  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) I don't see Mariotti as being a bandwagon jumper right now. I see him now as reporting the truth about what is happening to this team. He may be wrong about moves to have been made, but you can't deny a slide that has been happening since the All-Star break. Heck, right before the break we got our asses kicked. Idk, I guess it's hard to say, but he's going halfway so he'll turn out right no matter what. I still think he's going for the Sox though.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 07:13 AM) If Mariotti was a political columnist, he'd go from ultra-conservatitive to extreme leftist and back again within a week. Yeah he would, he started off by saying this season was a fluke, then got on the bandwagon, and is now starting to pull off again. It's just what Mariotti does, it doesn't bother me too much.
  3. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) I'm thinking with foreplay you'd probably notice it *hinthint*. And to be honest, I can't think of any woman who is paranoid enough to stick a ring of burs up her cooter. haha yeah that's true, but you never know, some people like to jump the gun and wouldn't even think about it.
  4. I don't know about this idea, I'm a guy so obviously I'd be worried. I'd never want to rape someone, but what would happen if the girl wanted it, and put that thing in so the guy gets spiked anyways. I know it's highly unlikely, but it still could happen.
  5. Should we give them the title already?? They're gonna be good. If Finley gets along with the team, which I'm pretty sure he will, they're already gonna be the favorites to win it again.
  6. All I can say is it's amazing what Mother Nature can do to civilization......Making our country look like a 3rd world country with everything being destroyed and food needed and all the stealing going on. I wish I could do down there and help, but I'm a college student.
  7. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) It never will be again. Anything they throw up to replace the living history of the old parts of the city will be essentially a pale, 'Disney-fied' imitation of what's been lost. I'm trying to be optimistic about the outcome, but I've seen too much of the city's buildings and infrastructure up close to have much faith in its coming through total submergence in anything resembling an intact or salvagable form. I gotta agree with you there. The old buildings in the French Quarter is what makes New Orleans a big tourist attraction. Replacing thes buildings will mean that fewer tourists will come.
  8. I've only been to one White Sox game so that means, no I haven't.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Don't be fooled, this guy is a rat. What's his hidden agenda? haha true. He'll want something in return I'm sure.
  10. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) and Venezuela offers fuel, food to hurricane-hit US CARACAS (AFP) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez offered to send food and fuel to the United States after the powerful Hurricane Katrina pummeled the US south, ravaging US crude production. The leftist leader, a frequent critic of the United States and a target himself of US disapproval, said Venezuela could send aid workers with drinking water, food and fuel to US communities hit by the hurricane. "We place at the disposition of the people of the United States in the event of shortages -- we have drinking water, food, we can provide fuel," Chavez told reporters. Chavez said fuel could be sent to the United States via a Citgo refinery that has not been affected by the hurricane. Citgo is owned by Venezuela's state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). In the Gulf of Mexico, which accounts for a quarter of total US oil output, 92 percent of crude and 83 percent of natural gas production were shut down due to Hurricane Katrina, which slammed Louisiana and Mississippi, according to US government data. Venezuela is the fourth-largest provider of oil to the United States, supplying some 1.5 million barrels a day. Last week, Chavez offered discount gasoline to poor Americans suffering from high oil prices and on Sunday offered free eye surgery for Americans without access to health care. I am so happy to hear that another country is offering to help us. We're always supposed to help out whoever, but when it comes to us needing help, not many if any are willing to. (Besides Britian)
  11. This actually surprised me. I don't know if he'll be able to pick up somewhere else or not.
  12. Yep, the Indians won't win the division. It'll be the Sox winning it.
  13. Yes, I want a 6 man rotation so I have a chance to see McCarthy or Buerhle in the Metrodome. Right now it'd be Conteras.
  14. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) How about the team hits better when Frank was in the clubhouse tonight? Yeah he just brings more confidence in the team's hitting I think.
  15. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) It will be disgusting if they make the playoffs. I'm so sick of them and the way they do business. I know they play by the rules, but no team should be allowed to take a flyer on every veteran player that becomes available. Baseball is just crying out for some form of salary cap. The current system is a joke. Oh they'll make it, don't worry. Actually it'll be just the Yankees being the Yankees, they're built for the playoffs. As much as I don't want to see them get in, they're on a role right now and it's hard to argue against them.
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) For the naysayers of anything Frank, was it coincidence that the offense hit better as a whole when Frank was playing this summer? I also don't think it was a coincidence. He does add a special presence to the lineup. I just don't want to see an injured Frank Thomas trying to come back and ending up hurting himself even more, and the team.
  17. I was pretty much realizing this anyways. Only a day left, nothing is gonna happen.
  18. Yes I would also love to see Frank be up here, but only if it's going to help the team. I want to see Frank come back, but not just to go 1-12 in a series.
  19. way to come back after that loss in game one. I thought we should've won that one, but I'll take a 1-1 record for the double header.
  20. Great win, Cleveland is still 7 games behind but the Magic number cut by one tonight.
  21. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) wow, mark buehrle got tossed for less than that. UTTER BULLs*** THAT HE DOESN'T GET TOSSED! OBVIOUS RETALIATION FOR THE HOMERUNS. that's what I was wondering. But MB shouldn't have been tossed, so I don't see a need for tossing him even though it was dirty.
  22. Great Job Brandon McCarthy!! Now it's time for the other young pitcher Bobby Jenks to come in and finish it out.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) Can we trade Young, Sweeney, and Gio for Teixeira? I absolutely love his overall game. Teixeira is starting to be one of my favorite players, I wish I had his rookie card.
