  1. I am all for this move.....and really do think it would be that thing to put us over the top and be a world series team.....we get this down were gonna have over 100 wins this season if not 110
  2. we should start a contest to see who can be the first to post the next article about the SOX being the second team in the second city....
  3. Francona picked his all-star coaches......... no ozzie...... Articlehttp://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/baseball/mlb/06/22/bc.bbo.all.starcoaches.ap/index.html Alan Trammell from the tigers? what the hell how does this guy deserve respect like this... not that its that big of deal, but it sorta tells you how he is gonna pick the rest of the reserves.... Looks like its not just the fans that make it a popularity contest..... Sorry just got me a little steamed
  4. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) This is the kind of thinking that will bite you in the ass when the strategy totally backfires in a more important game...say, for example, the playoffs and say, for example, against a better team than the AAAA Royals. Frank is the #3 hitter plain and simple.....sounds like your the only one arguing this point.....I bet if you asked arow he would be like hell yea put Frank in the 3 spot......... hasn't bitten us in the ass yet and I don't see how it could....just because Rowand is down in the lineup doesnt mean he isn't gonna hit the ball still.....we keep on winnin so whatever ozzie has been doin has to be workin QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) HE......HELPS........PK........IN.........THE.......LINEUP. Thank you. Paulie 3-4..........hmm
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) One big difference is that profits go to Chisox charities for this. So therefore they can be written off in your taxes
  6. QUOTE(mac9001 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) Even though it'd be nice to see a White Sox start the AS game again, at this point i think Roy Halladay is most deserving. Yea his ERA is like a run lower but still......lets se how he fares against the Scrubs
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) Garland should have completed the game. No excuses really. Other than that is was a great game all around. Give Marte some work.....we got the W, were 9 games up.........who cares about the CG, he would have gotton it if it was still a shut out Jon Garland
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) 5) During Sunday night's game on ESPN, though the White Sox were the team being televised, they had a special about some country singer and his love for the LA Dodgers, whom the Sox were playing, and then a 5-minute documentary on the CUBS! THE CUBS?? WHAT THE HELL?? I was flipping to the basketblal game when they had that toby keith crap on, and the funniest thing about it was I flipped back and they had a TIMO clip in the music video or whatever..... I laughed my ass off
  9. I really like this idea, but I am thinkin it might need its own forum, ya know what I mean so people can list by date and not have to cruise through pages and pages to see if they can find what they want
  10. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) LOL...Like Jello! Sometimes it is hard to see through Jello, especially if it has chunks of fruit in it.....and with a bunch of Cubs fans at Comiskey there are definatly some fruits....
  11. QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) A short bus? I think its called a tard cart.......i am bad
  12. I would like to ask everyday can someone please post an ESPN column that rips on the Sox, I enjoy them...... Oh wait that already happens
  13. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) The Mayors a Sox fan. (I've always wondered why he hanst gotten the mob to blast hte urinal) After the concrete fell last year he was lobbying to get the place torn down.....that was freakin great.....too bad he was unsuccesful.......oh well hopefully we will be hearing the Air Raid sirens this year
  14. QUOTE(Jake @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) I see some rappers wear sox hats. Like this morning the Game wore it in parts of his video. I think Dre was the first in the California Love video......not much of a rap fan, but you know Kanye is a Sox fan.... "Southside, outside, Westside, let's ride Eastside, right B-Side, Lakeshore Drive And I'm Chi-Town's finest" happens to leave out Northside..........hmm
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Baserunning: Even willie harris is getting better at stealing bases in situations where it is needed. Not to mention his great bunt during the weekend which allowed us to win the game. The 2nd to third tag-up of Polite was unbelieveable. The first base to third on singles seems to be a common occurence, which was not always so with the previous teams. When watching Willie's at bat after his first bunt attempt that he popped up they panned over to ozzie in the dugout and you could see him explaining what he did wrong and how to lay it down.....low and behold the next pitch was a perfect bunt..... also the other play in recent memory that comes to mind is last night when Frank fouled and Osuna stole third, then tagged up and scored.......Mind you we sometimes rip on Cora for being too aggressive but that was great coaching to tell him to get back to the bag hold and break for home... All in all I think this coaching staff is doing a hell of a job this year......plus for all you Walker haters we now have another hitting coach in Frank Thomas that seems to have been helping everyone
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Listening to 810 AM radio here in KC. They just had Jason Stark (or is it Starks?) from ESPN. The host asked him what he thought of Ozzie Guillen. Jason ripped Ozzie to shreds. Saying that it was a huge mistake for the Sox to give him an extention and that he could count the number of teams that would want Ozzie as their manager on one hand....and there would be fingers left over. He was mostly beefing about how Ozzie speaks his mind too much and eventually it'll wear thin on the team and fans. He also didn't think this team could go all the way. Hey Jason...... :finger
  17. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) No. The answer is no. We do not need the 5th starter for the post season. It would be pointless to pay a high price for such a starter to try & secure home field advantage in the AL. Buerhle, Garcia, Garland, & Contreras are the play off rotation right now. Any starter you trade for better be pitching as good or better as these 4. We need a replacement for Luis in the pen more than we need another starter. We don't need a 5th starter we need another starter that can fill innings......by doing this you also replace Luis in the pen
  18. I would have to say you go out and get another starter.....someone who can go 6 innings, your killing 2 birds with one stone geting BP help from Duque and a guy that can eat up some innings......If JR and KW want to go all the way something is going to happen, I just have a feeling the arms need a little tweaking to take us deep in the post season......
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) Actually, Schwimmer will be ball boy down the left field line for the rest of the year. He needed a job. Can't beat the gooch avatars back to back and now to back
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Yes, he is a Dodger fan. Can't wait to see David Schwimmer at the Sox game tonight. We should have him sing take me out to the ballgame, that would be sweet
  21. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) Umpires: HP: Jerry Meals. 1B: Mike Winters. 2B: Bruce Froemming. 3B: Hunter Wendelstedt............... same crap crew from Oakland roadtrip so looks like we can be looking for some crap calls.....lets just hope when they do blow calls they do it for the home team
  22. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) I figured someone would come on here and make a dumb post like this.. :headshake Like I said... I am NOT impressed with his AAA #'s because of how he has been advertised... a top prospect and compared to MB and Prior and a 5 ERA in AAA? And its not like he has control issues, because he has good K/BB numbers... he gives up way too many HR's and Like I said and MEANT I do not think he is as good as people believe.. Ill judge him how I want, you judge him how you want.. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) This is coming from a guy promoting D'Angelo Jimenez in his member name. :headshake Hahahaha I am guessing he made this name shortly after he won the game for us against the scrubs....
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) It has to get mentioned. The July 1, 2003 game against Minny. It was Robbie and Carl's first game in a Sox uni; I wanted us to take that so bad. Kong hits the PH game-tying HR. Frank goes to LF w/ the walkoff the very next inning. I also remember that being the game that ended Paulie's beg. of the year slump.....
