  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 11:38 PM) If the Sox keep hitting in Detroit, I'll be amazed and happy. Isn't it a hitter's nightmare of a park? Keep it up, Swish! Actually its the direct opposite. We play at Comerica like its a home away from home. We hit and pitch well there.
  2. Farmer " Stoney, do you think about sending the runners here" Stone "If I did I would get a bat and hit myself in the head and think again"
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) Danks isnt even pitching bad. The twins are picking away and the ump has squeezed him so far. Our offense needs to pick him up. Amazing how spoiled we are with our pitching.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) seems to me carlos is getting a bit over aggressive at the plate lately The only change I have see so far is he seemed to have backed off the plate a bit more. He used to be right on top of the plate.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 02:32 PM) What a horrible, horrible decision to face Cuddyer with an open base and a lefty up next. Danks needs to learn how to get himself out of some of these jams. You can't play matchup all the time. The other think Quentin needs to work on his throws. His arm is strong, its making the right decision on which base to throw to.
  6. Snow Leopard 10.6 all intel, all Cocoa sounds good to me. Should be fast.
  7. They need to keep this up. The more distance we can put between the sox and the rest of the AL Central the better. Its a nice cushion for later.
  8. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) This offense has gone from one of the worst in baseball to perhaps the best in the past week....all because of one Ozzie outburst! If that had anything to do with it, it was more about losing their buddy than Ozzie yelling.
  9. I am upset because Swish and Cabrera started that hand slappy, handshake celebration in the dugout like he did in Oakland and the damn camera crew pulled away. Dammit
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) Xbox blows. This b**** is strickly PS3. Well played.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 12:40 PM) Have you heard of reading the post before replying? I missed the spinning of Konerko as I glanced over your xbox trade. Sorry for the inconvenience. Carry on.
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 11:36 AM) We just really need to see Thome or Konerko go. I also would not mind seeing Thome traded for a CF. Move Dye to DH, move Swisher to LF, Q to RF (with his cannon arm), and slot in that new CF. Or Thome for a 2B. Again Dye to DH, Swish to LF, Q to RF, Alexei to CF. Joe, People are not going to fork over good talent for guys who have underperformed, are older than 31, and have large amounts of money due to them. They are here, hope they hit well for the rest of the season.
  13. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) I really feel we need to dump Konerko off on someone, and we need a CF if we can do that. I hope Konerko starts to heat up a little bit, and then we can trade him to a team for a few prospects. Then we can spin a couple of those prospects and maybe 1 or 2 of our own to the Reds for Ken Griffey Jr. I know the Reds are looking to trade Griffey, and it would be nice to get him. Our lineup potentially 1) Cabrera 2) AJ 3) Q 4) Griffey 5) Thome 6) Dye 7) Crede 8) Swisher 9) Alexei That's a pretty good lineup. Another idea would be to trade Konerko for prospects, and then use those to try and net someone to play 2B, and move Alexei to CF. Ryan Freel maybe. Have you heard of Joey Votto, the current Reds first baseman. The guy hitting .282 with 10 homers. Also let me introduce you to Alonso, their number 1 draft pick who also plays first. So why exactly would Konkero make sense for them. Plus I dont want Griffey. He would most likely break something in CF and would be worthless to us.
  14. Congrats man. You can find all sorts of Whitesox gear for the new half heighter in your life at Walmart as well.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) Hell, I'd give it to him. We need to rebuild our minors. Jordan Danks and Gordon Beckham would be a nice start to rebuilding our minors.
  16. Dotel pitches up in the zone very well. I wish Bobby would learn how to use the high fastball like Dotel on 2 strikes to offset his curve. The only thing I wish Dotel did better is to have better control.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) Does it look like Q backed off the plate a bit? I made that comment last night. Q used to be right up on the plate, covering it up. This move to back up off the plate is dumb. Nothing like tinkering with success. Hey kid, you are hitting good lets make a change so you are susceptible to low and away.
  18. You want go get a good grade in the draft. Beckham Meville and yes throw first round money at him, you dont have a 2nd rounder anyway. Danks Then you can draft the rest in your order, they will all still be there.
  19. So we drafted Carrie Schuler over Jordan Danks. That makes sense. Different people making the same s***ty decisions. At least we didnt draft Reigers nephew and godson at 8.
  20. I thought we fired the last scouting regime. These are examples of high risk, better draftees. Yikes.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) Now I dont watch or follow a ton of College baseball, what is the significance of being a "friday night" pitcher vs a saturday night pitcher Friday I believe is when you face the top lineups. Its the premier matchup.
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) he was the #2 prospect in a weak pennslyvannia draft class according to baseballamerica, but he didnt make their top 200 overall Sound a lot like Long from a previous draft.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) Obviously we're drafting someone with low demands in the third round to pick up and afford Melville in the fourth...right? Considering we drafted no one in the 2nd round, I thought we could go overslot in the 3rd.
