If I was the Comish... Both leagues should play under the same rules. I don't really care if the DH is used or not, as long as both leagues do the same thing. I also think all the playing dimensions at every ball park should be the same. There shouldn't be a frickin one hundred foot difference from home plate to CF from one park to the other, or a Green Monster, or a bubble, or a pole sticking otta the ground in CF, or dome lights...........

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) Thats why I always have something similar to this in my driver side door. You never know when some moron is going to try to pull something when you are out there. Someone told me those are illegal to carry unless you're in law enforcement? I'd try to avoid any confrontation altogether, but I'm with you, if it comes down to it, I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) Yeah, Italy IMO will definitely beat the Czechs.....however I'm 50/50 at best on the U.S. beating Ghana. Goal differential is the tiebreaker then, in which case the U.S. is screwed. Italy and the U.S. both have to win pretty much if the U.S. is to advance. Got it, thx. I just realized Spain in a soft group. Let's see how they do in round two. -

Help. If the US beats Ghana and the Czechs and Italy tie, won't the US and the Czechs each have 4 points?? Then what? -
Let's assume the story is true. Signed waiver or not, if the store can see that the guy's state was 'other than normal' and still loads all that crap onto his car, I bet they'd still be liable.
-
I was listening in the car and two seconds before Jon hit it, Farmer was talking about how good a hitter Jon was in H.S and said that he is very capable of going yard. How s***ty do you feel when an AL pitcher goes yard on you??

*sigh* I wish life would stay that uncomplicated. Cute kid.

The fact that he can play 1st base well doesn't make me want to put him there more often or even once ina while.

It'll be a joke if the U.S. pulls this game out of it's ass. See ya Pope. -

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Looks and sounds like a home game in there, especially with all of the "Ole!"...fun stuff, I'm impressed... Too many missed goals though. That is always the criticism against Mexico on the big stage, they don't have enough finishers. Defensively, they play well and they can be creative on offense, but simply can't put the ball in the net. Mexico blew it, Angola was the team for them to beat. The next macth against Portugal will be tougher for them and now they have to at least tie, not an easy task. -
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) I'm performing (guitar/singing) live in front of an audience for the first time ever tonight. It's just an open mike night and I'm still nervous. I'll be performing under the pseudonym of "Stereo Mic" 2 shots, 30 mins. prior and you'll be aaight.

Did Mexico/Angola start yet? -
I feel bad for the guy's family and certainly he shouldn't have been murdered over it, but this is never a good idea: "The incident began when Sandoval's sport-utility vehicle and the suspects' sedan cut each other off at the intersection of Pulaski Road and Lawerence Avenue, Gorris said. The cars then began to "play bumper tag" as they headed northbound on Pulaski Road, which becomes Crawford Avenue in Lincolnwood." I'll say it again, you never know who you're f***in' with. :headshake

You guys make a good point about the real power houses getting off to a slow start. The Brazilians have always done this, watch them turn it up a notch in the next rounds. As for Ecuador, nice story and it's been a lot of fun, but I also think it ends in the next round. Overall, it would be great for the sport to see some of these other countries making some noise instead of it always being Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Italy cup after cup after cup. -
I saw this on the news last night. There was also another crazy story about a few guys going into the kitchen of a restaurant and killing a guy who worked there.

Score of the England game? Does anyone have a video link to Kaviedes running around with the mask on after he scored? -
QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) Heres a quick tidbit I thought Id share with everyone. Late afternoon on Saturday, we were driving on the Ryan northbound just past 31st, when to my right, I happened to look over to a guy on my right passing and when I couldve swore I saw a WS Ring on the guys hand (on the steering wheel). Sped up a bit and took a look at the guy, who now took a quick glance to his left, and it was Jermaine Dye! I laughed and gave him the thumbs up, he smiled. I happened to be wearing my SOX jacket, so I pointed to it and he gave us an even bigger smile and nodded his head. Thought that was pretty funny ........ what kind of car was he driving?

Ecuador is sitting pretty. Although the next match against Germany will mean very little in the standings, it will be HUUUUUUGE in terms of gaining experience against a powerhouse on a big stage. Something they can carry and use in the next round. -
