  1. The only thing I've heard is Sox are desperate to try and get Dunn to make a decision before Angels are done chasing Crawford and Soriano. Everything still points to Konerko going elsewhere though.
  2. Viciedo in the OF is a bad idea, as the rumor is that he has an extremely difficult time catching fly balls.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) And If I had my way, I would swap out AJP for Russell Martin. But thats just me. I've been wondering if he's an option for the Sox. Not the biggest fan of his, but his value seems low enough to hopefully get a steal.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) Pierre Beckham Dunn DLee Rios Quentin Alexei AJP Morel Rock, this is the second time I've noticed you mentioning DLee and Dunn coming to the Sox.
  5. Dunn has been target 1a, 1b, and 1c this offseason for the Sox. This doesn't come as a surprise, and wouldn't be shocked if things happen quickly starting tomorrow (after non-tenders become official).
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) My name is Jordan4life aka Mikell, and Blake Griffin is f***ing sick. You know you're good when you make me tune in to Clippers highlights. For every highlight he has, he just misses three more. I watched that game on NBA TV last night, and he was far and away the best player on the court. It's not just that he is so strong and fast, but his hustle and body control is breathtaking.
  7. The problems Ozzie and KW had with Jenks seemed to be more with off the field stuff than on it. I wish Jenks the best, but I'll be happy to not have him on the Sox anymore. Thanks for 2005 big man!
  8. With relatively little hype, Marcus Jordan might be the most improved player in the country. UCF is playing extremely well, as they beat Florida tonight.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Decline the option, let him walk. Oh come on, we know Alexei doesn't walk!!
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) It wasn't just the record that failed, it's the organization as a whole finding itself in a very bad position this offseason without anything to show the past 2 years. We aren't a very young team, we have young pieces though. But, we have major holes that cant be filled in by our farm system because it's bare and we have so much money tied up in a few deals that it'll be hard to fill all these holes through FA. The most concerning part of last season was our inability to beat AL teams. Not sure what final record was, but we were average at best vs AL teams.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) Lets also not pretend that it hasn't worked with certain guys that we've picked up. It all depends on the situation, O Dog might fit in perfectly with the Sox clubhouse, who the hell knows. Oh, I agree. I haven't heard Hudson is a bad guy...rather, he's just very vocal. I think a lot of it depends on what happens to Konerko and AJP, and the impact that has on our clubhouse.
  12. QUOTE (joeynach @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 08:15 PM) Orlando Hudson is going to give u .280/.350/.420 and is a plus defender, thats what matters, thats all that matters when it comes to evaluating him as a player, PERIOD! You must enjoy playing fantasy sports. I can't believe that a Sox fan would say that after the Swisher and OC debacles here.
  13. QUOTE (joeynach @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 01:18 AM) Hence my sign Orlando Hudson idea and swap Beckham for Rasmus...ok fine if you have to throw in Morel or De Aza then so be it. Hudson is very injury prone, and if you watched him last year, it looked like he was going to blow out a knee every time he fielded the ball. Also, you have to take into account that Rasmus is not a good person, as he's had issues with managers and teammates since he graduated high school. There's quite a few stories out there about how insufferable the Rasmus family is.
  14. QUOTE (kev211 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 05:34 AM) Eight years of SC dominance over, though no one here cares about ND so carry on. That game will be remembered more for the Ronald Johnson drop than anything else. Three brutal choke jobs the last two nights between Boise kicker, GT kicker, and now Johnson.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) Good god almighty. I read through the last half of this thread and I wanted to cut myself. This thread blows. Just cause CarGo didn't win the MVP is no reason to end your life!
  16. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I just accepted that this Duke team was likely going to win back-to-back titles before the season started. Irving is a fantastic PG. The only thing that will hold Duke back again is their post play. But Plumlee looks pretty damn good. As I said a few weeks ago, and I know you are a great cbball guy, is that Duke not being picked #1 by everyone is absolutely crazy.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 04:10 AM) Was told he's our most impressive practice player. I'm pretty sure same information came from Michigan State about his practice ability, yet it never translated over to the games.
  18. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 02:36 AM) Fine, then how do we know that this information is credible? What posters are the ones with insider information? Till there is some evidence then I don't believe fathom that people would just yield this information to only certain members of soxtalk.com. Information is credible because everything that's been told has been accurate.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 02:34 AM) I hope it's because they are missing Chris Allen. I hate watching Chris Allen. Does so many things poorly on the court. He's like the exact opposite player that D. Anderson is for you guys now.
  20. Michigan State has not looked good at all this season. And Kemba Walker is the best pg in the country, hands down.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) I wasn't really standing up for AJ, but was more pointing out the facts vs the "clubhouse rumors" that were entirely BS and the lack of evidence to support "our players" not liking AJ. Our players like AJ, according to direct quotes. Trust me, if AJ was complete crap, I wouldn't want him back. I look at our in-house options and the available free agents and AJ is looking sexier by the nanosecond. No one said it was the players, but the organization in general. I don't know who, but that could include Ozzie or KW or numerous others. From all accounts, they were beyond eager to get rid of him for a few reasons (salary and diminished productivity being a few of them).
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) Well, if they did it was severely under the radar, lets put it that way. Everything I've heard, and I see what you might be implying, is that Dunn is the primary target of the Sox this offseason.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) That's from the most respected member of the White Sox and arguably the face of the franchise. Get out of here with this "you won't BELIEVE what we know from behind the scenes! I GOT INSIDE INTEL." Well, the only person with 100% legit inside information was the one talking about the Sox trying to trade AJP for anything last season without finding any takers.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) Thome and Dye were kicked to the curb? I'm missing your point with this one, yo. Not before Swisher and Cabrera and McCarthy, etc.
  25. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 11:41 PM) Even if this is true I really don't care. He's clean and he plays hard. He does his job well. If anyone on the Sox is more interested in getting along at backyard BBQs then they can get the hell off this team. I care about winning and postseason baseball, which unfortunately AJ has probably experienced more than any other Sox player sans Andruw and Omar. I don't care if they all hate each other and they all want to rip each other's throats out after the season. Just win. AJ gives the team the best chance of winning of all the realistic options out there. And if Kenny is concerned about getting along with people then he can go f*** off too, because he can't get along with anyone himself, and he's the one who brought in notorious cancer Manny Ramirez to right a ship that only sunk because he couldn't offer Mr. SuperFriendlyILoveYou Jim Thome a $1M contract in the spring. Nice rant, but the sentence is bold was definitely not true the past few years. You saw what happened when outsiders came in and caused disturbances in the clubhouse with Konerko, Dye, and Thome.
