  1. QUOTE(TheDudeAbides @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) damn, i'd have loved to get that AJ walkoff I do believe that was a WGN game.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Agreed, Dye's contract is awesome. But are you just worried about Abreu's second half numbers or do you think he may have been on the juice? Just curious. I'm not one to point fingers at players when it comes to steroids unless I have some serious info to back it up so in Abreu's case I'll chalk it up to a down second half. I'm not going to rule out roids but I just think he got real old real fast at the age of 31. Only 6 HRs in the second half from a guy who it 18 in the first is about as suspicious as it gets.
  3. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) I WAS AT THE DYE GAME!!! WHOOOO As was I.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Is that still a station? Honestly, what is their point in the chicago market now a days, I don't see how anyone could watch that station at all anymore. All they pretty much do is run the Best Damn Sports Show Period 24 hours a day, it's a waste of airtime.
  5. I'd honestly rather have Dye than Abreu, money alone makes Dye incredibly valuable seeing how he's not making s*** and yet he's put up some damn good numbers last year. Abreu really does scare me, his second half last year was so horrid that I really don't think JC and JD are worth giving up for him even if we do recieve Gavin Floyd in return (sadly he's one prospect that I'm not high on at all.)
  6. QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) I know they got an up and close look at him while he was bad with the yanks, so maybe thats all they remember......maybe its like the Cubs trading kerry wood to seattle and he has one awesome second half and then we were in dire need of a pitcher and his name kept coming up, im sure most of us wouldnt want kerry wood either. but it still dosent change the fact that jose isnt going to be traded unless we get reyes,milledge or wright for him. Then he's not going to the mets because 2 of the 3 you just mentioned are untouchable (Wright is beyond untouchable) and Milledge will not be comming here for a 50 year old Contreras who's contract is up.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 04:45 AM) http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/sports/20060127TDY24004.htm Wasn't there a poster here that was really pissed when we let Shingo go? And has any pitcher fizzled out as quickly as Shingo after a great season? I believe that poster was Kyle Orton.
  8. This league has really become the substitute for the last failed Soxtalk OOTP league with the major difference being this league is run by a Cubs fan where as the other was run by an Indians fan.
  9. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Anyone catch the Jim Gaffigan special on Comedy Central? They had a shot of me in the audience wearing my sox cap. During the hot pocket bit. Old school sox logo, white cap? Also, f***ing awesome special by Gaffigan one of the best I've seen in sometime. Who knew a 5 minute Hot Pocket routine could be so funny?
  10. Appearantly a lot of you don't remember the beginning of last year when Konerko hit .218 in April and .227 in May and a lot of us on this board were looking for other options at 1B.
  11. QUOTE(Jake @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Too hard to understand what Ozzie is saying for him to be on radio. It's not hard to understand if you actually listen. I've never understood why people hae such a hard time making out what he says. I can understand him just fine.
  12. New BA >>> Old BA it's as simple as that.
  13. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) IMO the best deal would be Carlos Beltran and some pitching prospect for Count straight up... '06 - $12M '07 - $12M + $2M signing bonus '08 - $18.5M '09 - $18.5M '10 - $18.5M '11 - $18.5M + FULL NO TRADE CLAUSE
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) I don't think either trade happens. I think KW was quoted as saying that he isn't looking to trade Count and that he wouldn't take a position player back for him. Yes, you should always believe what KW says.
  15. Well, it did sell out months ago so no, no I wasn't surprised.
  16. I do believe Gload is your insurance policy for Thome. How dare you even mention Sosa's name, the Nats wouldn't give him up for anything.
  17. I played maybe 6 games online a few months ago and found it to be boring as hell, the s*** that people pull is ridiculous. It completely takes away from the fun of the game, so people play like b****es so they can what? Have good online stats? What the hell is that? Now the real online gaming for the PS2 is SOCOM, II or III preferably II. It's not really even close.
  18. I must say the Japanesebaseball forums are a great place to find information on any player who has played in Japan. It's how I kept up on Steve Cox' status until I bored with him and quit.
  19. I agree, Mark Buehrle is quite vital to the success of this ballclub.
