AND THATS A WHITE SOX WORLD SERIES WINNER!!!!!!

Geoff Bum, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHA. -
Why do these things keep happening at the Cell? The interesting part is, this was at a WS game, where seats went as high as $5,000 a pop. Is there a large number of drunken, f***head Sox fans, who just don't know how to act?

I wish ballplayers would handle a lot of things differently with the press, Oh well. I think the league wants the Sox to win too. I also think the league does everything it can to make sure it's NY vs. Boston every year too. We are a nice little plan B for them. -
LMAO, where'd you find that?? That's awesome!

Cubs Fan's Heart Gives Out When Sox Win
LosMediasBlancas replied to rangercal's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) I know there will be people who will think I'm a jerk for saying it, but I laughed when I read this. This woman has two heart attacks, and it's all blamed on the Sox getting to the World Series? I find it hard to believe. and 'Ozzie and his boys stomped on her heart".....who OKs this crap before it gets printed? -
QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) its also what happens when teams play good baseball instead of just bad pitching and defense but they hit the crap out of the ball (yeah i'm talkin bout the red sox cardinals series) i mean, that indians/marlins series in 97 was a great series...and it had really low ratings... so i guess there just aren't a lot of real baseball fans, just soap opera hype fans. As much as people b****ed about records being tainted by all the juicing, let's face it, fans dig offense and the long ball. They want the 15-12 slugfests and moon shot homers.

Ok, I'll say it, is my heart supposed to break for such a bitter, hateful, irrational woman? What an all around bad, bad choice for a story. -
That's what happens when a team is steamrolling everyone. Awesome, now let's go up 3-0 zip tonight so that there is ZERO interest in the rest of the series, then end it in 4.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) Arguing on a message board is like running in the Special Olympics. Sure you might win, but you're still a HOUSTON DISASTRO! LETS GIVE A LITTLE LOVE HERE MAN. We go up 3-0, Backe is scheduled in game 4, you might see us sweep. Book it. -

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Yeah, but look at how the media is reacting to the Sox using the song. They are being laughed at. Imagine yourself in his position. Once you ruled the world, sold out stadiums all over the world for years. Then one day, after your band falls apart and your solo career fails, you suddenly become a punchline. The man was damn near a God in the late 70's/early 80's. Everything he did turned to platinum. "Oh Serry" was a HUGE hit, and not a terrible song in all honesty, and now VH1, the station that is supposed to treat the old classic bands with respect, has it on a "list show" mocking your vocal performance on it. I understand 100% why the guy would vanish. He shows up now, because here is a baseball team (he is a baseball fan) using it as a "build up" song. It started as a joke, sure, but now you have AJ and the team defending it. I would be surprised if he didn't do it at a celebration in Chicago. He will be there, that is almost for sure. I'd be laughing my way to the bank.....unless he put all his loot up his nose. -

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) Ya know, people were saying they should have played at some point during the series. But I have a crisp $10 to bet that if the Sox win it all, we will see Perry perform at the celebration. It would be hilarious, if this thing somehow revived his career. Kinda like what 'Pulp Fiction' did for Travolta. The Perry '06 Tour, complete with tight, boot cut jeans, black thick soled suede shoes, long feathered hair and a concert baseball jersey with gray sleeves. Hey, I just had a Halloween costume idea. -

If we happen to beat Oswalt tonight, we might see a sweep. They are BANKING on a win by him. I get the feeling the Astros are running on fumes as it is, a loss tonight would kill them. -

QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) I especially love Journey when it's sung by amatuers... but I hate baseball cards. Yesterday morning on the WGN morning news, they had a few Asian guys with very thick accents doing a Kareoke of 'Don't stop Believin''. Hilarious. -

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) I'm sure all around 1986 many kids were conceived to those songs!!! I agree with nothing to be ashamed with on this topic, really. To me, food, movies, books, whatever, are all subjects of "taste" and you can't help what you like. I'm not a Journey fan, but they have their songs. They are one of those bands I find interesting to look at through time though. Now days, the media and people are rolling their eyes about the Sox listening to them. Back when Escape was released, it was considered one of the best albums of the year and was a HUGE seller. Back then, Journey was respected for being amazing musicians. Now, they are an embarrasment. It sad really. Of course, it's all just personal taste, nothing is good or bad. You just either enjoy it, or you don't. -

Classic example of an extremely talented guy who made crap music. Perry had/has an amazing voice, could have been an opera singer, instead he made 'Oh Sherry". "The wheel in the sky" and the "loving, touching squeezing" song (if that's what they're called) are the only things I can even stomach by them. So, um NO. -

Someone just told me that Wayne Messmer was shot outside of Hawkeye's a few years back? I remember the incident, did it happen there? -
QUOTE(chisox72 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) I wasn't about to buy a full-season just for the world series, as much as I would have liked to. But, I did get permission from my wife today to buy the double play package for next season!!! So, I will be dealing with that tomorrow!!! It was my reward for not paying some scalper an insane amount of money. I was gonna pay a scalper a serious chunk of loot for 1 ticket to 1 WS game. I might take it and buy a season package.

It's Ok, we still have Duque for long relief and Marte to slam the door in the 9th.

I saw part of the Prime Time piece and I think they'll grow out of it. Kids do a lot of stupid s***. This might sound weird, but if you're going to be a racist, be openly racist. In other words, some racists join the KKK and move to the mountains in all white communities and march and wear hoods and spew hate, etc. Other racists live in big cities, in racially mixed neighborhoods and talk to you at work and smile in your face on the train. Who is a bigger threat, the clown in a hood marching in the mountains, or say, the all white upper management team at your job who tell ni**er jokes on the golf course?

Big Bad Bobby will be fine, but I don't want to see him in game 3 at all. You keep messing with the bull and eventually you will get the horns. If Houston keeps seeing his fastball, someone will rock it, especially in that small park. I don't want to see what that would do his confidence.

Should Gooch be dropped in the lineup?
LosMediasBlancas replied to GoochFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gooch is coming out it, he's THAT close. Everett on the other hand, seemed lost. He kept taking that uppercut, diagonal golf swing at everything.
