  1. Well Santeliz is only 22 years old and on the 40 man roster so I'd say keep an eye on him.
  2. My copy Killzone 2 shipped 2 hours ago from Amazon. Can't wait to play it tomorrow.
  3. There definitely needs to be a representative from the '05 team preferably kicking Baines off anyone's mountain. Frank, Buehrle/Ozzie, Aparicio/Fox, Whoever. The Sox don't exactly have an illustrious history of great players, probably the worst of any team that's been around for 60+ years. You could probably make an argument for Maggs (better baseball player than Baines) and Konerko being included on Mt. Rushmore.
  4. Oh my god, what a horrible day for Chicago Sports legends. RIP to both. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-2...,0,595890.story
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) So if we make our team out of guys who are out of options or who have to pass through waivers, it becomes Owens, Betemit, Lillibridge, Kroeger, Nix, and then an open spot if you count starting 2b and CF? Does Lilli have an option left? Who am I missing? Edit, was missing Wise. So unless Lillibridge has an option left, we're talking Owens, Wise, Betemit, Lillibridge, Kroeger, Nix, with a backup catcher somewhere presumably. Read it: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4797/2009...actsheetns8.jpg I included option years.
  6. Getz has all 3 options remaining, Owens is out.
  7. Yeah I wouldn't call him Slayer if I met him in person.
  8. If Hudson stays healthy this year he'll get $8M, something tells me that sort of cash just isn't in the Sox's budget. Even if the money was there I'm not convinced the Sox see Hudson as an $8M upgrade over Getz/Lillibridge.
  9. QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) just look at it this way: we should use Slayer as often as possible. if it sticks, it will have been because of us. I say we go for it. I can just imagine it catching on and having Hawk call him Slayer during a game having absolutely no clue where and how it originated. There would just be something so satisfying about the next star of the franchise being called a pussy slayer by crusty old baseball announcers.
  10. And Jhonny Nunez closes it out with a 1-2-3 ninth that included a K. The Sox had some pitching on display today, very impressive. 9 IP, 7 H, 0 BB, 7 K, 1 ER
  11. 4-1 Sox going into the bottom of the 9th, Jhonny Nunez in to close it out.
  12. Flowers entered the game for Corky and promptly struck out.

  14. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) The (more specific) point I was alluding to was, in 2010 there will be a big name (Viciedo, Fields) or one of the current standing 2B (Lilli, Nix, Getz, /Betemit/) missing the team entirely We seem to have too much depth in the IF. 2B - Getz SS - Beckham 3B - Fields LF - Viciedo CF - Alexei RF - Quentin 1B - Viciedo/Fields 2B - Getz SS - Ramirez 3B - Beckham LF - Viciedo/Fields RF - Quentin DH - Viciedo/Fields
  15. Cowley: Beckham's first hack at a big-league pitcher? A walk with a little bat flip on top of it.
  16. Cuban Pimp done for the day. Slayer in at short.
  17. Old Comiskey US Cellular Field Cinergy Field - s*** hole, drunk guy tumbled down the steps in the upper deck and nearly fell over the railing to his death Jacobs Field - sat in the upperdeck which is just as steep as the Cell's used to be. Very good looking stadium. Coors Field - final score was like 18 to 10, Darryl Kile's final start as with the Rockies, gave up 7 runs over 3 IP Comerica Park - big, beautiful ballpark, $20 parking 30 feet from the front entrance back then which is a good thing in Detroit Kaufman Stadium - beautiful ballpark, about 27 people there to see them play the Tigers. Miller Park - Definitely a favorite, been to maybe 20 games up there including a few walkoffs and a game that ended with Geoff Jenkins getting thrown out at 3rd on a ball hit into the left field corner. HHH Metrodome - ick PNC Park - best ballpark I've been to, I can't imagine another stadium being more beautiful Old Busch Stadium - 130 degrees, if it weren't for the lemonade I would have melted. Got to see Eric Gagne in his prime steroid years, stood over him while he warmed up. Skydome - CRAMPED, the seats are like a foot wide. Tim Wakefield didn't throw a ball over 65 MPH that day, game culminated with an Eric Hinske walkoff Tuscon Electric Park - some of the most fun I've ever had watching baseball
  18. Top of the 5th: Konerko BB, Betemit out, Kroeger out, Viciedo out Carrasco in to pitch the bottom of the 5th.
  19. Egbert is probably done for the day: 2 IP, 2H, 0ER, 0R, 0BB, 1K
  20. So according to Cowley Viciedo booted a ball at 3rd that should have been ruled an error but was instead a single. Who knows what actually happened.
  21. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 02:21 PM) Where are you seeing the updates? Mlb.com's box score hasn't shown anything yet. Twitter
