Colon has to leave the game with a leg injury. Angels have a good bullpen, but Colon was pinpoint today with his stuff.

QUOTE(3E8 @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) That's our first Timoment of 2005 people! You've been dying to use that term, havent you?
-
Man, what happened to Crede's level swing? He's been popping up a ton of pitches, especially low ones. Meanwhile, in the Twins game, Colon seems hurt after mowing down the Twins all game.
-
Well, that play is going to keep Timo on the roster the rest of the year. Anyways, thankfully it was successful. Come on Crede, bust it wide open.
-
Am I the only one who thinks Widger is our most dangerous hitter at the plate right now?
-
Tigers can ph with Inge or Pudge here.

QUOTE(quickman @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) Hawk and the gerbal needs to get out of Ozzies ass. I haven't heard Hawk criticize anything this entire year.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) I refuse to complain about Oz or the pitchers. Until I see an offense, there's no point to b**** about them. Good point. I think it's just because we're all so frustrated with this s***. The last 3 losses, and tonight's games, have been some of the worst I can ever imagine (not dealing with the Twins).

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) I'm not hallucinating here am I? Didn't I read where the sox were going to be VERY careful to number Orlando's innings and number of starts because they know he'll get hurt if he goes 200 innings over 35 starts? I'm not a f***ing idiot am I? We're all f***ing idiots for believing anything mgmt tells us. The fact that Timo got the start tonight after doing exactly what KW b****ed out Lee for doing last year shows what the Lee move really was (cost-cutting, even though I thought the end result was fine for our team).

You can tell that the book on Konerko is out.....pitch him fastballs inside. He'll either chop it to the left side or take a called 3rd looking in there. He's not quick enough right now to get his hands inside the ball. Konerko should have been looking to right center w/the bases loaded, and not to pull the ball. I was worried he'd hit into a 5-4-3 triple play.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) What the f*** is Ozzie doing? Why in the hell is El Duque still in the game? :banghead :banghead :banghead Because he has absolutely no feel for the game. How many times have you seen him leave a batter in one inning too long? I know he tries to get the starter's confidence level up, but you also owe it to the team to make the proper decision. Hernandez is at 105 pitches starting this inning.......and it's not like he's not injury prone.

No excuses for Timo that AB. In that situation, you have to be protecting.

My prediction for tomorrow's lineup: - Pods - Iguchi - Everett - PK - Dye - Rowand - Widger - Crede - Lopez
-
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) I was surprised how bad Pods arm is. I mean realistically, and let's not start the big trade debate, but he's not a better left-fielder than Lee right? I mean they have to be equals at best correct? Both of them are below average outfielders at what's the easiest position to play in baseball. I've been shocked more at the lack of extra base hits between Pods and Iguchi.
-
I've been watching the Twins with Morneau back, and their lineup is damn good now. Stewart, Ford, Mauer, Jones, Hunter, and Morneau are all very tough outs. The Twins bullpen is also back to seemingly all having an ERA under 2.
-
Couple of thoughts: - Pods is a bad defender. With his speed, he should be much better out there. He doesn't read balls very well at all. - Our entire outfield play has sucked beyond belief this year. Terrible throws, terrible decisions, and too many dropped balls already. - It's not just that our offense isn't scoring, but we're not even hitting the ball hard at all. This has been pathetic......and I don't see us turning it around anytime soon. We have easy outs in our lineup, period!
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) Possibly lingering effects of the injured knee? He's been slow this entire season though. I didn't expect someone with Ichiro speed, but I thought he'd be able to steal 20 bases or so. Can't really complain about him though, at least he's playing the game the right way.

One homer for the Sox in the last 75 innings or so.
-
0 for last 26 now with RISP
-
DJ just called the pitcher "Big Johnson"
-
Crede's back to trying to pull every single pitch, regardless of location.
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) I wish you did that last night Timo. You just knew Timo would fly out last night in his last AB. I wish I could have found someone to bet on that.
-
What the f*** is that? Like I said, I've never seen a team lose their momentum as fast as we have.
-
Another time where we let a lefty hitter beat us with 2 outs against a righty with an empty first base. I'm very impressed with how the Tigers are being managed tonight. They look like they're having fun.
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) It hurts me to say it, but I don't want Konerko back next year. If we're going to try and play smallball, we can't have Konerko on our team. He's the epitome of a homer or nothing player now, and we all know how slow he is. I'm with you, I've grown to love Konerko on the Sox. If we were to struggle, and find ourselves down 10 games or so around the deadline, we could get a boatload of talent for him.
