  1. I am in no way affiliated with southsidesox but they put out a story on Melendez today if anyone is interested. Also, I know it shouldn't matter but please get my votes off of 13, it creeps me out. Tristadecaphobia! https://www.southsidesox.com/2018/8/4/17649910/under-the-radar-cristofer-melendez-dsl-former-astros

Check out the line Name IP H R ER BB SO HRA Outs BF NP ERA Cristofer Melendez 6.0 4 0 0 0 11 0 18 20 43 1.65 He is 20 so kinda old but looks to have really turned a corner this year. To late to bring stateside?
  3. Robert 1-4 have to admit, I cringed when I saw he stole a base.
  4. Not sure I see them protecting Danish, yet constantly leaving Lopez and Giolitto go to long and spoil good efforts.
  5. Pull him. Let outing be positive and give reliever opportunity to have no one on base.
  6. Robert playing his second game in AZL.
  7. Hi y'all. Been away with the wife for her birthday. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?cid=&lid=&org=145&sc=&sid=milb&t=affiliate&ymd=20180803
  8. Perhaps pitch framing metrics differ from dwar which show up as positives for him.
  9. WAR of 2.4, 2.6 , 3.6, and 3.8 so far this year! 27 years old. this to me is exactly the kind of guy you target. .311/ .361/ .531 and positive metrics on defense. I believe not a free agent till after 2021 or am I wrong. if after 2020, I would reconsider unless extension agreed upon.
  10. Thats why I was doing a quantity over single (preferred by Nats) high ender.
  11. Would you get involved on Realmuto? They were asking for Robles and Kieboom from Nats. Evidently willing to give one not both. Collins, Rutherford and Adams? More?
  12. They are valuing him like an ace and I don't see it. Increasing ERA for several years and decreasing WAR. 4.0, 2.1, 1.3 and .5 this year.

  14. Are you envisioning Avilan, Ceddeno and Gomez being traded? Don't think all would be. I agree on most of your removables. I think Tilson as a CF to avoid rushing a prospect gets half a year, Rondon as one of few ready middle infield depth and maybe Palka hang. I think you could get something for Smith as a backup catcher in the off season. Cordell gets Sept to prove something. I would probably keep Ruiz. Clarkin?
  15. Zavala catching after catching last night so must be healthy.
  16. Will need to be protected on 40 man if does well. Hence if he is not injured and pitching well, I think we will see him this year.
  17. Tommy John in 2012. Missed 13 and 14 seasons. Improved command this year. I found mid 90's fastball, good slider, and flashes a change up. Previously lefties gave him trouble and now excelling vs them. On July 6 lefties hitting .182 and righties .179 Said to be able to go multiple innings. Guess AAA to start. September call up if doing well?
  18. He had just been promoted to AAA. Very high walk rates until this year where something may have clicked.
  19. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?cid=&lid=&org=145&sc=&sid=milb&t=affiliate&ymd=20180728 https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates AAA TBD AA Tanner Banks A Parke. Banks 26 LHP having his best year. Old, but becoming a prospect? Parke 23 yo LHP having a good year esp for a 2017, 21 rounder.
  20. We are about to have a lot of young pitching come up. I am no fan of his performance, but you have to appreciate the job Shields has done teaching the young pitchers professionalism and helping them in general. Several of the players have mentioned this. He will be gone soon or at latest after this season. If you trade Rodon, there is no-one on the current roster for that role. I am assuming Rodon is willing and able to do that. If he is not this point doesn't matter. If he remains healthy this season, you discuss parameters of an extension. You have an idea of what it would take. You reassess as you approach next years deadline. If you are having a bad year as a team and now it looks like 2021 to contend, you probably move him. If he is pitching well, he would bring a substantial return. If the team is doing well and he is healthy and performing, extend him and you have your #1 or #2 locked up.
  21. Look at my take on the 40 man in the other thread. It means you expose another player from this list: That means you keep four of Guerrero, Danish, at AAA currently and could get trials this year. AA players Polo, Burr, Mendick, Ruiz. At A+ Forbes So you would protect three of the above instead of four if Hamilton promoted. As far as Danish, I don't know what we have in him. When he was taken off the roster, he was pitching poorly. Now some think he may be useful. Would someone take a chance on him for 50k? Maybe. Give him his chance and let his performance answer the question.
