  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Its a better option than Rios. The Sox are playing poorly as it is. Not to put your biggest guns out there when you have a shot at a tie or making the game much closer is silly. Teahen was a better option than Rios if Ozzie thinks Dunn needs a rest from playing in the field last night. I also love how Hawk said Rios crushed his homer last night...when it made it out by about 15 feet down the line. That was absolutely the perfect spot to use Dunn, as it's very unlikely you get another chance to tie it. Buck Showalter always makes Ozzie look like a little b**** though.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) How about a pinch hitter next time Rios comes up with runners on and the Sox desperate for runs? How I wish KW got rid of him when he could. How I wish KW didn't think we could win it all in 2009.
  3. Surprised Hawk's not saying that was a hard chopper.
  4. Hey Ozzie, you are f***ing terrible. You have a righty sinker baller on the mound...and you keep your best low ball hitter on the bench. You deserve to get fired.
  5. LET DUNN HIT FOR RIOS!
  6. Ryan Franklin, on behalf of everyone who hates the Cubs....PLEASE RETIRE!
  7. Quentin popping up everything with runners on lately. He's not staying on top, and instead going with the dipping shoulder approach.
  8. I'm sure Ozzie didn't call for the bunt.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 1, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Wasn't Danks part of that deal? Or was it Floyd? I once hear it was based around Gio and Fields, with Danks absolutely not a part of it.
  10. Morel's bat placement on his load seems really bad. No prayer of catching up to a fastball and actually pulling it.
  11. Nice game for Beckham!
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) I'm now starting to wonder with our current 3-15 stretch if we can actually go 2-11 over the next 13 games to "reverse" match our WINNING streak last year? TWILIGHT ZONE TIME. 6 in a row lost at home, no more than 4 runs scored in any of those games. BTW, Oakland and the Angels are 1-2 in AL pitching, both with ERA's under 3. And we face Pineda and King Felix. Perfect Storm, here we come! 30 of 43 on the road with a struggling team = season over early
  13. One observation on the year: Jeff Niemann must really suck
  14. Orioles just have a swagger it seems like. Very good defense out there and a lot of confidence.
  15. Don't tell caulfield that Indians just scored 2 runs to take the lead. 10 games out, here we come
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 1, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) The White Sox are horrendous at baseball, lol. For this next post, I'll use a synonym of horrendous Atrocious defense...check Atrocious offense...check Atrocious bullpen...check The only thing we've been solid at is our strating pitching has been good. Outside of that, from a performance perspective, we've done everything else poorly. And while I'm not writing the season off, these consistent slow starts get pretty old and I'd like to think at some point someone takes a fall for them. Starting pitching hasn't been all that good, as our ERAs are 3.06, 3.60, 4.46, 5.12, 5.86 (worst two are our top 2 starters supposedly)
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) You guys continue to have no idea what the average "4th starter" is. That's a guy with an ERA around 5.5. Is that true?
  18. Did Hawk just say our starting pitching hasn't been bad?
  19. Hawk, let me tell you that Konerko isn't on the same planet as D. Lee when it comes to scooping throws. Morel with some nice swings today, that's promising.
  20. Beckham unable to get the hands extended (never does anymore), and hits a lazy pop up to right.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) It does appear his effort is less than stellar which was the exact knock against him in Toronto. Maybe its his toe injury, or maybe its the fact that he is very graceful and those guys look like they give less effort than they do, but hopefully he didn't think he shut up his critics with his first half last year, because he's been awful ever since. Between him and Dunn, I bet you're going to start hearing KW talk about acquiring "winning ball players".
  22. Lillibomb! He should be playing every game, at least he's trying out there.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) At this point, it's pretty clear that Gavin Floyd is never going to be better than a 4th starter with occasional flashes of brilliance. Still has a lot of trade value though. There's a better chance he's our "#1" starter next year than him getting traded. I still feel like only a few people really realize the dire starting pitching issues we're looking at next year.
  24. BOOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice mound visit by Cooper there.
  25. Gavin's fastball seems to be an afterthought tonight. He's not setting up his pitches very well today.
