  1. Do warnings carry over from game to game? If not, we have to start throwing at people first.
  2. My Dad is from Ecuador and probably hasn't slept since the 2-0 victory over Poland. Ecuador is leading Costa Rica 1-0 in probably the biggest match in Ecuador's history. If they advance to the next round, that country will party like never before. Vamos carajo, vamos!!!
  3. Man, some of you guys have little confidecne in this team. I hope they light it up tonight. GO SOX!!
  4. Tip for those of you entering the "real business world" soon. The two MOST important pieces of infomation on a voice message are your name and your phone number. I can't tell you how many times people either forget to leave a phone number, or speed through their message so quickly that I'm unable to pick up either one. *sigh* There I feel better.
  5. I'm gonna go nuts here and say GO SOX sweep the Reds!!
  6. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:20 AM) They need to get their act together and play some non-Lollapalooza chicago shows, damnit! Not sure if its been mentioned, but if you like Wilco check out Tweedy's side project "Loose Fur" They've been here a few times fairly recently and played some smaller venues.
  7. QUOTE(NYSox35 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) I just thought I'd start a thread to see what everyone thinks about the upcoming schedule... This was brought on by the top two threads being about angled seats and putting pablo in the rotation (Not that there's anything wrong with that). Anyway, it looks pretty tough. 3 more @ Tex, then @ Cincy - who is surprisingly decent this year, STL & Houston, and then the cubs - who granted, they suck, but always play us tough. STL is without pujols, but they're obviously good. I'm glad we're playing good ball b/c this is definitely not an easy stretch. ....................and then NY and Boston soon after that. I'm excited!
  8. Never Argue with a Woman One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book. Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?" "Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious? ") "You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her. "I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading." "Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up." "If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman. "But I haven't even touched you!" says the game warden. "That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know, you could start at any moment." "Have a nice day ma'am," and he left. MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) I hated it. They missed a ton of comedic opportunity, IMO. JA is not funny, and poor Vince looked like he was bored to death not to be able to cut loose with his wit. Seeing her manerisms during the lemon and dishes scenes gave a little taste of why Brad might have left her.. The writing was weak, it felt like they pulled back on the humor so that the film would be taken seriously, but it didn't do a good job at being a serious film either. It got kinda stuck in the middle....but I liked the ending. They have awkward screen chemistry too.
  10. I can't think of one guy who actually makes me continously lol. There are a few guys who are witty and do satire and kinda make you go hmmmm, but funny, side splitting, gasping for air funny? uh uh, none. I miss Richard Pryor.
  11. I played baseball for the first time in forever on Sunday. I was able to snap off a few good hooks, so of course I got geeked and was throwing it every other pitch. My elbow feels like there's 50 hot needles poking through it. I think I need Tommy John surgery.
  12. Wow, has it come to this?
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) Am I the only one who has trouble sitting through movies? Even in some of my favorite movies of all time (Little Giants and The Sandlot) I have a hard time sitting through it. Maybe I have ADD. Hey look at the stars.. I'm right there with ya, I either fall alseep or zone out for like 15 mins. at a time and when I finally tune back in, I'm completely lost. Then I have to ask my wife what happened, which usually leads to an elbow to the ribcage and a "SHHH!". I'm the guy DVDs were invented for. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 07:47 AM) Kinda an old movie now, but I find myself watching "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" alot these days. I never appreciated it before, but man George Clooney, John Turturro, and Tim Blake Nelson are amazingly perfect counterparts to each other in this movie. If you have never bothered to check it out, I really recommend it. Classic, hilarious stuff.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) According to George Offman he lost most of his teeth and messed up both knees to go along with all the usual facial and head lacerations plus the collapsed lung and broken jaw. HOLY s***, now we're just hoping the guy can have a normal life, football is optional.
  15. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) i think i like summerteeth best...i think its when their songs were most fun plus it has my favorites she's a jar and via chicago...but as an album, yankee hotel foxtrot is quite the experience. Poor places YHF is the only Wilco record I can listen to beginning to end, truly an album.
  16. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) #2. Well then, there ya have it sports fans.
  17. Who is this guy? http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=225139&GT1=7702
  18. Yep, 1st game is critical. Lose and you might as well start packing.
  19. I took some kids to see 'X-Men'. I have no clue what was going on in the film. It didn't help that I nodded off twice. My wife and I watched the first half hour of "In Her Shoes", so far not bad. I think Cameron Diaz is hideous, but if you like her, see this film. They really sexy her up.
  20. QUOTE(Damen @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:40 AM) Because we looked like s*** against them last week? ...and we were at home.
  21. This series makes me nervous, not sure why. I'd be geeked with a split.
