  1. Orioles are leading 2-1 in the 8th, not the 9th.
  2. Who's Hawk trying to convince more: Sox fans or himself?
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) Exaggerate much? Not at all. When Crede is struggling, no one puts a worse AB together than Crede. Some guys might be struggling, but at least they'll make the pitcher works. Crede would rather just pop up the first pitch weakly on the infield than to actually be a tough out.
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Wow. I just realized Timo and Blum are in the game (listening on gameday). What an intimidating lineup. Good to see Kenny on the golf course all day yesterday. It's not like we need another bat or anything. Why f*** with chemistry?
  5. One day, Crede's going to learn that when a sinker pitcher is on the mound, you have to guard the line.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) One of the easiest outs in the league...hands down. Not only that, but when he's struggling, he is the easiest out in the AL. Our left side of the infield is just a disgrace at the plate.
  7. Mr. Gold Glove Crede continues his f***tacular play.
  8. No homers to ARod here. Garland has a good sinker, but his slider looks very average tonight.
  9. Jeter just saw more pitches in that AB than Timo will see all night. Ok, I swear that's my last Timo bash for the night. Prove me wrong Timo!
  10. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) I wish TImo would poke his eye out with his mascara brush and go away. Sadly, Timo has as good of a chance as having a good night as half of our players. At least with Timo, there's a chance of him hitting a line drive. Crede is well past the point of being a tough out. And yes, this is coming from the founder of OMIT TIMO.
  11. At least Ozzie can't pull our best hitter with a one run lead in the 9th inning tonight.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Paul Konerko is the root of our problems anyway. What we need is a lineup full of hitters who aren't concerned about silly stats like HRs and OBP. A line-up full of Timo Perez' will bring us a world championship. If PK is out for an extended period of time, we will not make the playoffs. He's the only one who's been having consistently good ABs lately.
  13. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Lineup changed, ESPN Radio saying that PK is out because of his back, Blum is in Things keep getting worse and worse. Figures, by far our most dangerous hitter in the lineup goes down.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) Why is it awful? Is it becasue it's August 19th and they're worried about selling playoff tickets now instead of the last day of the season, or is it awful because of the actual commercial? The actual commercial is just real lame. I fully understand the purpose of trying to sell season tix next year in order to piggyback playoff tix with it.
  15. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) The Neyer comments were about Clemens back. There is concern about his back, and thus why he might not be a good bet down the stretch. Not sure why everyone read something else into it. Neyer's comments had everything to do with the steroid rumor. He was definitely talking in "code", but if he thought it was cause of an injury, he would have said something like that.
  16. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) For the rumor to be this widespread, you have to think there is at least a decent possibility of truth to it. Either way though, I hope it is confirmed one way or another soon. Oh, and it'snot just message boards. Radio shows have mentioned a similar rumor too, plus with Neyer's comments yesterday, I dunno, i personally have a hard time believing its bulls*** Or maybe it just so happened that a source who's usually accurate with his information received bad information.
  17. Anyone else hear the latest Sox radio commercial dealing with playoff tickets? I appreciate the work that B. Boyer has done this year, but the commercials have been just awful.
  18. Eckstein comes from a family with a history of a lot of medical problems. I will basically guarantee he's never done steroids. I think a lot of these rumors are coming from the same suggestion everyone is making that it's all-stars from the NL Central and AL East. And BTW, that J. Damon comment sounds like quite the alibi already.
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Carpenter has a lot of wins. I was thinking Bud Selig. And yes, Carpenter deserves Cy Young this season.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) On the NL side, I hope the voters recognize that in 7 of Clemen's starts the team was shut out. Zero runs in 7 starts. He should be the clear front runner for the Cy Young, but his record will probably knock him out. I'm thinking that someone else will probably knock him out.
