I really don't get what is so hard for others to understand. Manny came into the offseason expecting Stanton-esque money. Not only is he not getting that, but he's not being offered 300 either. He is willing to wait for 300, as the one team he seemingly "wants" to go to (Yankees) is not willing to give him a deal worth considering. I totally buy that he doesn't want to play on the west coast, but if the Padres end up with the highest offer at 285 and the Sox at 260, then I think he's going to be fine playing on the west coast.

But that's depressing...I hope most realize this free agency chase is the most exciting part of this season for us.

Another thing to consider is San Diego is a bad hitter's park, and with around 100 games being played on the west coast, that's a lot of late games for his family to have to watch back east.
