintendo and Sony. Their big 4, Halo, Gears, Fable, and Forza, (and I struggle to even call those last two big) have all already launched with the 360 and probably aren't likely to see another iteration this gen.
  12. This is widely practiced, hardly a German thing. Doesn't every soccer team have a Brazilian on there?
  13. You play defense against Mizzou and you win. You can't set-up the press if you can't score.
  14. QUOTE (BurlyMan56 @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 03:46 AM) The Xbox online experience I'd say is larger and better, so that's why I went with the 360. Everyone knows what Xbox Live is and I couldn't even tell ya what the PS3 online experience is called. It just launched last week. It's called HOME. I don't think it gets larger than a socially interactive MMO that helps you set-up online games. Very cool, very innovative.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) Legion seems like a delightful teammate. He's basically the anti-Chester Frazier in every aspect. His mom with her magical powers has envisioned his college career cutting down the nets with the Illini so I guess it's an even trade off.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 02:02 AM) Missouri's performance tonight was one of the worst I've seen. Poor shooting, terrible defense, and literally passing it to the media table. On the other hand, the Legion era at U of I might be funny. He's already pouting on the bench, as he was the only one not standing/cheering with the rest of the team. It's ok, his family thinks he'll go pro early. He has never cheered even before tonight. Him and Calvin.
  17. Personally, I'd go PS3. Its multimedia functions are completely unmatched and really should be the central hub of everyone's entertainment center. You wouldn't think you need everything in one spot until you get a PS3. In terms of video games, 360 beats it definitly thus far. But the potential of PS3 is definitly much greater and plus it's got a huge advantage in having its own sports franchises(The Show, for example). The holiday line-up was great for PS3 and it's 2009 one looks even better. Plus you factor in free online gaming and the greatness that is HOME, I think those are deal breakers that go against the 360 and for the PS3.
  18. There's a new TMNT game from a collaboration dev team of the Smash Brothers Brawl team and team Ninja(Ninja Gaiden, Dead or alive). Here's some copy pasta New TMNT Wii game - more details December 10th, 2008 -published by Ubisoft -official development started Jan. 2008 -concept started Oct. 2007 -to be released in Sept. 2009 -2.5D Fighter -Interactive Stages -4 player versus -Story Mode -Battle Royal -Tournament -Winner Stays -Loser Stays -Practice -Unlockable Characters -Unlockable Stages -Online aspects said to be better than Brawl implementation -Each character is color coded with glowing effect to make 4-player battles easy to follow Sounds a lot like Smash I think. Should be awesome.
  19. Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
  20. He already had the most successful season in school history with talent, so problem solved.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 19, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) There were some major drug issues for Indiana when they were at the Sears Centre for that tourney last November. I can't believe that they bring in a former drug dealer/gang member in J. Ellis, and everything went to hell! Yeah, I think we've all heard some story on the Chicago situation. I thought the rumors dealt with worse drugs than weed though.
  22. Can someone ban me until Friday night? Thanks.
  23. You're not including money deferred in that payroll. If I were to guess we have deferred more money than anyone in baseball the past few years. It had to be about ten million alone last year.
