    $1,000,000. Good. No.
  2. This is why the addition of a real fifth starter and a revamped bullpen is so crucial to an injury-free pitching staff. The bullpen no longer needs to be overworked every fifth day, and consequently our starters won't need to be left in games so long anymore with more fresh arms in the pen. It's the circle of life.

Willie's splits when batting 9th: .282/.364/.436/.800 Too much was expected of Harris last season. Next season he should stay at the bottom of the order.
  4. That contract is disgusting.

You said if the Sox were relying on Harris to do anything, then the playoffs are a pipedream. That's a rediculous thing to say. Against right-handed pitching he is a respectable major league hitter. A .277 average with an on-base percentage of .366 isn't anything to scoff at. His defense is above average for sure. The Sox are expecting him to learn from his first full season in the majors, and to hopefully give us quality at-bats from the 9 hole with continued success defensively. We could make it to the postseason even if Willie regressed next year.

I said we should sign Grudz a month ago. I was most fond of AJ to fill a hole, but since that isn't happening I'd like Grudz if we go for middle infield help.

    You sir, are absurd.

Pierzynski over Davis has such a greater benefit than Cora/Cairo over Harris. I really wish KW would reconsider.
  9. Buehrle - 17 Garcia - 17 Garland - 16 Contreras - 14 Hernandez - 9
  10. Hahahaha, no way in hell I'm wearing a nametag.

This board definitely needs a welcome wagon.

She should start the car at least once a week and let it run for about 10 minutes.
  13. After watching Super Size Me I vowed never to eat fast food or drink soda again.
  14. I don't think we should factor losing Maggs as a con to this offseason. We made him a very fair offer that he didn't accept, and we went out knowing he wouldn't be back. Out of our hands, unless you invoke overpaying. We're also losing Valentin to free agency, but I don't think anyone here will complain about that. So let's not count the loss of Maggs, Valentin, and the Super Alomar Bros against KW. We lose: Carlos Lee We gain: Dustin Hermanson Jermaine Dye Scott Podsednik Luis Vizcaino Orlando 'El Duque' Hernandez If we get 2B help, it's just that much better. I don't know how anyone could consider this offseason anything less than good on a scale of 1 to awesome.
  15. I'll take Hernandez at $4 million over Clement at $8+ million.
  16. Lets postpone this a while longer.
  17. You were praising Matt Clement as our savior. I don't see how he isn't a question mark either.

Yeah, I just really like Gload.

    1. Podsednik - LF 2. Eckstein - 2B 3. Rowand - CF 4. Konerko - DH 5. Dye - RF 6. Gload - 1B 7. Uribe - SS 8. Crede - 3B 9. Davis - C This is the lineup I want. I don't think the Big Hurt will be ready opening day. When a healthy Frank is in there, I absolutely love that lineup.
  20. That place is a total ripoff.
  21. For the sake of the entire staff's arms, if we signed El Duque, I wouldn't skip the 5th starter spot if we didn't play five games in a row. Whether it's El Duque, Contreras, Garland, whoever. I'd always run through five, unless it's a extenuating circumstance. Your thoughts?
  22. Unbelievable. Home - Konerko homers once every 9.59 at-bats. Away - Konerko homers once every 23.75 at-bats.
