  1. Figures, it looked to good to be true. Thx guys.
  2. As I was walking to get on the green line after Saturday's game, I noticed that IIT has a parking lot right by the green line. Their sign reads something like: IIT blah, blah, blah parking" but I saw a lot of Sox fans getting in their cars and leaving. I didn't see a booth or anyone collecting cash. Is this a free lot?
  3. Reminder for those of you downtown. I'm heading over at 11:00. Will they have photos, or do I need to bring something for them to sign?
  4. This game and series was obviously very important to the Sox, a lot more important then they led on. As a result, we saw them being too eager and pressing on offense. It seemed like the later the game went, the worse we looked at the plate... in terms of pitch selection. This is a sign of folding under pressure. I'm not saying the sky is falling, but hopefully Ozzie noticed what happened today and why. If they thought today was pressure, wait til the second half when the tough part of the schedule comes around and every team is looking to dethrone them and the media pumps up the pressure. Handle it now and learn from it Oz. Now let's go kick some Tiger ass.
  5. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:57 AM) That sucks. Were there more Cubs fans than Sox fans at the game? If I had to be surrounded by more than a thousand Cubs fans at once, I think I'd lose my mind, I'd just walk away flicking everyone off :finger .. I've actually had dreams like that. I wonder if that means anything. There were a LOT more Sox fans there, we just never had much to cheer about. That catch over the wall by whoever (Hollands..?) was a big momentum shifter. Maddux escaped that and then really started to cruise.
  6. We didn't exactly light up that weak pen yestreday, did we? I think the Sox will pull out a close one, but it will tougher than some of you think, just my opinion.
  7. I put this up in another thread, We MUST take a ton of pitches from Prior and make him work since he is on a pitch count. He will be pumped, as he always is when he's returned from an injury.
  8. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Cranky Critic weighs in
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) After getting dominated the way they did yesterday, loook for the Cubs to step it up today. The Sox better be agressive early and match their intensity. Need to hit Maddux early, if he goes into the 4th unscathed, we're in trouble. I had a feeling, but f*** we were down 4-0 before I even got my ass in my seat. My prediction for Sunday: Expect Prior to be lights out, he steps it up when he returns from an injury. We need to be very patient at the plate, as I'm sure he'll be on a pitch count. Make him beat us by throwing strikes, not by swinging at everything. Hopefully we can get to their pen early and hopefully we can knock it around. Garland has to continue to be the Jon of 05, the 'big inning' will kill us.
  10. Wow, thx again guys, you all rock. Just got home from the game, wish I coulda brought you guys a winner, oh well. Time to jump in the shower and let the steamroller birthday weekend of shamless debauchery continue!!
  11. 36 going on 20, thanx f***os. I'm off to the game.

  13. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) I think he also uses 'magnificent' pretty frequently. Personally, I preferred the intensely private(ly crazy) Tom Cruise..... Yep, at least then he had some mystery about him. Now we know he's not very bright and pretty uninteresting as a person. Last night, Letterman asked him what he and Katie did in Paris. After much laughter (not sure why) he replied: we .....had...chocolate....just looked at each other......and had chocolate. Those 2 need a reality show, THAT would be high comedy.
  14. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Man, do I really want to kill Tom Cruise right now. This is the same guy who thinks Methadone was created by the Nazis and was originally called Adolphine. "NAZIS CREATED PSYCHIATRY AND NAZIS ARE BAD!" What a f***ing tool. That was my favorite line also. That's when I woulda jumped in and said: So enlighten me Tom, what do you know about psychiatry? This is the same bonehead who keeps using the word 'great' and no other to describe Katie Holmes.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) LOS, you have the roles reversed a bit here. Currently, we're holding a comfortable lead in the American League Central. Cubs are trailing both the wild card and (obviously) the NLC. A good series is desperately needed from their team more than us. At worst, we're 6 1/2 AHEAD of the Twins exiting the weekend. At worst, Cubs are 11.5 behind the Cardinals and 5 games out of the Wild Card lead. I see your point, thx for another perspective. Now let's sweep some Cubby ass!!
  16. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) Tommy Boy and Lauer clash on prescription drugs Just once I'd like to see someone really grill Cruise on the s*** he says. He always speaks in such broad, general terms.
  17. The smaller, the better.
  18. Last one, when did women stop pushing revolving doors? I don't mind pushing it for them, but they at least gotta act like they're pushing too. Some women walk in and don't even lift a hand.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) My big pet peeve is when you get to the groundfloor and people try to shove onto the elevator while people are still trying to get off of it. I am not sure what the hurry is because you aren't going anywhere until I exit the elevator anyway. same thing happens on the trains.
  20. Kinda related, this s*** happens downtown ALL the time. The person right in front of you gets off an escalator or out of revolving doors and just f***IN STOPS RIGHT THERE, cuz they don't know which way to go. So, you come out right behind them and are trying not to bump into them while also trying to not be run over from behind by the next person.
  21. Did anyone happen to catch Tom Cruise on Letterman last night? I want whatever drugs he's on, cuz everyhting is so damn funny to him.
  22. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) heard this piece earlier this week.. they were talking about the most annoying thing people have experienced on the elevator... mine.. sorry if I expose anyone at one financial place... but my most annoying thing I have experienced on the elevator... when someone holds the elevator door while carrying on a conversation with someone not on the elevator.. I just wanna shove the person off... if the conversation is that important... finish it and wait for the next car!!! How about the people who ride just one floor DOWN during rush hour. Coinidentally, those same people are usually like 80 lbs overweight.
  23. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) it's called a bandwagon. Bulls***, it's called don't judge the number of Sox fans just by the number of butts in the seats.
  24. QUOTE(GoArow33 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) Yeah definitly just got done speaking with the police. They came over and saw it, and they're giving us a free power wash. Turns out the policeman grew up a Sox fan on the southside. And the White Sox flag is flying as high as it can right now (on the top of my basketball hoop!) haha. Yeah, I'm headed to the cell pretty soon. I think this is a good omen of things to come. AWESOME news!
