  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) Just hope he doesnt pull this managing s*** during the playoffs. If he is trying to get someone the win in the playoffs while they get destroyed it wont be cool. I'll say this right now: If the Sox make the playoffs, I'll do everyone a favor and not post in the gamethreads.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) Maybe his pitching change philosophy is like his injury philosophy. You take the inning you should be yanked and add one. Bravo
  3. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) It's not always the smart decision, Ortiz could've easily hit one off of Cotts as he did Buerhle, but I hate it as a fan because it really slows everything down. Cotts hasn't allowed a run in 16 outings. Buehrle had gone 6 innings, and it was obvious he had nothing. The smart call is letting your bullpen try to win the game instead of leaving your starting pitcher out for another inning when he wasn't sharp.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) His swing looks good, he'll get beat on a good pitch and K or hit it hard somewhere, just watch. His swing is way too long right now. He's getting good pitches to hit, and his back is just flying open. That's why he's been hitting a lot of lazy fly balls to RF. He has nothing behind his swing.
  5. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) thats the crede we all know and love....man he sucks, but we dont need lowell Lowell sucks too. Trust me, we would have been trying to trade him next season if we got him this year.
  6. What's this philosophy of finding one sole person to blame if the Sox lose? There's quite a few people in every game that can be held repsonsible if the team loses. Crede and Buehrle sure didn't help us tonight.
  7. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) God, I hate a Francona managed game, he's all about situational matchups, even if it means 5 pitching changes in 2 innings. Yep, f*** that coach for making the smart baseball decisions during a game. It's a good thing Ozzie doesn't have any real specialist pitchers, because I don't think he'd know how to use them.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) Thank god their bullpen sucks Then again their crappy bullpen has to face our crappy hitters. So its kindoff a wash. I actually think their bullpen will be great in the playoffs. Very good specialist pitchers, and a manager who knows how to utilize their limited ability.
  9. We need Crede to get on base, just so Uribe won't be leading off the 9th (or should I say Timo).
  10. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) 5 outs left. Offense should do its best from this point on to assure Buehrle of defeat. It's not their fault Buehlre did his Felix Diaz impression, but does anyone expect them to score off Timlin/Schilling? Matters who we have up in the 9th. I'm actually cautiously optimistic we could score in the 9th.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) Crede again f***s up in a boston series. Great. I'm not a fan of Crede, but if we lose this game, Buehrle is the goat. We gave him enough runs that we should have expected a win with him on the mound, and he s*** the bed tonight.
  12. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) The automatic guy vs. RH get's his 2 now the automatic LHP will get AJ It's called putting your bullpen in the best chance to succeed. If a certain pitcher is better against righties or lefties...why not put them in against those types of hitters?
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) I would imagine that Remlinger will be in there only to pitch to AJ. THen Bradford. Remlinger sucks vs lefties. I doubt they'll bring him in for AJP.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) Timlin for the record is highly overrated, hopefully we can get to him. I wouldn't mind a reliever with a 1.42 ERA if that means he's overrated.
  15. Good job by Buehrle keeping us in the game....even if there's no chance he should have been kept in the game.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Mark is at 109 pitches he has given up 6 ER and he is still out there. GOOD JOB Ozzie. Do you contribute anything to this board other than bringing up good statistics bashing a coaches performance?
  17. How much do you think Red Sox fans hate Millar? Do they talk about the likelihood that he did steroids in the past as much as we do about players around the league?
  18. Good news....Hendrickson was finally taken out of the game!
  19. Will someone please wake up Ozzie? The guy has given up 6 earned runs, and 11 hits while having a lot of rockets hit against him. Pull the f***ing pitcher, it's not his night. Is Ozzie waiting for him to give up 8 runs tonight before pulling him? And please don't b**** at me for second guessing or bashing Ozzie....this s*** was beyond predictable and we were saying it after the 6th inning.
  20. TAKE HIM OUT! What is to gain by leaving Buehrle in right now? Hell, bring in Viz!
  21. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) What the f*** we were up 4-0!!! And we all said it might as well have been a 1-0 lead. Come on, we can still win this game though.
  22. Wow, our infield defense continues to just flat out suck lately.
  23. That was very predictable. How many meatballs can a pitcher throw before he gets taken out?
