  1. Ho hum, another unearned run. They really have to work with Santiago on his offspeed pitches. Cooper mentioned he wants him to throw a slow hook more. That screwball is just too inconsistent.

    Hawkins 2-4 2b, HR and no K
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 02:04 AM) 41,000, but there is NO f***ING WAY that was representative of what I saw in the seats. I was there last night, and it looked about 20-22K. Where did you see the 41k mark?
  4. ADA's base running...yikes
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 01:51 AM) Has Hawk been saying this? Yep, basically talked about how good the coaching has been DESPITE him saying how it has been the worst execution he's ever seen outside of pitching.
  6. Was there no attendance announced last night?
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 11:53 PM) I'm not exactly sure of the purpose of the Alexei for Freese swap part. Yeah, the trade doesn't make much sense to me.
  8. Kolten Wong in the lineup for Memphis tonight.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) Strange. Is it just me, or is he losing at bats to Mike McDade and Travis Ishikawa? No way they're benching him to get others at bats. He's most likely banged up.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 11:52 PM) I'd rather have Adams and Wong to be honest. I'd be pretty content with those two as the centerpiece of a deal. Freese seems to be injured a lot.

    Wilkins out again
  12. QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 06:33 AM) So something like Wong (or Matt Adams), Tyrell Jenkins & James Ramsey for Peavy if we traded with StL? Not nearly enough, IMO, compared to the Garza haul.
  13. Odor is definitely available, as he was supposedly in the first version of the Garza trade.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 03:50 AM) I'm saying Rios goes too--Pittsburgh makes sense, and if Nelson Cruz gets busted, the Rangers will call. Alexei...no. His remaining contract is too big to take on. Sox would have to eat too much. I also think there will be one surprise deal that nobody sees coming. Either De Aza, Reed or Santiago
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 04:40 AM) I will say very high. I dont think any of those three will be gone. I don't see how they don't trade Peavy. I think he's gone by the deadline, same with Lindstrom and probably Crain. I don't think Rios/Ramirez get dealt.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 04:05 AM) If true, that's very sad. They have a big time reliever in the minors in Vic Black who I assume they'll call up after moving Melancon to closer role.
  17. Jason Grilli might have blown out his elbow tonight.
  18. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 03:00 AM) Agreed, I would want Wong and Martinez because Wong wouldnt be near enough Yep, and if you want to give them Crain, then try to get Adams in the deal also
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 02:57 AM) This team is so bad that I fear we're already out of the 2014 pennant race. I figure by the end of April we'll be out of it again. Bad bad baseball. It's very possible, and that's what happens when you rebuild. If the Sox are rebuilding, it comes at the right time with the Tigers' superstars in their peak.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 03:49 AM) I'm starting to get on the Semien bandwagon. I'm still not convinced that he'll be more than a utility player in the Majors, but it's starting to look like he will at least get his shot. Out of curiosity, what is causing hesitation about his potential to be an everyday 2B?
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 02:39 AM) I can't wait for the trades to start coming so there's something real to talk about with the Sox. Speculation and bad baseball is old. I like watching Phegley play still. No Beckham means one less player I'm interested in watching hit. Sounds like Beckham is headed back to the DL.
  22. If the Sox are trading Peavy for a package of Cardinals players, I'm hoping for a lot more than Wong in the trade. Wong is a solid player but has a pretty low ceiling.
  23. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 03:36 AM) This is the only non-Cardinal board I frequent. I wish Bucket would check in because he may know something from the White Sox side. Like I said, this could mean nothing but the promotion of Mateo is very curious. If Wong is staying in Memphis, there would be nowhere for Mateo to play making the promotion strange. I already said that Wong is not coming to St. Louis because there is nowhere for him to play there, either. Wong always seemed like the most obvious prospect to build a trade aroud given that the Cardinals have Carpenter at 2B. I can eliminate the Astros (Norris) because they have a 2B that they just extended. My mind is racing because I can't really understand this sequence of events. I read Wong's missed a few games now, so any chance he's just banged up and they'll demote Mateo in a few days?
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 02:31 AM) He's this year's Ryan Bukvich. We'll see Petricka up soon
  25. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 03:29 AM) love when alexei s***s the bed....twice Alexei with the nice 16:1 error:HR ratio That has to be the worst in baseball, right?
