QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) Who would have that that my Raiders would be alone in 1st place in the AFC West after week 5? probably Al Davis as warped as his mind is.

2005......great times.

Joe Torre?
I'd love to have Torre, but on the flip side it'd be interesting to see how he does with a team half the salary or less as the Yankees. But if he gets fired I'm thinking he's done wtih managing, at least for a year or two.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) Can someone tell me when this happened in relation to the Thome trade? Would we have had anyone to play CF if we traded Anderson? could've had Mackowiak out there consider he played out there just as much as Anderson. Either way, CF was bad in 2006.

Yanks vs. Indians
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) It was obvious it was a change-up, but that pitch was weak. Actually Hafner would have made the adjustment anyway. He knew one or the other was comming. He's just happy he stayed back on it. yeah i thought he should've thrown the fast ball.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) I'm not sure how anybody ever hits either of Cleveland's Rafael's (Perez or Betancourt). Just nasty stuff, wow. Random, but for some reason I think Casey Blake will be the hero this half inning. I wouldn't mind the Iowa native being the hero.

Yanks vs. Indians
yeah he's not doing much to change his reputation in the post-season.

Pirates fire Tracy
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) You know one thing I can never figure out about teams like the Pirates, Royals, etc. Do they really think the manager is the problem? And that simply changing the manager every 2 years is going to turn things around? I really wonder if there isn't something to be said in stability of a system. Even if you don't have the Yankee roster, at least your guys know what to expect when they come into a season, and your rookies and so on don't have to learn from an entirely new set of coaches every 2 years. Yeah switching managers every couple of hears is just going to hurt these teams. Players finally get used to a system and then it's totally changed. Plus players could start to think that they're either going to be gone or the managers will be leaving soon, so why buy into a new program.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 05:44 PM) I'd like to see Drake make it into the FCS playoffs. UNI has a habit of choking, but it turns out that their win against ISU might not have been over the worst BCS team ever ever. Yeah UNI does, which is why I don't want them to be ranked #1 in some of the polls. I could see them losing to Southern Illinois next weekend on homecoming.

Red Sox / Angels
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) The Angels are up against the wall, but I think everyone pretty much expected them to lose game 1. They were hit with a rash string of injuries late in the season and I doubt they will be overcome them. Escobar is gonna have to throw out his A game tonight because if they can pull this out I do think they will win Sunday's game at home against the BoSox (Weaver vs DiceK) and be in a nice shape knowing that they could afford a second loss to Beckett. Yeah, looks like I'm either clueless, are the kiss of death for teams. I picked the Angels, Yankees, Cubs, and Phillies moving on. I didn't know all the injury problems the Angels had and I wanted to pick the Rockies but I didn't. I just figured the Yankees would be the Wild Card team that made it to the World Series this year.
