2006 Soxtalk Fantasy Baseball
QUOTE(valponick @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 04:10 AM) I guess in this case it was more of an etiquette issue, it was definitely a "noob" type of move and I had not seen it before it any league I had EVER been in. If that is how people here play, then I it is definitely good to know so I can adapt. No worries with your comment, honesty is always appreciated. I've been playing fantasy baseball for the past 5 years in about 4 leagues per year so I'm definately not a noob. The league allowed that sort of thing so I did it, it may have come off as a sophomoric type stunt but I have had it done to me in the past in a few different leagues that didn't have strict rules. It doesn't really matter though, it's in the past now.

Abreu for buehrle?
I'm starting to get a weird vibe off this thread it feels a bit like this.
- Futurama

Abreu for buehrle?
Who exactly is this "Buehrle" character?
-
Futurama
I'm pretty sure what they're creating right now are direct-to-DVD movies of Futurama, not new episodes. Since Futurama became so big on Adult Swim and the DVD sales were so large that David X. Cohen and Groening decided to bring the show back with 4 new movies that will be released on DVD.

Sox Pride
QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) I said "even Butters" because Cartman reminds me of every asshole Cub's fan I've ever met. Cartman is smarter than any Cubs fan you have ever met as well. Any guy that can trick a dickhead like Scott Tenorman into eating his own parents is ok in my book.

Sox Pride
QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) I'm not sure if Cartman is the guy I want representing Sox Fans. I'd prefer Kyle, Chef, or even Butters. So you'd want Butters, the little b**** who is constantly torchered and humiliated. Who's dad is a closet homosexual and who's mother once tried to drown him in a lake and then blamed the whole thing on some Puerto Rican guy to be the representative of the Chicago White Sox Baseball Franchise? f*** that, give me the fat, foul mouthed, racist Eric Cartman.

2006 Soxtalk Fantasy Baseball
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) Well next time log on to your computer faster because honestly, there's a bunch of people who do that on Yahoo and I've been on the "bad" side of that. Plus all the rules are set once the league is set. You really can't complain about something you didn't think of and someone else did. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but I'm just saying the facts. Ha, you said exactly what I was gonna say. Everything I did was perfectly within the confines of the rules. Just to add, "Bush League" is the most overused phrase in all of sports it has no meaning anymore.

Major League Baseball 2K6
I refuse to buy a sports game simply because it's the only one out there, if I want to play an MLB video game I'll update my rosters on MVP 05 and play that. 2K will never get my money.

Re-sign Contreras, trade Vazquez mid-season
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Everytime I see people argue that wins can be used as an indicator of a pitcher's talent, I think of Shawn Estes's 2004 season... 15-8 record 5.84 ERA pfft, that was while pitching half his games at Coors field. Now that very same year I can think of a certain starting pitcher who pitched half his games at a notorious pithchers park in Oakland Mark Mulder (2004): 17-8 4.43 ERA, 1.36 WHIP

White Sox Spring Training quick hits
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) Dye has a sparkling average of .230 for his career hitting fifth. Remember when a ton of people hated him in April of this past year? I remember a certain poster calling him "Jermaine Die" but he was banned long ago . . . or was he?

2006 Soxtalk Fantasy Baseball
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) I really don't think that will be necessary. I'm not even sure the guy is still around. I think there was another dissenter, but I can't remember who it was. Yes, there was another, it didn't really bother me so much that Latino Heat was upset. It was more that the other guy felt the need to put his two cents in when it didn't even affect him. Damn I know how to hold a grudge.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) You were in my league? I don't remember that. 1 and 2 were Latino Heat and Kalapse, so you didn't do THAT well. You beat me, but that wasn't saying much in that league. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle our league yet. We only had a 10 man league, and there was some turmoil towards the end of the year. I get the feeling we're going to disband it and fill in the other leagues as necessary. I suppose we could just fill in the spots for those that had issues with our league too though. We'll see. To send a message, I request that I be put in league 5. This way if people have a problem with me they can request to be put in another league and avoid me and my cheating ways.

QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Totally forgot about rocko's modern life. That was an awesome show. Honestly, nick should have a line of DVD's out for our generation, they're sitting on a gold mine. Seriously though, how many times has this exact line been posted on Soxtalk? There is a clammering, Nickelodeon must act.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) I'll be back for league 1. If you need me to commish again as well, I will. I had no idea that Zoom and Kalapse had issues with the league I did. It wasn't your league it was League #5.

2006 Soxtalk Fantasy Baseball
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Personally, I don't blame you, and I don't know why that was such a big deal. You guys were just lucky I had so many injured/underacheiving starters on that team. I thought I was going to dominate when my first three picks were A-Rod, Cabrera, and Texeira. The thing that pissed me off was that I nearly won that damn league, I won the regular season and was in first after the first week of the playoffs. Then people started b****ing (people that weren't affected) and I felt like I had wasted months working on that team.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) I ran league 5 last year and was a member of keeper 2 (get moving Badger! ). I was in another league too, I think it was #2 (Knightni ran it). I'd definitely run a league again, although I'm not sure how many of the guys from my league last year want to stay in that one. I wonder why? :rolly
