QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Call them ahaead of time and ask to get a visitor's pass for one game to the Club. Tell them you are looking to use it as a wedding reception site. Don't you think they'd see right through that for a Sox-Cubs game?

QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) I'm not a Billy Corgan fan myself, I always thought that "Tonight Tonight" sounded a lot like a song an 8 year old would write who ran out of words when he got to the chorus. Tonight! Tonight! Tonight! Tonight! Tonight! Please. Spelling error corrected. Thank you. ..and we must never for get: "today is, today is, today is the greatest day I have ever know."

A co worker of mine will be taking client's to Friday's Sox-Cubs game. He wants to know how he can gain entrance to the stadium club. He is willing to pay a season ticket holder for their tickets to the club. He needs 4 tix. Can anyone help?

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Share? People who have stayed late say they hear slamming sounds and far away screams. They also talk about feeling cold drafts.

The tenants tell me some crazy tales.
-
Exactly, he puts his arms up gives her a block, lmao. I see pedestrians in traffic like that all the time.
-
Does this address mean anything to anyone? It's a historic landmark courthouse building downtown. Anyway, one of our clients has an office in that building. Today, I happen to look at one of the plaques on their wall and I notice it was where the Black Sox trial was held. I've been there hundreds of times and never knew that. They also lynched people there and the tenants claim it's haunted.

Sounds like a horrible way to die.

We have to come up with some creative banners to hold up at the Cell if we make the post season. Signs that are aimed at the media.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) We should fear ourselves. The only way we blow this and dont make the playoffs is not because of the other teams. It would be because we fell apart. .....and a major injury or two.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) That's not uncommon. Since 2000 I always show up at the game early & it always seems like a 1/2 full house. But every where you look people are walking around. Then by the 3rd inning it looks much fuller. I really think it's all about the food at the Cell. ESPN featured only a smidgen of what's there. I still believe it's 2nd to none to other MLB parks when it comes to the food. It was a great night to be sitting in the bleachers & watching the fireworks both at the plate & behind the scoreboard. I just wish Boyer would have more promotions linked to the food. Every one I go to the games with raves about the food. It's something Wrigley can't come close to competing in. The Sox should do a much better job selling the food at the park. How about a free brat with paid admission? Wrigley just hired the same food company that's at the Cell. My friends tell me it's like night and day now.

White Sox the best team no one pays attention to
LosMediasBlancas replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unfortunately, a lot of people who can't think for themselves will read it and think: Oh, so is that how I'm supposed to feel about the White Sox? Well, I don't want to be affiliated with THAT, I'm gonna do what's popular instead. -
Here's a weird angle for you. Do you think the success of the team might actually hurt attendance in the second half? It appears to be a real possibility that this team will make the post season. Perhaps some fans will save their money for playoff tix instead of splurging on a few extra regular season games.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) The guy is such a f***ing putz. He really seems to think he is more to the music landscape than he really is. Like we really give a f*** about him thta much? Man, I can't stand the guy, and he is nothing more than a local star. The rest of the country really doesn't care all that much about him, and the rest of the world REALLY doesn't. The thing is, Chicago puts out so few Top 10 acts (popular stuff here) of this sort, that when we do, we seem to think the bands are more important than they really are. To match the fact that the guy is a raging Cub fan, he is also an arrogant prick and a mediocre songwriter and a lowsy guitarist. What a shmuck. My only knock on the guy is that he is supposedly a major control freak. Those supposed 'Pumpkins' albums are really the Billy Corgan experience. He played everything in the studio on most of the tracks because he was never really satisfied with the way the other members did it. The rest of them were just around for touring. I wonder what it really is that he misses about the Pumpkins.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Yeah, it's on the front page of the Trib Website and you can actually view the ad. I was misinformed then. It sounds like he's contacted them.
-
A friend of mine told me that Billy Corgan took out a FULL page ad in today's Trib. In it he says, among other things, that he wants to get The Smashing Pumpkins back together. I don't really care about Billy or the Pumpkins, but I found that to be an interesting way of trying to communicate with your ex-band mates. Anyone else see this?

Time to make a deal for a 5th starter?
LosMediasBlancas replied to BigSqwert's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Somebody mentioned on WSCR the thought of trying to move Cotts to fill the spot. I've gone back and forth on this one, but I think in the end it would be a mistake. When we tried starting him last year, it really seemed to screw him up for the rest of the year. I say just take our lumps with Mac now. Even if he can't help us in 2005, it may pay some good dividends for us down the road. I heard Oz say that if anything, we might have Cotts closing games here and there. -
Would anyone recommend any of the following: Schoolyard Heroes Shout out Louds the Go! Team

Time to make a deal for a 5th starter?
LosMediasBlancas replied to BigSqwert's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Duque will be the guy, book it. I think Oz will rest him here and there so that he can go late into the season. I expect B-Mac to get spot starts against the teams we should beat like KC., TB, Detroit, Seattle etc. I'd rather see us go after a bullpen guy. Package up all the dead weight in the minors (Borchard and the merry-go-round of 5th starters from last year) and get ONE solid bullpen arm. -
Moronotti flip-flops stance on Sox as expected...
LosMediasBlancas replied to Jabroni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
....."haunted by a paranoia of having thrown the WS...". Yeah Jay, that's exactly it. I remember it so vividly and my involvement in it gives me a guilt I will probably never get over. :headshake :headshake :headshake -
B-Mac is not ready, I'm praying Duque gets well......soon.

Charges Dropped Against Father In Riley Fox Murder
LosMediasBlancas replied to Queen Prawn's topic in SLaM
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) I think I can safely say that no amount of Hell would ever get me to say I killed my child. Not saying he confessed, as I can't remember the case. But that always confused me when people would do that. A buddy of mine is a member of the force, he tells me you'd be surprised how often they bulls*** people into confessing to things. -
Charges Dropped Against Father In Riley Fox Murder
LosMediasBlancas replied to Queen Prawn's topic in SLaM
Here's what probably happened: They took him in and wanted to have a suspect arrested ASAP to calm the community and the general public. Eager Beaver/asshole cops interrogate the guy, probably keep him up for like a day and a half, tell him they have all kinds of evidence to put him away and the he's better off just confessing to it.
