QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) Still don't see how everyone thinks Noah is a can't miss NBA player. He sucks and had a good run last year. period. Not even his own coach thinks that anymore according to Dickie V. -
Illinois should be in, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the SC leave them out if they lose the next two. If they lose vs. Iowa, their looking at a 6 or 7 seed anyway which would insure another win over Penn State or Northwestern. Then they possibly get Indiana and then a date with the Badgers in the semis. That may actually look better than beating Iowa, taking the 4/5 game, only to get killed by the Buckeyes the next day.

So Championship Week begins tommorrow including the Horizon League getting under way. I'm going with a Loyola-Wright State final. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 03:19 AM) Has anyone ever played 5 clicks to Jesus on Wikipedia? No, but I'm glad to see someone else has played that game. I thought I made it up, but I have spent many long hours playing "clicks".

KU-OK in a good one. Can't say I agree with all these calls though. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 09:38 AM) Let me ask you. Have you ever been to a soccer game with 90,000 people in the stadium, chanting and singing, with fireworks and flares going off? But I'm not going to go further with this, just stating my opinion. I don't want to be called an elitist or anything. I've watched enough soccer to know what the crowds are like. Yes they are nuts, but they don't match the intensity of an indoor college basketball game.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 09:14 AM) hate to stir the pot, but Korea 2002 and I don't even like soccer I didn't mean to say it doesn't happen at all. It happens basically every night in college basketball, whereas the examples from other sports are far fewer.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 08:20 AM) BTW, new rumor of Bill Self to Arkansas after the season. Which is a joke unless Kansas was to bow out against Boston U in the first round. -
Playing on a homecourt can make even the worst teams into one of the best in country for a night. You don't see this anywhere except for college basketball.

Easily basketball. Look no further than the Big Ten.

Jeff Hardy is the worst wrestler on the WWE roster. I simply cannot watch Raw when he is on. Also: "According to Dave Meltzer, there will be eight participants in this year’s Wrestlemania Money in the Bank match."

Stopped reading at Gregg Doyel. I was hoping he would stop writing about CBB, but apparently that is not going to be the case. He was the laughing stock of CBB journalism when he held the CBB writer position at CBS. Now he is being outdone by Gary Parrish. -

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) wooohooo we won a conference that has not been so down in 10 years. That's pretty funny actually since it's still better than the "We're ranked lower than the mid-major MVC" Big 12. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) Clearly? If that is the case, then you must know the favorite teams of all the referees. So tell us, which is the favorite team of the following referees: Steve Welmer Ted Valentine Ed Hightower Mike Sanzere Bruce Benedict Verne Harris Ted Hillary Doug Sirmons Jim Burr Donnee Gray J.D. Collins John Moore Paul Janssen Winston Stith Jamie Luckie Tim Nestor Gary Maxwell That list ought to keep you busy for a little while. Well, not too long if it is CLEAR they favor their favorites. I'm pretty sure he was not speaking of specific teams with these referees so a list would be pointless. Just some that like home cookin'. -

Down 16 and still fouling. Come on St. John's. And CBS, this isn't a game. Switch over for God's sake. -
Yes, he makes a huge difference when he is playing well. That part is undeniable. The whole problem though is that he doesn't play "well" often enough.

This Big Ten week is going to be fun. Michigan State may be considered a lock as of now, but they could be on the outside looking in by week's end. But then again, if they do take care of business, they could end up as the third highest Big Ten team, which is where they reside right now. Illinois too could finish with a higher NCAA seed than Indiana when it's all said and done, although that may have to include a run in the BTT. Now Michigan is another team that people have taken off the bubble list, but they could be looking good by the end of the week. Of course, that would take a home win over Ohio State which is unlikely in itself. Purdue is on cruise control up until the BTT, but that may not be a good thing for them. Oh yeah, and theres a pretty big game today. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 03:53 AM) So Ohio State beating Penn St by two and eight points in their last three games means what? Penn St. is worse than all of the teams Kansas has blown out in the past few weeks. This basically has nothing to do with anything. They've beaten legit teams to prove themselves. This just proves that results vs. weaker teams means nothing as long as you pick up the W. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 03:53 AM) The point is, actually, you don't have a clue what you are arguing. You keep posting stats about what Kansas has done this year, which means absolutely NOTHING in terms of how they are playing right now. I could care less what they did or did not do in December. If you watch Kansas right now, you can see they are playing very well. If you can't see that, then you are just an idiot. If you want to keep arguing with points that are not related, go ahead and talk to yourself. Actually it looks like it's you who doesn't know what he is arguing. I never denied Kansas was playing well. It just so happens that they are playing well against St. Mary's School for the Blind. Kansas lost its two biggest games in Big 12 play. That is a fact. I don't know how to put in any simpler to you. Beating up on Colorado, Iowa State, etc. is by no means a measuring point for how good a team is. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 03:56 AM) SIU only beat a bad Evansville team by 7 at home tonight, so they suck too. Um, you are the one arguing that running up the score on terrible teams is relevant, not me. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 03:25 AM) The things they are doing against the Colorado's and Iowa State's would translate against better teams. I would not agree at all. Especially when we are talking about a Bill Self Kansas team. They've been Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde over these last few years and there hasn't been much to suggest that this year is any different. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 03:25 AM) No one is handing them the NCAA Championship, but they aren't struggling to beat teams they should beat. They are heading in the direction they need to be heading into March. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to tell who is playing well and who is not if you simply watch games. But that's the whole point. Any decent team would be under the category of "playing well" if they played Kansas' schedule. Doesn't change the fact that they haven't won a big game since December. One of the most telling thing about an elite team is their record vs. the upper echelon of teams(of RPI top 50 for short). The NCAA championships prove this. Kansas is just 3-2 in that category this year. And the fact that they've only had 5 of those games basically means their untested at this point. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 03:17 AM) All of that means absolutely nothing to anyone except you. So the fact that they have beaten a tournament team in two months means nothing?
