  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 05:11 AM) Or that Erstad is a shadow starter. Or that Greg is still employed. Or that Cintron plays too much. Or that Andy Gonzales is still out there too much. Or that other guys in AAA with Frenchlike last names cant make it up here, yet crap on a stick is put out there every day. I've made no secret of the fact I want this team to lose every game the rest of the way. However, putting Cintron or Gonzalez at 3b every game is disrespectful to our pitching staff.
  2. That Broadway fastball is just so mediocre. I think we just saw the fastest 91 mph fastball in baseball, and the softest 89 mph fastball in baseball. His changeup also seems incredibly mediocre.
  3. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 05:04 AM) Betencourt is throwing 91 mph fastballs. 91!! and we are missing like he's throwing 101. I hope that the gun is f***ed up. He does that to everyone though. The juicer's had a great season.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 05:03 AM) Lol, these fans are drowning out Hawk and DJ. So Flash, are you as thrilled as I am that when finishing off a horrible season and eliminated from the playoffs.....the reliever getting the most experience on the Sox is almost 40 years old? It's amazing how awful every single thing about this baseball season has been.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 05:02 AM) Josh Fields has a long swing, Dont worry, Greg isnt working on it. He is leaving that for next year. Fields looks like he's rather tired, as his swing is longer than usual.
  6. Kenny Lofton walks into 2nd base while the Sox are appealing a play at 3rd base.....is this f***ing Little League? I hate how DJ tries to make an excuse for Erstad whenever he messes up (which is quite often).
  7. It's shameful they're playing in these conditions....if one of the Indians players got hurt and missed the playoffs, that would be ridiculous.
  8. This would be the perfect sequence....Floyd pitches well, but we lose and Tampa won. I'm sure Fields couldn't get a good grip on that ball.
  9. QUOTE(G&T @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 01:48 AM) Uh...did Hawk just say that David Eckstein is the biggest over achiever he'd ever seen? While it might be true, it gets me thinking when he starts praising players that aren't playing in the game. It gets me scared to death about our offseason.
  10. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) No. It's his job to lose. He's played good D. And everyone likes his "potential." (I don't have a positive view of Richar but it does no harm to let him play it out.) His defense has been average. He seems to be streaky in the field, which is something we read about in the scouting report.
  11. Question for the board....is Richar playing himself out of a starting spot for next year?
  12. Rickie Weeks just made his 25th error in the last 10 days. Judging by the box score, the same play just happened in the White Sox and Brewers game.
  13. Looks like the Brewers offense decided to take the night off against Armas. Also, it's interesting to see Yost leave Villanueva in for nearly 80 pitches when he's been out of the bullpen all season. Unfortunately, looks like we're back to a tie after tonight.
  14. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 04:11 AM) I hate Justin Timberlake with a passion but I do got respect for him. His points to me went up after his speech when he won "Best Male Award." The top line was when he said "And MTV play music videos we don't wanna see the Simpsons on reality T.V. anymore" Pure Genius. It was awkward he said that after being presented the award by the girls from "The Hills".
  15. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 03:58 AM) Congratulations to all of you who want the Sox to lose. Go grab a beer. Celebrate. It's a great day when the White Sox lose, right? There's absolutely nothing good that can come to the organization if they win these meaningless games. Why are you so scared of them possibly having a top two pick?

    Create a Band Name

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) Ok, now I've going on a different path here. I need to come up with the most entertaining and creative name for a racing horse (it's to win a competition to get prime seats at Australia's equivalent to the Superbowl). So any suggestions? Hoof Harded
  17. That opening performance was about the worst thing I've ever seen. I don't know who had a worst beginning today, the VMAs or Dumatrait on the Reds.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 02:05 AM) That was the whole point. Ozzie wanted to be able to load up against guys like CC and Johan. He wanted another righty bat in the line up. Yep, and he would have been playing catcher. We'd have the same amount of lefties in the game if he caught or played first.
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 01:43 AM) Are you sure about this? Or just pure Fathom speculation? No, it's been rumored basically all year. They want to put Ian Stewart at 3b, and they know it's so hard to trade Helton.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) Cardinals are up 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th. 0 and 3 since the Ankiel distraction.
  21. My brother and I were talking about how suspicious so many Orioles players were, in terms of previous steroid use. One of the many guys I projected that was on the juice was Jay Gibbons. Look for the story to come out later tonight that he was one of the guys who used that Florida pharmacy.
  22. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) I would absolutely be fine with either, though I'd much prefer Furcal to Renteria or Tejada. Here's my problem with Furcal or Renteria....they'll be free agents after 2008, and they'll get huge money again. In a perfect world, we'd get a SS that is locked up for 3-4 years.
  23. I'm expecting Garland to get traded for Renteria or Tejada pretty early in the offseason. I'm also rather confident Sweeney will be included in a trade.
  24. We should throw at Lorenzo Neal next time we face him....wait, wrong sport.
  25. QUOTE(southsida86 @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 12:07 AM) Sorry Jason, but Garland has worse trade value right now and going into this offseason than Freddy Garcia did last offseason, and probably identical to Buehrle's before this season. with him making $12M on a 1 year deal, I'd be surprised if we could get more than a reliever coming off a down year, or a couple of prospects like we got in the Iguchi/Mackowiak trades. I think it is best to hang on to him and hope he has a first half like he did this season so we may be able to get something of value for him at the deadline next season. I have no clue what Kenny is doing for this team because in all honesty this is a 5 year rebuilding project. The only guys on our team who have trade value are Buehrle and Konerko. Everyone else is worth a bag of balls to other GMs. Are you kidding? Garland's trade value blows Garcia's trade value out of the water.
