By the way, Fast and Furious was so awesome. Definitely on the level of the first. I'm on a roll seeing mindless movies that shouldn't be very good but end up being awesome.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Another movie that could go either way (huge hit or bomb, you know Transformers 2 will make bank) is James Cameron's AVATAR. The hype train is 15 years in the making and has who is one of Hollywood's biggest name to it. Anything less than 250 million would be a disaster I would imagine.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 07:27 AM) His post Sox career totally sucked. What? He finished 4th in the MVP voting in 2006 and was again good enough in 2007 to draw some votes again. He hit 65 HRs, and had 209 RBIs in that span...

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:32 PM) I was exhausted when I saw it, but I lean to it being one of the worse movies I've ever seen. Ebert gave it 4 stars and said it was one of the best sci-fi movies ever. I was surprised by that. I thought it was a bit of a clusterf***.

Owens clears waivers...
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 07:45 PM) Can't he refuse assignment and go play in AAA for someone else? Why would he want to? There's a great chance both Anderson and Wise fail, and then he'll get a chance...unfortunately.

I don't get the hate for Murphy. He is the only one who doesn't bother to dedicate 90% of his show to football.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 05:43 AM) I agree. Basically going to be home games for MSU. That should get them one win but I dont see anyone beating Lawson and Co. right now. They already lost by 30 to them on the same court. In regards to today, it's funny to see the media, before to the game, give Sparty absolutely no chance, and then afterwords try and turn it into some huge upset. Am I the only won who remembered that they won a 7 bid league by an astounding 4 games?

QUOTE (gbuk @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 07:38 AM) I follow this stuff as closely as anyone and have seen all of these rumors before, none ever verified. I'm not saying you're lying, but do you have a legitimate source on it or what? I've never heard one of these but the obvious hating on the press, and believe me I've heard all the rumors being on Kentucky boards all the time. The love of the bottle stems from his DUIs. Obviously those were from before UK, but there have been enough accounts from just about everywhere that he loved his partying. The charity stuff comes from that he only attended 4 fund raising events in his 2 years there. Compared to that of the previous coach, that paled in comparison. The other stuff is from Maggard. He told the story of how BCG kicked Meeks over the team at half-time of the ND game. The assistants had to convince him to come out of the locker room. Same thing happened at the SEC tournament as well as at a game earlier in the season. Liggins ans Stewart had similar stuff happen as well, though they were said to have quit.

Official 2008-2009 College Basketball Thread
The situation changed when he: decided to continually love the bottle, hated on the press, didn't find charitable events a necessity, charities, faught on a consistent basis with his assistants, openly partied with students, kicked Jodie Meeks of the team three times (and other players many other times, only to be let back in).

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 07:56 AM) Damn. I'm still debating if I should give it a chance or not. If you're a fan of the series, no reason not too. The storyline is kind of dumbed-down in comparison to some of the others, but I think it ends up working for the better, and it still has the surprise ending that the series is known for.

Who Will be this year's Biggest Surprise?
Clayton Richard if he gets the chance to be a full-time starter. I do believe Getz will be competent enough to hold down 2B for the entire year, though I'm not sure that is really a "surprise".

Saw 5 was pretty good. Not sure I understand the hate from series fans. I might and even go as far and put it 2nd best ( behind the original). Know1ng...I haven't decided if it's the worst movie I have ever seen, or just really, really weird.
