I'm kinda surprised. The 'expert voters' have been so bitter about being wrong about the Sox this year, that they'd shafted us at almost every other honor.

My rules after the first inning was do not walk, even if you have to try to hit a pitch in the dirt and do not take any extra bases unless forced. The game was not fun for anybody and was just that, embarassing. It was a really crappy feeling in that I couldn't stop it, I could only do what I could to slow it down. The talent level between the leagues was just that great. The last place team in our league would have killed their first place team. I certainly understand what it is like to be on the winning side of that type of game and would never want to be on the losing side, but nobody wins in that situation. I thought little league had a 'slaughter rule'.

I survived 36 years without a WS, I can survive at least another 36 without the next one. I'm satisfied.

I don't know where you guys grew up, but I miss the ice cream trucks coming through the neighborhood in the summer. I'm talking about the ones that sold the soft serve, creamy ice cream that the machine dropped right onto the cone in a swirl. They only had 2 sizes and 2 flavors, vanilla and chocolate. I still see a few trucks here and there, but they sell the frozen popsicle, push up, crunch bar type of stuff.
