  1. Something to keep an eye on is Narvaez has a CERA more than 2 runs higher than that of Soto
  2. Shoemaker must have 20 swings and misses on his splitter

  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 18, 2017 -> 04:39 AM) Well.. people want these vets to not rush the prospects in the system and eat up innings.. perfect for a rebuilding team who needs a top 3 pick next season. Yeah I have no problem with Holland on the roster. Would have been nice for him to have high trade value, but that was never likely.
  5. Wow, guy with 44 streak sees it end on a horrible overturn that shockingly helps the Cubs
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 18, 2017 -> 04:29 AM) When I looked last night, he was in the back end of the Top 30 for WHIP and BAA (MLB)...I'm pretty sure both those categories. Obviously he has a ton of UER's on his record, so there's that. Has a low BABIP so far. Also throwing less grounders than ever, which won't be fun at a warm Guaranteed Rate Field
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 18, 2017 -> 04:22 AM) Anderson finally cracks the 600 OPS mark, now at 607. Holland has some pretty decent peripherals (outside of ERA), playoff experience and LHed, definitely the most desirable of those three veteran starters. We'll just have to hope Cabrera and Frazier will get hot at some point. The back of their baseball cards say they will, but Melky was pretty terrible for almost all of 2015, so who knows. You'd think he would want another run at playoff baseball. Nate Jones has a decent amount of value, but now the health questions are starting to get bigger and bigger...kind of like what happened with Jesse Crain, where we failed to extract maximum value and waited too long. Holland's peripherals are not good. Velocity already down a bit from April
  8. Frazier hard hit pct down 6 from last year and 12 from 2015. He's also pulling the ball more now than ever.
  9. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 18, 2017 -> 03:18 AM) Frazier is worse than Dunn He desperately needs to try something new at the plate. His mechanics are comical now
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 18, 2017 -> 03:13 AM) Not saying you thought we would, but no way we were getting anything for Gonzalez for gosh sakes. He's just another guy. Ditto Holland. Ditto Frazier. Ditto Melky. These guys are worth little to nothing. Nate Jones as well. He aint bringing anything useful folks. Not one of your better posts.
  11. Davis for Soler was a ridiculous steal for the Cubs
  12. So about that trade value for Gonzalez. He has nothing 3rd time out of last 4
  13. Sox pitching is really struggling of late. Gonzalez doesn't seem to have much on his pitches.
  14. Great post which backs up the eye test. His swing is way less fluid than last year and much more of an uppercut. I wonder if he developed some bad habits in ST when he was seeing the ball go over the fence a lot
  15. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 16, 2017 -> 11:28 PM) Have read some really good things about Kieboom, mostly about his bat which I like alot. He's plenty good enough to headline a Robertson trade, IMHO. Saw on a fangraphs chat that a scout compared him to Tulo
  16. QUOTE (hi8is @ May 17, 2017 -> 07:37 AM) Meh. I'll just respectfully disagree and leave it at that. ERA up to 3.21 after his good start. He definitely looks better this year, but he's one more bad outing away from having his ERA really balloon up.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2017 -> 06:31 AM) That year we signed Cabrera, Robertson, LaRoche, Bonifacio, Geo Soto, Beckham...NOT GOOD. Not to mention JB Shuck. Must be one of the worst free agent classes (at least 5 players) in recent MLB history. And there was the Samardzija disaster that year. Hahn is quite lucky JR is so loyal
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 17, 2017 -> 07:17 AM) I would like to reiterate what I said earlier that Melky can not get out of here fast enough. He's in contention for fWAR triple crown this year. 12th worst base runner, 10th worst hitter and easily worst defensive rating. Sounds like a #3 hitter to me
  19. QUOTE (Tony @ May 17, 2017 -> 07:15 AM) He was fine in his first inning of work, that also wasn't a save situation. He got beat in his second inning, which usually never goes well for a closer, and again, nothing was hit hard. Give it a rest. He hung pitches badly to Valbuena and Marte in his first inning
  20. QUOTE (Tony @ May 17, 2017 -> 06:10 AM) What ball was hit hard that inning? None but he didn't look good at all tonight. Couldn't put hitters away with two strikes. It's not a crushing performance for him but it was definitely as bad as he's looked.
