Where was Angels in the Outfield? The Sox appeared in that movie. They played the Angels in the World Series. Huh?
-
Gammons
we'd have the best 7-8-9 crew in MLB if we still had Gordon. I think that's worth the money. Only having to play 6 innings is huge!

Sox vs Twins June 29th, 2004
Let's hope Buerhle gets back on track... it'd be great to see 8.0 IP 1 ER for his line...

Who is happy with The Trade?
True, but I meant starter. Which just tells you the old proverb, "Go by what I mean, not by what I say" :-p
-
Gammons
Gordon is the guy that the Sox miss the most from last year...

Who is happy with The Trade?
I think we can now safely say we have the best pitcher in the AL Central. That makes me happy!
-
Cash
I thought we only had 39 on the 40 man roster when we "released" Wunsch

For those who want RJ:
Check out the lead story for espn.com: Click here EDIT: The link is for something else. The "Trade Johnson" articles are all Insider, I think.

Do you like rumored Braves trade???
Magglio is basically dead to me at this point. I've almost forgotten what it's like to have him in the line-up. Maybe his absence will soften the blow of a trade. I'm happy if we get 2 of Ortiz, Estrada, and Andruw for Maggs. If we get Estrada and Andruw, how positively SICK is the line-up? A. Jones Uribe Thomas Lee Konerko Valentin Rowand Crede Estrada Jeez, that's just SICK

Baker's Comments before the series
The 2001 tailspin was a good one, too. Oh man, I loved that one.

Potential trade with braves...
you forgot Frank Thomas and Freddy Garcia

Sox vs. Cubs 6/9/00 on ESPN Classic
I think so, yeah. I can't remember too well what she looks like, except I thought she was pretty short and had absolute leatherlungs. She might have been latino, but I could be wrong about that.

Potential trade with braves...
preach it

Sox vs. Cubs 6/9/00 on ESPN Classic
oh my God, this one game I went to a game and there was this crazy woman that would scream something before each at bat, like "The milk man delivers" or "Come on Konerko, Kah-nock one out!" and her favorite "A walk's as good as a hit!" I don't suppose you know that woman...

Garcia Engaged?
can someone fix that up with Ozzie and Freddie faces?
-
Garcia Engaged?
maybe a contract with the Sox is part of the dowry? Also, I think all things being equal in the money department, Garcia will sign with the Sox. Heck, they might even get him before the season ends!

AROUND THE HORN
ELo suceeded last year because he did what it took to suceed at the Cell: Not give up the long ball. I think Garcia's been pretty good at that in the past, so I think he can suceed here.
-
Who will catch Garcia in his first start?
No problems there, that rotation gives us the best chance to win all the games against the Twins. Hopefully the bats come, too!
-
ESPN 1000: Freddy Garcia traded to the White Sox
If Miguel Olivo and Jeremy Reed were our entire future; it's probably best that we're going all out this year.
-
Who will catch Garcia in his first start?
Yeah, that's what will probably happen. I was a bit more impressed with Diaz, though.
-
Who will catch Garcia in his first start?
By your logic, it'd be Rauch.
-
Who will catch Garcia in his first start?
So he's replacing Rauch in our rotation?
-
ESPN 1000: Freddy Garcia traded to the White Sox
I'd rather have Maggs than either of them... so Rauch for Estrada and Ortiz?

How much bitching have you heard from Cub fans
actually, I think that the Cubs are in trouble for winning the division. They only have 5 more games against the Cards, IIRC. As they don't play head to head down the home stretch, there's very little room for error and the Cubs don't have the opportunity to help their own cause against the Cards.

Cubs still lead the NL wild card, so B&B have a point. That said, the Cubs look a little deader every day.
