Wow that Joe Webb chuck the ball straight in the air was about as dumb as you can see. He was lucky that wasn't picked. -
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) Nope, the world doesn't revolve around NY and NJ, but when Katrina and Joplin victims got money immediately and we're still waiting? That's a little messed up. You don't think so? Or is this what we get for being blue states? So it would be okay if we passed the following bill because the front cover of it read Aid and Sandy. Resolution for Quick and Immediate Aid for the Victims of Superstorm Sandy Article 1. ) 75 million in aid to X. Article 2.) 100 million in aid to Y. Addendum 7083d.) 4 F-35 Jets for overwatch. Because here is some of the pork that was part of the bill... •$2 million to repair damage to the roofs of museums in Washington, D.C., while many in Hurricane Sandy’s path still have no roof over their own heads. •$150 million for fisheries as far away from the storm’s path as Alaska. •$125 million for the Department of Agriculture’s Emergency Watershed Protection program, which helps restore watersheds damaged by wildfires and drought. •$20 million for a nationwide Water Resources Priorities Study. •$15 million for NASA facilities, though NASA itself has called its damage from the hurricane ‘minimal.’ •$50 million in subsidies for tree planting on private properties. •$336 million for taxpayer-supported AMTRAK without any detailed plan for how the money will be spent. •$5.3 billion for the Army Corps of Engineers – more than the Corps’ annual budget – with no statement of priorities about how to spend the money. •$12.9 billion for future disaster mitigation activities and studies, without identifying a single way to pay for it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 08:26 PM) I think Tex should take his beliefs in the debt ceiling to heart. He should go to the most expensive restaurant in the area, have their most expensive meal. When the check comes, kindly inform the waiter that he has passed legislation mandating he cannot pay more than $10 on a meal, and hand him $10. So pretend likes its Obamacare when the bill gets sent from the medical institution.

Just chilling out at home. Steaks on the grill. A nice bottle of wine to match. Kiddy cocktails for the kids.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) I dont know, which is why I am asking. It seems that Lovie has had very little say in personnel, I could be wrong obviously. And to be clear I dont think Emery purposefully set up Lovie, but I also dont think he went out of his way to make sure the Bears had the best chance at winning this year. There is no way you can convince me that McClellin (1st round) and Hardin (3rd Round) were the best choices for the Bears to win this year, especially when the Bears did nothing for the OL. Well if Emery decides to move from a 4-3 to a 3-4 does getting McClellin make more sense. I would of rather had an OL, but that was the thought behind McClellin is he would fit more in a 3-4. In the short term he would be used like the typical 3rd down rusher that Lovie has used before. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Well the premise of my argument was can anyone name a longer tenured coach than Lovie Smith who had less ability to make personnel decisions. I think that the Emery/Smith situation was an aberration. Generally the GM hires the Coach, so the GM and Coach are on the same page from day 1. In this case you had a GM who was hired with a coach in place and told he cant fire the coach for 1 year. Thus if Emery didnt like Smith, he had every reason to screw Lovie so he could get rid of him. If Lovie makes the playoffs can they fire him? I doubt it. And since Emery seems to have wanted to fire Lovie, I cant help but wonder if last years draft wasnt a set up. Emery drafted guys that werent even healthy, how does that help a team that wants to win a Division Title? -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 01:04 PM) Never blame the head coach for a team not finding the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years, thats just silly Mike Tice must of promoted himself to OC. Mike Martz also hired himself. Babich hired himself as well. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) I think just about everyone knows Tice will be canned. Lovie has maybe a 40-50% chance of getting fired IMO. If the Bears were run as a football franchise then Lovie would be out of a job. We however have a family run business that empowered the CFO to make football decisions. We hired Emery last year and remember the thoughts, Lovie had the power. I wouldn't be shocked if Emery is forced to keep Lovie. -

The new kickoff rules pretty much eliminated Hesters value on kickoff returns. -

We need a nice long drive with a TD at the end of it. People need to catch the ball, stay in bounds and chew up the clock. -

The moron factor of stupid penalties at critical moments continues. You hit a sliding qb in the head? Why? -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 27, 2012 -> 10:35 AM) Does this happen with Google's Gmail app for Android? I've never noticed since I've always had a custom signature. Pretty much most of the mobile devices tag by default. They usually do it for one of two if not both reasons. 1.) Shameless plug of their tech. 2.) Built-in excuse when the person has typos in their email. Predictive text and fat fingers make a serious amount of typos in mobile based email. This is fine when you are texting, but not as excused in corporate email. Hence the, forgive my lack of correct syntax I am using X mobile device.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Our offensive coordinators are f***ing ridiculous. Let's just let Jay call the plays. All year long its been difficult to get plays in. High school and college teams can signal in plays but for Tice. It's confusing. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) New GM will want his own guy.....................bring on Cowher! Mike Tice for blasting Martz offense is ranked just as bad even with Marshall clean house! Time to get an OL. Not just random fat guys who get confused when people throw different looks. We can't run, we can't pass protect. No more undersides DEs or members of the Albiliene Christian alumni. -
As a republican I do not see any reason a normal citizen needs or should possess a semi automatic assault weapon. I can safely say that I am for a ban tomorrow on that class of weapon. With that being said bad guys will still get their hands on these types of weapons. Your local gang banger does not go to the local gun store with his foid card and buy a weapon. This will not eliminate gun violence and with Chicago as the example for restrictive gun laws it barely makes a dent. Pandora's box is open. I remember watching people coming into a courthouse seeing the metal detectors and throwing their contraband into the bushes. Drugs and weapons only to attempt to retrieve them later. There are lots of issues at play here. The family dynamics have changed. Parents want to be buddies with their children instead of parents. We don't take the time to invest in the family and it does cause issues with the final product. We spent quite a bit of time of delaying the fact that their on consequences to actions. Everyone is a winner and then later on in development we shock their system with consequences. We have no idea on what to do as a society with the mentally ill. We medicate, and unfortunately medication of any kind is a foreign substance with side effects that people don't want to go through. So they go off the wagon. And then we wait until there is an episode to re-act. How many parents have conversations with their kids to say. "that was a movie, those are actors and they will go home tonight after that shooting scene. In real life when a person gets killed you take them away and anything or everything that they would be. This is a video game. Those are pixels and memory on a computing system. When the person gets killed on the game the memory is reallocated and no one gets hurt because its video games. Itell my son everyday there is no reason for him to fight. We live in a "civilized" society. To be nice to everyone. To fight only as a complete last resort to protect yourself or your family. Sorry for the ramble but there isn't one answer here. We need to take steps to address the multiple factors at play here.

As a father of two small children my heart is broken thinking of what those parents are going through. My children are my world they are innocence personified just as all children are. Anyone who raises a hand or harms a child is a evil in the flesh. May the children rest in peace. The news organizations are providing me with a level of disgust. This is news. I understand that. Asking a small child interview questions on this type of crime is a joke. If a parent wants to step up and report what their child says that's one thing. Seeing a 8 year old getting prodded by a news reporter, So did you see the bullets, did you hear anything. The tabloid media salivates over our misery and I for one am disgusted. The kids have been through enough.

Bought a 42 inch 1080p LCD for 180 bucks on Amazon. I am going to use it as a monitor for my home office. Bought a new 256Gig SSD drive. As far as I am concerned my Black Friday was a success.

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 08:48 PM) Honestly -- can you discern a difference in play calling between Martz and Tice? You mean snap the ball, every OL step to the left and allow the DL to crush the QB. Is that really a play call. -

You see most of the time when Cutler is on his ass or running for his life the analyst are too busy talking about pouting Jay. The line is and has been a problem. This arrogance of well coach tice can make any line work is horses***. Draft and spend money on an OL. Not just slow fat guys who are not all that quick on the uptake.
