QUOTE(YASNY @ May 16, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) I've gotten two separate endorsements of my idea. The Shiner is mine!!! ....so we each get 2 beers.

QUOTE(bmags @ May 16, 2006 -> 01:58 AM) i'd rather hear lyrics about that then cornells b****ing and whining that is done a lot better by more quality song writers than himself. Who cares about lyrics, most rock bands don't have s*** to say anyway. That doesn't take away from his singing ability.

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) Make her the very unselfish offer of alllowing her to spend time with her friend without having you hovering around, then you go to the game. Exactly. Plus since she's pregnant, a crowded ballgame might not be the best to be, you know in case of an emergency.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 15, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) In "popular"/"radio played" Rock music. There are thousands out there (Pepper Keenan from Corrosion Of Conformity sings circles around Cornell for example), it's just a matter of finding them. The little bit of COC I've heard didn't make me want to listen to any more, so I must not have been impressed with the vocals. There are a lot of good vocalists and guys that can scream in a decent pitch, but true good singers are hard to come by, which is too bad.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 15, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) After braving the mainstream enslaught of Audioslave, I decided to revisit a CD I never gave much time to when it came out. "Euphoria Morning" by Chris Cornell Wow..this CD is excellent...I'm partially biased, but I still think Chris' solo work, without the loud guitar of Morello behind him, is some of the best. Hell yeah, good stuff, but I really like Cornell's voice. One of the few true singers left in rock music.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 15, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) Well, I was in a bad mood to start for other reasons, but the movie added to it. Pissed me off, again, that it happened. Ah, got it.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 15, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) Saw it Saturday night and I completely agree with you. I'll add that I was completely pissed off from start to finish. .....about the film, or are you saying you went into it in a bad mood?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 15, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) The cops should of taken out their service revolver, shot them both in the knees. A half an hour later, one in the belly. Then let them slowly bleed to death. There are no words for how terrible this is. That's letting them off easily. I'd sentence them to daily beatings and torture for the rest of their lives. That's OK, something tells me Jose and Jamaal will be visiting Johnny's cell at least once or twice.

OH MY GOD. I'm against the death penalty, but in these cases, I'm pro torture.

Nice, to split a 4 game on the road is not bad. -
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) His nose is probably jello under that nose brace. Looks good on you though! A broken nose is a real pain in the ass more than anything.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) There was Rowand thread that turned into this topic a few days ago. This is what I said in that thread. There are some many things wrong with Torri Hunter coming to the Sox. 1.He plays for the Twins. There is strike #1, and why everything else is moot, but I'll go on just for the sake of being bored in class. If we were to nab Hunter, it would be at the cost of getting rid of whats left of a semi weak system as it is(I would think Fields and another pitcher would be involved, maybe just to start the deal out) Im not sure I want those players coming back to haunt me in 09. 2. Torri is very overrated with the strick. While he will outproduce Anderson at the plate, I really dont think there is that big of a drop off when it comes to D. Torii has a few steps on Anderson, but not enough for it to be a concern. 3. If the Twins keep playing like they are, Torii is going to be on the radar screens of ALOT of teams, and I dont think Kenny needs to get into a bidding war for something he doesnt need. I like Torii Hunter ALOT, and would enjoy seeing him on the Sox, but with the makeup of the team right now, it's just not a fit. I agree his O is over rated, we see him kill the Sox, but I'd be surprised if he is a .270 career hitter.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) I feel the same way. You'll find no one on the fence about Radiohead. It's love or hate.

Even if we assume OJ wasn't the murderer, Nicole was the mother of his children.....and she was murdered. Only a person with no soul makes light of anything related to that situation.

'Eight Days A Week" covers em all, no?

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) If you honestly think Sigur Ros is ambient, see them live, if not, you can be an ignoramus somewhere else. Please try and label them ambient after listening to Hjartad Hamast, Ny Batteri or Untitled #8. Brian Eno is ambient, William Basinski is ambient, you're just flat out wrong. I mean, the only apt analogy I can find is like you listened to half of Mogwai's catalog and labeled them quiet. You're so wrong you're unbelivable. "Yeah, man, f*** those Icelandic freaks who don't play formulaic rock and roll that's been beat into the ground for the past decade." Yep, that's exactly what I meant. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ May 14, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Whatever you think about Sigur Ros aside (personally I find them completely captivating about 75% of the time, but I'm not sure I'd want to see them live), I think we can safely say Jim DeRogatis has been a douche long before this column. I figured it out when he wouldn't stop worshipping at Courtney Love's jockstrap on his awful Sunday night radio show. A lot of people have that opinion about him, big deal, he's a critic. It doesn't mean he's always wrong. People will love him when they agree with him and call him a moron when they don't.
