  1. Be careful with Lamb here. Change-up should be the pitch of choice. NO WILD PITCHES!
  2. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) this seems like freddy's "lose my concentration" inning So they'll score via a wild pitch?
  3. Tough situation here, as I have a feeling Ensberg is going to be sitting on that slider.
  4. Garcia's in some trouble here. You can't give in to Berkman.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:23 AM) I can't wait until there is a big Soxtalk get together so I can get everybodies autographs. I had no idea we had so many big leaguers that came in the game threads. It's a privledge to be here with you guys. Only White Sox fans can get pissed at their players in a 0-0 game after winning 10 out of 11 in the playoffs. I don't give a flying f*** how many games they've won in a row, etc. They have 4 games left to win one game. The offense didn't come to play tonight, and if they go in a slump, the Astros have the pitching to shut us down for quite a while.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) I'm gonna trust the guy with the .400+ OBP and .922 OPS in the playoffs thank you very much. And I don't think he has one hit on the first pitch during the playoffs. As DAllen just said, if you swing at the first pitch, try to be dangerous, and don't just play pepper with the SS.
  7. QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) Has there been an out today that hasn't been critized on here? Yes, Garcia's two outs.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) You wouldn't have said that if he tripled into right center. Yes, but he didn't, and he took a rather weak swing at the fastball.
  9. Jphat...that was a fantastic AB. Pods should never swing at the first pitch.
  10. I hope Pods gets aggressive and tries to pull the ball again. He's much more dangerous when he swings hard instead of trying to place the ball in LF.
  11. Here's my thoughts on Backe. He's pitching a very good game, and he's found a great release point on his slider the last few innings. The Sox could do themselves a big favor if they just sit on that pitch the next few innings, and hope that he tries to sneak a fastball by and crush it. Our current approach of swinging for the fences isn't looking like it has a chance.
  12. Great double play. One of Iguchi's better turns under pressure.
  13. Watch out for the hit-and-run. Also, isn't it amazing what you can do to a slider when you don't try to hit a homer?
  14. This is one of those games where you wish you had more lefties in the lineup.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) That's just filthy. That's a called K if he doesn't swing. He's hitting his spots. He's throwing well, but we're also swinging like we've never seen a slider before.
  16. Uribe's timing seems a little off playing on that infield. It doesn't look like they have more/less dirt than most other fields.
  17. We have quite a few guys who struggle mightily against the outside slider/curve by a righty. I haven't seen any effort by guys like Rowand to stay on the pitch and take it to RF.
  18. Tough inning approaching for Garcia. That should have been a strike.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Well. they took some pitches! yay! And both PK and AJP had meatballs to hit that they just were way out in front of. Ozzie needs to get in their face and tell them to all stop trying to hit "the homer", and maintain a solid swing.
  20. Rowand looks like a freaking pitcher at the plate. How do you not know a slider is coming there? 2 sliders, followed by an inside fastball....doesn't take a genius to realize what was coming next.
