  1. Funny, I was just looking at this and constantly ponder future 40 man roster issues. There is a reliever who has slowly and steadily progressed up the levels. Incredible numbers lower and leveling off now. Doesn't throw 100 but k's over one per inning yet doesn't walk many which is very different from most of our relief prospects. Has a WHIP of about 1.0 for career and now at AAA. Giving up a few to many HR but first time at AAA. 24 yoRHP. Often pitches over an inning per appearance. Think he will be rule 5 eligible after this year. I wonder if he could be a solid middle reliever, not a all star mind you but solid which does have value. So far he has been very steady as he moves up which again is different than many relievers. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Matt Foster. 4. Thanks for the info! Crazy that his high school isn't over. Ours has been out nearly a month. More importantly 4 in the fold(I hope, until ink dried .......). Wish Vaughn and Thompson would sign.
  5. I thought in the past it was because we had some college world series guys but not so much this year. Wish 1-3 were in the fold and playing. Maybe some working around the slot numbers or trying to get one more later high school prospect? But 1-3 could get valuable experience instead, we will probably get "oh they had a long layoff so we don't want to push them".
  6. fifth round LHP Metzdorf makes debut for rookie league tonight

  8. Post playing days, I wonder if Jose would have interest in any kind of organizational position post baseball. An aide to the guys who come from Latin America/Carribean? Some what continuing in a mentorship role. Maybe around the big club when they are at home and minors when they are on the road. If he doesn't want that time commitment, he could still be an ambassador and do the spring training visit and a few during the season etc.
  9. Returned last night in rookie ball 1ip 2h 0r 3k.
  10. Don't like a guy screwing up his swing for that though.
  11. No Antoni Flores 18 yo SS. Their current #6 prospect. Weird they did sign two Flores that year and sadly one did pass away.
  12. We will have a 40 man crunch coming. We need to go for a real young prospect like Flores if it is with Boston. Could add a lottery DSL type guy also.
  13. I want him to do really well. I am afraid we might see .190/ .250/ .375
  14. vs lefties you have Anderson twice. Do you want Moncada in there somewhere? Not trying to be a dick, just wondering re: your lineup
  15. Jose has earned the right of a sit down with GM and Jose's agent now not after the season. It needs to be explained that it is likely more and more dhing is in the plan. If he does not agree/understand this then you move him. If he is agreeable and you can get decent prospects, cough cough Astros, you trade him with a gentleman's agreement of an off season resigning. Yes there is a risk of him not coming back but his actual production can probably be replaced cheaper. If he is adamantly against a trade then you get a fair or discounted resign which if you can't reach an agreement upon, you trade him.
  16. I am hoping for three innings, one walk, 3-4 k's
  17. Well if we had done what I suggested, he would have gotten about 1.5 more up front and we would have had a relatively competent bat in RF or dhing on occasion. His performance possibly would be flippable at deadline if he were to heat up a little before the deadline also.

  19. C'mon. We are all fans and part of the team. It is "WE Is" LOL
  20. We haven't been ahead 10-1 much for many years, we don't know how to act LOL
  21. Gio struggling. Has gone deep a lot. If we score runs I might be tempted to give him a rest.
  22. If I counted correctly, the current high schoolers 11th round and below went for 210 over the allotted 125k per. That will have to come from the 1-10 pool. Beard at about 175 under helps.

  24. Yeah its just not a "oh he is gonna miss a year". Some guys never get back but I guess 85% success is better than the 100% failure of the pre surgery days.
  25. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates https://www.milb.com/scores/whitesox/2019-06-12 Kubat did well again yesterday. I know he is not supposed to be much of a prospect but I think he has earned the right to try AAA.
