  1. Sending BA down is not only good for the team, but also good for HIM. The kid is embarassing himself out there right now and you never want to see that happen. I know he comes across as fun and confident, but he's still a kid and if left out there too long to rot, he might never come out of it. As someone else said, we might survive a week or two without him. If our pitching solidifies and our O clicks with RISP, we should be ok.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:51 AM) Rodney's actually been much better than Zumaya this season. Still, when you take down Thome and Pauly like that, clearly you are ON.
  3. I know this, I'm not sure why they did, but thank God they yanked Zumaya last night.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) The kid did nothing wrong. After he got Konerko out he pumped his fist. Watch the pre game video at USCF, and you will see Bobby Jenks pump his fist over and over. There's nothing wrong with showing a little emotion. Jenks doesn't show up anyone with his fist pumping, and Zumaya didn't show Paulie up at all. Dennis Eckersley used to point and "shoot" guys when he struck them out and would tell them to go sit down. I think you missed the stare down afterward, at Pauly and the Sox bench. It's not a big deal...yet, like I said, I'd like to see Thome or Pauly jack his ass again and we'll see what his reaction is then.
  5. I like our chances, let's secure a series win tonight and put the icing on that b**** tomorrow. E-X-E-C-U-T-I-O-N on offense.
  6. Something has to be done soon. He is afraid to swing the bat now.
  7. All I can say is WHEW, I'll take it. Great job by B Mac and Bob Jenks. I was really impressed with this Zumaya kid. Great stuff, but kinda Zambrano-ish out there on the hill. I'd like to see Thome or Pauly park one of those 99 mph heaters before the end of this series. In an April meeting with Zumaya, Konerko took him out of the park for his first homer of the year. After that game, Zumaya said Konerko wouldn't get another one off him this season. "Got that one,'' Konerko responded at the time. In the rematch, Zumaya got Konerko to pop out to center field to end the inning, followed by an exuberant fist pump and a couple of stares by the pitcher. "I really wanted to face Konerko because he did get me early in the season,'' Zumaya said. "I was pretty pumped. Whenever a guy gets a good hit off me, I want to face him again. That's my mentality. I want to go after the guy and I want to show him, 'Hey, you beat me once, but I'm going to go after you again.' "It was one of my biggest highs. I got the guy out that I wanted to face.''
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 08:15 AM) Some of their songs like The White Unicorn and Tales from the Forest of Gnomes I could get into really easily, but then others like Apple Tree were pretty bad I thought. So it's a mixed bag. I do like em like I said earlier in the thread, but they could be better, and hopefully their next album shows this. Oh yeah, those guys are Australian.
  9. I think Scott Lucas said it best: "Yeah here's one for the coast The people with the most The pretty, pretty folks The west coast folks And here we go again It's never gonna end We're all so sick of California songs Yeah we know you love L.A. but there's nothin' left to say Please no more California songs ..and f*** New York too."
  10. Hot, humid night=long ball fest at the Cell. We need 'long ball Freddy' to stay his ass at home and we need Sweaty Freddy to be ON his game early. If he can keep them to 1-2 runs through 5, we're fine.

    Aced

Does "Flunked" mean you got a zero? Nope, it means you got a failing grade. Aced means an "A" grade.
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) Hey, I bet we would actually agree on many bands, especially if you like stuff like this. Have you ever heard sHeavy? http://www.sheavy.com/ Total Sabbath, but very cool.
  13. How about Jose "I tweez my eyebrows and dye blonde streaks into my Eric Estrada, push back haircut" Valentin??
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) Brace yourselves! I'm sure it's 'Indie' so it must be cool, just ask bmags
  15. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) 62% evil. Some of them are kind of geared toward a younger crowd though, like killing bugs, setting things on fire, making fun of fat people, making school for someone else a living hell, and making prank phone calls. I answered them based on if I've EVER done those things.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) Wow. Is it wrong that I can't quit laughing about that? Not sure about wrong, but considering your 64 % 'evil score', it's not surprising,
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:22 AM) Just googled it. Here's what came up. http://chicago.citysearch.com/profile/38754618/ I did the same thing. Now that the bar is in a film, I'll be battling with 2000 other people trying to get a beer.
  18. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) Scott Lucas was on Local 101 last night, and he played a cover of some Pink Floyd song. I can't remember what it's called, but it was dreadful. Scott started mimicking their vocal style while he was singing, and the song just limped along at that meandering Pink Floyd pace. No tempo at all, just a really bad choice for a cover IMO. It was brutal. But the rest of the interview/performance was really good. Scott usually picks interesting songs to cover, but that was just not a good fit for him/them. That's right, I forgot he was gonna be on, damn I missed it. Going to see them see them Friday??
  19. 46% which is probably about right. Although I carry myself and am probably perceived as 99% evil, which is how I like it. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Hmm, interesting. You Are 94% Evil You're the most evil person you know. The devil is even a little scared of you! How Evil Are You? http://www.blogthings.com/howevilareyouquiz/ Damn dude.
  20. "I like them a whole bunch. Nice hooks on many songs." Wow, KG and I agree on a band, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Can I change my opinion on them?
  21. It was pretty cool to see 'The Riv' in a film. Where is 'The Skylark'??? I've never even heard of it.
  22. Lite beer...and less of it.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) Zambrano would be the best pitcher on the White Sox, IMO. I would take him in a heartbeat. The Cubs are dumb, but not dumb enough to ever let him go. He's probably nuts and a guy you hate as an opponent. Sort of like AJ. Cra-Z would be our #3 starter....maybe. Give me Mark, Jose, Freddie and Garland (when he's on) over him any day.
  24. Just when you think you've read it all. Zambrano is not a head case, that's just making excuses for him. He's a childish, sore losing, unprofessional piece of garbage who deserves to spend the rest of his career right where he is, on a lousy ball club.
  25. I admit it, we saw 'The Break Up'. It's OK, but I really liked the ending.
