Buehrle thinks Rangers might be cheating
QUOTE(JoshPR @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:40 AM) Ohh Ohhh There goes this thread. Hopefully the mods don't delete this thread cause of the personal attack. And trust me spiff...if there's one person who should have a thread asking what in the world is wrong with them, it's Iguchi. He's had back-to-back horrible performances.

Buehrle thinks Rangers might be cheating
QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:38 AM) No it's not loser's limp, it's pure frustration. He said he made good pitches, and somehow they knocked him around. Stop being such an ass every time a player has a bad game. Well, Buehrle's not the first pitcher to get roughed up in Texas. I haven't heard any other pitchers come out in the press and basically accuse the Rangers of cheating. Buehrle's my favorite player on the Sox....but he's gotten a little too "open" in what he says to the media this year. Between this and the Cubs cheating comment he made, he's coming close to crossing the line of displaying good sportsmanship.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:34 AM) Cliff Floyd cleared waivers. Hmm... what do you think that the Mets would want for him? I thought Floyd has a no-trade clause, and the Sox are on his list of teams he wouldn't go to. Very surprising for a guy from the south suburbs. With the Mets making a run, I can't see them trading him. He's the type of guy who would just destroy the ball in a hitter's park.

The most hated sox player ever
Even though he was a nice guy, I really disliked Sandy Alomar on the Sox. This team didn't win anything with him as the catcher, and he just seemed like he aged about 5 years every season he was here. Danny Wright was just painful to watch, and Mike Jackson and Paniagua were disgraceful. Navarro has to be the king of Sox hatred though, especially considering his salary.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:29 AM) This team needs a LH bat that can drive in runs. Todd Walker fills that bill. Bellhorn doesn't. They don't need Walker to play 2nd or 3rd. He can DH. He should DH. Only putting on the leather occasionally. Basically, he's a perfect fit for what we need without having to sell the farm. That's why it's disappointing to hear we have no interest in him.

Buehrle thinks Rangers might be cheating
Yeah, there's a definite difference between having a coach on the bench trying to steal the signs, and having someone supposedly in the outfield relaying the signs to the hitter. To me, it sounds like Buehrle has a big case of Loser's Limp. This is the type of comment I'd expect to hear from Prior/Wood/Zambrano after a rough outing.

Braves trade for Hollandsworth
QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:19 AM) Ohh, I'm sure that they could make a spot for him. How could we move Everett from the 3rd spot in the lineup? PK might not have a lot of range, but he'll pick everything at first base. Where would he play, that's what I want to know? Of course, I'm being completely sarcastic. The scary thing is that Hawk has said those lines in the last few weeks.

Braves trade for Hollandsworth
QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:15 AM) They heard that the Sox needed a power hitter. WHERE WOULD HE PLAY?

Buehrle thinks Rangers might be cheating
This isn't really too big of a deal. I just want this team to shut up, and go out and do their job though. I don't want to see the 2004 Cubs the rest of the way. This comment was very Dusty-esque.

Buehrle thinks Rangers might be cheating
If we're cheating at the Cell...we need to stop! Obviously, the players don't know which light is which!

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:15 AM) If Bellhorn is well below average, I wonder what that says about Joe Crede, Juan Uribe and some other White Sox players. Yikes. Yep, Crede and Uribe are extremely below average offensively this season. Those two are the biggest reasons for the Sox below average offense this season. How can you argue that Bellhorn isn't below average this season?

McCarthy likely to start at Texas
QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:46 AM) If we lose both ends of the twinbill and the Indians win ... I wonder if some Sox fans are gonna be jumping off buildings. I wrote this in an attempt to garner a reverse jinx. Yeah, it's going to be quite the meltdown on here if we lose both games. If we did lose 3 straight games to the Rangers facing the starting pitchers we have....the Sox deserve to have their lead diminish rapidly. The first game tomorrow is incredibly important. That would be a lot of pressure to put on McCarthy in the second game.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:47 AM) Personal attack? I said that's ignorant, to say "I could care less what this 'poll' says", which it is. If you take it as a personal attack, then that's your problem. You called me ignorant. You said you weren't surprised considering the source. In my book, that's a personal attack. I'm sure you won't get in trouble, so I'll just drop it. And since when do I have to form my opinion because of what some "fan scouting report" says? It sure sounds like a scientific judgment of a player's attributes. Thankfully, Bellhorn is going to sign with the Yankees tomorrow, so this lovefest for a well below average player will end.

Indians will be in first by Sep 15
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) In all fairness, I smell your fear. Stay away from the dark side. Despite what Casey Blake may have told you, the injuns are not a better team. They might not be a better team, but they're definitely peaking right now, while the Sox are not playing at the level they have all year.

Indians will be in first by Sep 15
Tomorrow is a very important day for the Sox. If we lose the first game of the doubleheader, we're going to need McCarthy to help us avoid at least our second 4 game losing streak in a very short period. We can't afford to have guys like Buehrle and Garland losing to no-name pitchers.

Indians will be in first by Sep 15
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) You're defeating the spirit of this thread with that kind of talk. You're supposed to say something like, "We've LOST three of the last 8! We suck!!" Or just two in a row

Here's what they are saying
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) Oh yeah, tell them we're not sweating. This team is the furthest thing from desperate. We're not desperate for offense? If that's true, then those Desperate Housewives must really be sluts if we're not considered desperate right now.

Which hitter would you take?
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) Which player would you take from just an offensive viewpoint? I just couldn't help but notice how people were talking about Bellhorn's OBP despite his terrible BA. Player B. Sometimes, you need the person to actually get a hit to score a run.

Game Thread 8/29
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) I found it funny however that when we had the tying run at the plate in the ninth, there was I beleive a single post about it. Gooch makes an error and there are 6 pages. I agree, when I got home from work, I was shocked at how there was hardly a post about the 9th inning. It's good to see Uribe get 3 hits tonight. I know we complain we need more offense....but we might as well cheer for who we have on this team, cause that's almost definitely who we'll have the rest of the way. I wish Pods could have come back a week earlier, as maybe it could have given KW and Ozzie enough time to figure out that his influence on the offense likely isn't enough to get his team rolling.

White Sox could be interested
Furcal really worries me as the type of guy who might get real lazy once he gets the big contract.

Game Thread 8/29
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) Whats up guys, I just got home, I was listening to the radio before the game ended. They said they scored like 3 unearned runs?? I saw Gooch had THREE errors. Errorless this game would have been ours, we have been playing bad d for quite a while now. How bad were Gooch's errors?? Ofcourse they cost us the game but what happened?? I don't think the errors changed the outcome of this game. A closer game would have had Cordero in earlier, and even though it's possible, I doubt we would have got 3 runs in the 9th inning against him.

Game Thread 8/29
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Actually this game thread wasn't that bad. We were getting our butt kicked, so... there was reason to debate as opposed to the ass-kicking. It didn't get too personal, and I thank you all. Yeah, I don't know what people expect in these game threads if the Sox play as poorly as they do tonight. When you have the AL starting pitcher in the all-star game against Juan F'n Dominguez....you should win that game...period! The whole Buehrle debate got a little long, and I still don't think anyone is saying that he's a bad pitcher.

White Sox could be interested
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) So Duque lying about his injury earlier this season did not effect his relationship with Ozzie whatsoever? Well, a month or so ago, Ozzie was saying how great our 4 pitchers were, and left out Contreras.

Is Buehrle going to rack up 120 pitches tonight because of our terrific manager?

Game Thread 8/29
Meanwhile, the fantastic Indians bullpen has completely shut down the Tigers. I wish I was different...but how can people be so sure we'll make the playoffs?
