Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's
We can't steal against slow-release righties, but the opposition steals easily against a lefty with the best move in baseball.

Juan continues his worthless season. Also, seems like Cox should have been waving Omar home instantly, as Beckham did all he could.

Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's
So I watched 2005 Game 3 of ALDS on DVD today. I forgot just how bad Chris Berman and Sutcliffe were announcing that game. Jenks' stuff was incredible, and Ozzie did a hell of a job managing.

Beautiful double play by Dunn

Wimpy is a fantastic announcer. Lots of great observations by him. I love Stoney, but Wimpy's been a breath of fresh air.

Chapman is going to have to get sent down to the minors. They might as well try to transition him into a starter, especially with Bray pitching solidly.

Just heard Bautista has more career homers at Target Field than Morneau/Mauer combined.

Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) There's a surprise. A Quentin pop-up and another weak 4-3 groundout by AJ. Ugh. It's beyond Corpseball. Necrophilia Ball. Balta's threats of bringinb back Pierre is making me wish for an 0 for 100 stretch for him.

So Bautista's 3 career homers to right field have all happened at one of the hardest parks to hit it out to right field. That's bonkers

Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) I feel like Quentin ought to be able to handle Cahill if he was going well. Instead, weak popup. He's bailing on everything. Between Quentin, Rios and Beckham, I'm not sure which one is opening up worse.

Hey, Hawk finally noticing that Quentin's become a pop up machine to the right side.

Hey balta or any other stat guy...who was the last batter to have 100 at bats to start the year without a homer or a walk?

Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) The only way it doesn't happen is if Ozzie is no longer the manager. You know I'm right. No chance, we'll find some other slappy mcsucky hitter. Someone like Nyjer Morgan.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) He'll get resigned in the offseason. Rick Hahn wouldn't dare.

Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) He's going away. All the time. Every time he gets to 1b in fact. He rapidly goes away. Times this like, I'm just very grateful this is the last year he has a contract with the Sox.

Pierre has to be off to one of the worst baserunning seasons ever. As balta said, he's worthless if he can't steal in that situation.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
Is the weather really that bad in Chicago today? To me, seems like Cubs had quick trigger on postponing the game due to facing Lincecum.

K-Dubya vs. Soxtalk
Better question tex would be if you think KW has done a good job with his trades/transactions the last 3 years?
-
K-Dubya vs. Soxtalk
Pretty sure everyone on here liked the Quentin trade, hated the second Swisher trade, and despised the Brandon Allen trade.

Floyd-Ross: This time its personal... Sox @ A's
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2011 -> 10:40 PM) You're out of your mind. I'll respond to this before I go, but I don't see the physical tools there unless he has a drastic change in his hitting mechanics. People on here act like he's a top 20 prospect, but plenty of scouts had concerns about his ability to hit for enough power at a corner position.

Gavin getting crushed by the weak hitting A's. Time to go do something useful today, have a good day my fellow Sox fans.

Floyd-Ross: This time its personal... Sox @ A's
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2011 -> 10:36 PM) NO. You are not doing this. You are not screwing with Morel the same way you screwed with Anderson. Committing to him and then benching him constantly. And you are not moving Viciedo to another **** new position for the 3rd time in 3 years. NO. Terrible idea. I agree with you about the position changing, but they're going to do it. You never, ever hear Hawk talk about a prospect like he is with Viciedo unless he knows they're calling him up soon. I don't really care what they do with Morel, as I don't think he's talented enough to be a starting 3B in the majors.

Floyd-Ross: This time its personal... Sox @ A's
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) Only if Pierre is moving to 3b. They'll put Viciedo back at 3b.

Shocking Morel with a weak out to the right side. Lucky for him, Teahen is injured. Sounds like Hawk is preparing us for the Viciedo era to start soon.
