  1. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Wrigley? LOl, close....Ravenswood.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Not to get off topic too much here but... Did anyone else notice the "Old School" White Sox shirt that Kevin Fox was wearing? Unfortunately, I think he also had either a Sox cap or jersey on when he was arrested,...... or maybe it was in old photos. Anyway, I remember getting the phone calls from Cub fans telling me about 'the Sox fan who killed his kid'. :headshake :headshake
  3. Hell yeah, we need to get as fat as we can NOW, August will be here in no time and it ain't pretty.
  4. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) you know who was on the juice? randy johnson. hes lost 8 mph off his fastball since dropping it. if you look at him during his heyday, he had all of the signs. acne, giant neck, irritable. He was/is also thin as a rail.........that was funny though.
  5. In my neighborhood there are tons of eateries and bars and only ONE tavern. Guess which one has the red faced alcoholics hanging out outside it's door, or alseep on the ground outside, or at bus stop just outside, or begging people for money when they walk by, or urinating in broad daylight?
  6. On THIS team, I'll take the Crede with the higher average and less power.
  7. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) By solid I meant built solid. He's 6'2" and 225, which means he's got some size on him, but if you see him in person it looks more like pudge than muscle. Maybe he's off of it this year, which might explain it. I know 2 or 3 years ago, the guy looked like he was gonna burst through his uni...and his forerams and neck were enormous...just like Clemens...... and just like Gagne. Pure specualtion.
  8. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Randa the once sox killer now the sox thriller??? Well I don't know about this move...even if it is possible. Is it worth risking the chemisty of the team for what may only be a slightly better hitter?? I say no. Depends, what kind of a clubhouse guy is Randa supposed to be?
  9. Cub fans always have to get in on the attention, don't they? There's always a Cub angle in anything baseball related in their eyes.
  10. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) He's a pretty solid guy, but I dont really suspect the juice. I guess if he was he wouldnt tell me anyway though. I'm sure he's cool and I also bet he wouldn't tell you. Him and Clemens were just too damn big for guys that only throw a baseball. ..Gagne is another one.... and look at him now.
  11. I've always suspected the guy was on the juice. I wouldn't say s***, unless there is a fence between us.
  12. what is Randa's contract situation anyway?

lol, I think they call that one a bird.
  15. "......the atrocious Joe Crede"? A lot of people on here said they'd be happy if Joe hits .250, he's at .244 right now. I want .270 minimum.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) Those drawings in Peru are also some crazy things. It's funny though, those were probably some crazy kids hopped up on some ancient drug or something. Vandalism for all we know. And here we are trying to figure out the great secrets. LOL! The site of those drawings is a very, very remote region of Peru. I believe you'd have to cross a mean desert to get there. This is why you only get overhead shots from a helicopter. Plus, I think they're actually huge. The theory is that they were landing strips for vessels. The picture of the alien actually appears to be waving out into space.
  17. The Twinkie score was the 1st thing I saw on the scoreboard at the game yesterday and I breathed a sigh of relief. The Sox win was the icing.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Didn't that happen quite a bit of time before all of this whooey though? You're probably right, the mystery continues.
  19. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) It's easy for us to look at the replay & say he made the wrong call but try to imagine what it's like to make it life behind the bag. You've got the best base runner in the game within inches of the bag & a 2B who looks like he's being pulled off the bag by the throw. Your eyes have to dart between Kent's foot & Pods foot to decide the race. The tie always goes to the runner. I think I would have made the call in Pods favor as well. It's a very tough call to make live. Not to mention, when it's your year, you get those calls.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) The amazing thing is that these things are in different areas. I mean, they are in Egypt and in Mexico. How was it that two civilizations were able to figure out how to build them back then, and the rest of the world is stumped on how to do it now? Crazy, isn't it? You would almost think this was a mystery to the whole world! Partly the continental drift theory, maybe.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Ground Hogs did 'em. Lots and lots of ground hogs. Ground Hogs on Starbucks Coffee highs, to be precise. Big Foot was the crew foreman, and they brought in the blocks on the back of Nessie. Actually, in Peru I'm sure the coca leaves were in full effect.
  22. It was interesting to see Cruise try to pull the guy into the camera shot. Like, come here asshole, you had the balls to do it, now have the balls to show your face, lol.

    Pyramids

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) The exactness of the pyramids is what gets me. The shafts that pour light into death chambers perfectly align with a certian star (the star that was where they were supposed ascend to after death) on the summer solstice. The length of the base of the great pyramid is the exact distance that the sun travels accross the face of the earth in one second. There are more of these, but I can't remember them off of the top of my head, I have a couple great books at home. I know, that's what I mean. There is one in Mexico that on a certain day and certain time each year the sun casts a shadow on it and it looks like a serpent climbing up the wall. The Aztec God is represented a serpent. The stones weren't just randomly dropped somewhere. Every stone was probably moved a bunch of times. I wonder if with all the know how and modern machinery we have today, if we'd be capable of building one like those?

    Pyramids

I've seen the pyramids up close and I can't imagine how men could have done that. It's difficult enough to imagine the sheer brute force it would have taken to move, let alone stack the stones. But when you look at them up close, the stones fit together so perfectly, they're air tight. Every last, small crevice is sealed with a stone. The alien theory is interesting. Has anyone seen the rock carvings of the alien in Peru? http://www.ufoarea.com/aas_nasca.html
  25. An 8.5 game lead is really a 17 game turnaround. Nice cushion. If we built a lead that size in less than half a season, surely we can lose it in the second half as well. Is the glass half empty or half full?
