Well if we had done what I suggested, he would have gotten about 1.5 more up front and we would have had a relatively competent bat in RF or dhing on occasion. His performance possibly would be flippable at deadline if he were to heat up a little before the deadline also.

If I counted correctly, the current high schoolers 11th round and below went for 210 over the allotted 125k per. That will have to come from the 1-10 pool. Beard at about 175 under helps.

Yeah its just not a "oh he is gonna miss a year". Some guys never get back but I guess 85% success is better than the 100% failure of the pre surgery days.

I agree he has been a useful major league player. When signed he made some sense as we didn't have a lot of those around. Now, I hope he gets up and is decent so he can get us a lottery ticket in a trade. No AAAA players as we have a 40 man crunch coming but some guy who most likely never gets out of A or AA but has a chance to be good.

Think Rutherford is 13-30 this month. He hit .150ish in April .216 in May with some hits late in the month. Hopefully this is more than just a good stretch and he is putting it together. Failing and then succeeding would be great.

I agree let him have a great start but I fear with Banuelos and Despaigne coming they may try to milk it.

In the future sox interview with Hostetller, he indicated we wouldn't be able to sign all the high schoolers outside the top 12. Made it sound like one for sure and possibly one or two more depending on the dollars available to spend.

The DSL team is 2-2. Isn't that close to last years win total? I remember their record was terrible.

Sad for him. For the team, he can go on 60 day dl. Would open up a 40 man roster spot so one of the veterans at AAA could be added if called up. I expect a 40 man crunch at the end of the year and expect Nicky to be outrighted or cut, maybe get a minor league resign and spring invite.

If he continues to steal well, rarely k's, not a pure pull hitter by any means, would the two hole be unreasonable? Gotta figure any time Robert on first and Madrigal singles, Robert goes to third. Also Madrigals patience may allow Robert to steal second. First third situation may allow Madrigal to take second?
