QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 06:33 PM) If we only socre three runs and Danks does not pitch a complete game or eight innings, I have bad news for you all. We will not win this game. I don't think we win with just 3 runs today. Danks isn't going longer than 6 innings today.
-
5 strike outs looking out of our 11 outs today.
-
Can we get to 0 for 54? That would be impressive!
-
Good time to throw his best pitches of the game to Wells and Glaus.
-
Got the change-up is a great spot there. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) Even if he didn't swing, he made no movement at all to get out of the way. When a pitch is that far inside, you don't have to. It was close, and I don't blame Ozzie for getting ejected in terms of just showing his frustration. I just don't want to hear Hawk complain about it all game. Don't give in on the 3-1 pitch!
-
That's not a swing...it was the follow-thru after being hit. Nice to see both managers of Chicago getting ejected when the umps make the right call. Danks is playing with fire today though.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) Random note: Josh Fields with the day off today. Does it mean he's one of the changes tomorrow? No, but I can dream right. We're fortunate that didn't get out of here, and darn almost had him at 2nd. I think it's very possible he'll get called up, probably replacing Gonzalez. I'd like to see him get the start against Igawa tomorrow.

Danks has to keep the ball down. Toronto's had some huge swings on his offspeed pitches so far today.
-
Wow, another pop up to the right side.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 06:00 PM) I got a phone call and missed Thome's homer. Nice to see he went yard, was it a classic Thome shot? Not really....it wasn't the typical low fastball that he drops the barrel on. It was more up, but it sounded very good. Made it a few rows up, probably 380 feet.
-
Remember when Crede used to drive the ball with authority to right center? That's what he's been missing this year.
-
Some positive news for me to post: the Sox will miss Oswalt next weekend.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) Jim Thome says...f*** YOU FATHOM Part of my disappointment is that I think he's just about the best hitter in baseball against righty starters. I expected a huge series out of him. I think last year was when he went a whole weekend at the dome and didn't make an out.
-
Welcome to this series Thome!

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:46 PM) If neither comes back soon which I am not sure is likely this team is toast, unless Owens can produce the .350 OBP. This order right now aged like a dog over the winter and is now done. The only hope is that Iguchi and the lead-off hitter can do their thing. The return of Pods and Erstad has little impact on the team's chances. We need our good hitters to actually play well. Counting on some mediocre players to return and lead this team is not going to improve this offense.

With Thomas on first and Phillips at the plate, it might be the slowest combination in baseball history. Danks doesn't have good command....again!

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:41 PM) LMFAO!!!! I don't think coaches can appeal either. That's pathetic and very Bevington-like if Lou wasn't arguing and was just putting on a show. It's amazing how fast Cub fans, paticular the internet ones, were all over his jock before the season started and now they realize he's worse than Baker, another guy they pimped before he got there. The funniest thing to me is that he keeps complaining about the players they have on the team, as if to say Hendry didn't bring in the type of players he wanted. That's comical, as how many articles were written about how Lou was able to sweet talk guys like Soriano and Lilly to come play for the Cubs?
-
So Hawk is announcing for the people of Europe today. I wonder if he'll educate them about the likes of Catfish, Yaz, Kaline, etc. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Crede and/or Dye need to be traded ASAP, Dye more so especially when Erstad or Podsednik come back. The lack of being able to make an adjustment by these hitters is down right pathetic and teams have figured these asswipes out. No way can we count on the return of Pods/Erstad. Both of them have injuries that are very easily reaggrevated.
-
This is one of those games where you need to play as many lefties as possible. Marcum has a pretty nasty slider/cutter.
-
So, who just quickly deleted anything bad they said after AJ's base running?
-
Wow, I'm so freaking sick of Joe Crede. I'd rather see Josh Fields strike out half the time, but at least hit some doubles, than see Crede continue to look like crap at the plate.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) hmm thanks for helpin me. im going on an alaskan cruise this summer, and i need a passport b/c alaska i guess is like on canada. yea pretty dumb, but by getting a passport, now next year i can see a the sox play in toronto. did u need a passport? QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) i've been there, it sucked. The roof was closed, it was dark and quiet the entire game. It felt like you were walking into an office building when you entered the park, and the food was god awful. The city was cool though. They have the lamest chant in the world there, forgot how it goes, but just remember they kept chanting "Baseball".
-
Remember when people were saying how much Sheffield sucked this year? He has better numbers than any of our hitters now.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) really, or is that sarcasm? and arent the tickets really expensive? No, I loved it. Tickets weren't that bad....you have to remember the whole currency issue. I was there for the rain delay game a few years back. Everyone should experience a game from the hotel room.
